Grand River Street North open in both directions

on Grand River Street North in Paris has been underway since the summer of 2023 The work taking place includes the replacement of watermain and sanitary sewers from 100 metres south of Trillium Way to Hartley Avenue. This is the first phase of a multi-year project for upgrades to Grand River Street North as recommended through the Grand River Street North Corridor Environmental Study Report and the Paris Master Servicing Plan We would like to share the following project update with our community:

Grand River Street North is now open to traffic in both directions from Silver Street to Scott Avenue.
In the new year, beginning approximately January 8th, 2024, Grand River Street North will be closed in both directions from Scott Avenue to Woodslee Avenue A detour route will be posted from Woodslee Avenue to Lee Avenue to Scott Avenue to access Grand River Street North to Pinehurst Road and vice versa. It is anticipated that this phase of work (referred to as Phase 1A) will be completed by the end of February 2024.
Following completion of Phase 1A, Phase 1B will commence Phase 1B is the closure of Pinehurst Road and Grand River Street North in both directions from Hartley Avenue to Scott Avenue. A detour route will be shared closer to the construction start date. It is anticipated that Phase 1B will be completed by the end of March 2024
Phase 2 of the project will start next fall and includes the installation of a roundabout at Scott Avenue, Reconstruction of the signalized intersection at Silver Street and extension of a new street from that intersection to the east (Bendemere Road formerly West River Rd), and the possible reconstruction from Bradbury Crescent to Capron Street in addition to the improvements to the Intersection of Silver Street and Grand River Street North and connection of Bendemere Road to the west
