Volunteers wanted for Earth Day Community Building Festival next month

Equal Grounds Community Gardens is putting a call out for volunteers to join them at their Earth Day Community Building Festival in April. Held at the Earl Haig Community Garden on April 22, EGCG is asking for clubs, teams, organizations, businesses, food trucks, and any one else that serves their community to come forward

The purpose of the festival is to bring like-minded groups together to network and enjoy live music, food, vendors, a bit of shopping and whole lot of community building. For those who are interested in joining the Earth Day event, applications will be accepted until March 12, 2023 on a first come, first serve basis. Equal Grounds Community Gardens launched in 2009 to provide assistance and support to a vast network of community garden projects They currently support and maintain more than 30 active community gardens in Brantford and Brant County. These gardens, maintained fully by community residents and volunteers, provide places for growing local, healthy and nutritious fruits and vegetables.

Fire Department puts call out for volunteer firefighters

The County of Brant Fire Department is accepting Volunteer Fire Fighter Applications from now until Sunday, March 5. Applicants are invited to attend an information night to learn more about the recruitment process These nights are scheduled for March 7 & 9 at 7 pm at the Cainsville Fire Station, 17 Ewart St. Cainsville Visit www.brant.ca/FireRecruitment to learn more and to apply.
