The County of Brant is currently seeking feedback from residents on proposed changes to the Zoning By-law. Section 34 of the Planning Act allows municipalities to create Zoning By-laws, and the County of Brant has its own by-law (ByLaw 61-16) that aligns with the Official Plan and provincial policies. The purpose of making technical and housekeeping changes to the Zoning By-law is to improve its relevance and address small issues.

Regular updates to the Zoning Bylaw ensure that it remains responsive to the evolving needs of the County. The staff continuously monitor changes that may be required and consider them for future housekeeping projects. Additionally, they are working on developing a new by-law to align with the County's new Official Plan once it is approved.

The County of Brant invites residents to participate in this update process by providing feedback on the proposed changes to the Zoning By-law. To access a complete list of the proposed zoning updates and to learn more about how you can share your feedback, please visit the website www.EngageBrant.ca/ZoningUpda tes . The online engagement period will close on Friday, February 9, 2024
