Paris, ON - The town of Paris celebrates the safe arrival of its newest resident, Hibah Maryam Sohawon, who entered this world on January 4th at 3 pm. Hibah's birth was made possible with the assistance of the Midwives of Brant and the dedicated staff at Brantford General Hospital, ensuring a smooth and secure delivery for both mother and baby.

Hibah is the first child for proud parents Noorshabah JoomunSohawon and Sheik Sohawon, and the young family is happily settling into their home in Paris following the joyful arrival of their baby girl.
Leading up to the birth, Noorshabah experienced some minor contractions on January 2nd, indicating that the arrival of their little one was imminent. At 3 am on January 4th, she was admitted to the hospital, and 12 hours later, Hibah made her grand entrance, weighing a healthy 5.9 pounds
Reflecting on the journey of pregnancy, Noorshabah and Sheik described the moment they discovered their family was about to expand. "Discovering my pregnancy was a miraculous moment, filling my world with
Indescribable joy. Although the initial expectation was a midJanuary arrival, a mother's instinct whispered that our baby might grace us with her presence before the date," shared Noorshabah in an email interview with The Paris Independent.
Throughout the months leading up to the birth, the expectant parents diligently prepared for their baby's arrival. Noorshabah took time off work and immersed herself in various tasks to ensure they were fully ready for their bundle of joy. The nursery room was transformed into a dream haven, baby gear was meticulously organized, tiny outfits were lovingly washed and ironed, and the hospital bag sat patiently packed a tangible symbol of their excitement and readiness for the new chapter ahead.
While they kept the baby's gender a surprise, Noorshabah and Sheik had several names selected in advance When their little girl finally arrived, they settled on the enchanting name 'Hibah Maryam.' Hibah signifies a gift of God or blessings, while Maryam means beloved.
Hibah is truly beloved, receiving abundant love and attention from her doting parents as they adapt to their new routine at home.
Additionally, her grandparents traveled an impressive 15,270 km to be with the family for this joyous occasion, further adding to the joy and happiness surrounding Hibah's arrival.
Noorshabah expressed her gratitude for having her parents by their side during this momentous time in their lives. "We are cherishing every precious moment with our little one, and it brings immense joy during these initial weeks."
The Sohawon family relocated to Paris in January 2022 when they purchased their first home. Since settling in the town, they have cherished their time here, particularly in their peaceful and welcoming neighborhood. Noorshabah expressed, "Paris, with its vibrant culture and serene surroundings, has proven to be an ideal place for starting and nurturing a family."
