3 Day Music CAMP for Grades 3 through 12 The Music Ministry of Saint Mary’s is proud to present a 3 day Music Camp Thursday, July 27th through Saturday, July 29th.

This camp is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for our children to work with faculty from throughout the Diocese! On Thursday 27 & Friday 28, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and on Saturday 29, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, children from all over the Diocese will learn how to read music, healthy vocal techniques, conducting, solfeggio as well as rhythm. This will take part while engaging in games, activities and group lessons.

The program concludes with 5:00 pm Mass on Saturday July 29, for which the youth will provide all of the music!

An email has been sent to all current 8th graders with this information, requesting the name of any High School not listed, to be sure all were contacted.

Please check for that email and respond accordingly if your future high school is not listed!

Also included in the notice to these Educational Leaders are the following MANDATORY practice/ rehearsal dates to take place Wednesdays, September 27 and October 4, from 6 pm-8:30 pm, details to follow.

End of year Confirmation Interviews will take place after Memorial Day, with a completion date of June 9th. Look for an email with specific dates/ times and sign-ups!

Lastly, Confirmation Retreat (yes, mandatory!) will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2017.

ALL Confirmandi will attend the 12noon Mass. Retreat to follow, ending at 6:00pm.

Quo vadis…

My Dear Parishioners: Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Pentecost.

Pentecost is more than celebrating the “birthday” of the Church—it celebrates our “birth” into resurrection life and being sent to forgive others. We can speak of a “birthday” of the Church—the Church being the body of Christ—only when we make the Church a reality through forgiveness of one another. Forgiveness is sometimes the most difficult thing we do; so many simple acts in our everyday living demand that we seek and give forgiveness.

This is why Jesus sent the Spirit: to empower us, through the common resurrection life we share, to forgive, to heal divisions in the community, to be peacemakers.

Yesterday, His Excellency, The Most Reverend Bishop of Trenton, ordained four to the Presbyteral Order in the Priesthood of Jesus Christ. These new priests will serve the People of God in our Diocese of Trenton.

The particulars are: Reverend Father Roy Aris B. Ballacillo, to parochial vicar, St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford; Reverend Father Thomas J. Barry, Jr., to parochial vicar, St. Justin the Martyr Parish, Toms River; Reverend Father Michael A. Gentile, Jr., to parochial vicar, St. Dominic Parish, Brick; Reverend Father Michael Kennedy, to parochial vicar, St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Burlington.

This coming Monday is our Annual Parish Golf Tournament at Eagle Oaks Country Club. We are very grateful to this years’ committee under the leadership of

parishioners, Ken and Kathy Camarco. This year’s tournament event sponsor is DeFalco Realty, Robert DeFalco, parishioner. This annual fundraiser assists us with meeting our budgetary obligations and goals. We will offer an accounting in the months ahead.

Many thanks to all those who support this Golf Tournament.

Welcome Saint Michael the Archangel to the campus of Saint Mary Parish. Local Colts Neck Artist and parishioner, Drew Weber, has recently installed his sculpture of Saint Michael the Archangel on the southeast section of our parish campus. Drew continues to receive commissions from throughout Central New Jersey. Take a look!

In the coming weeks ahead we will keep the wonderful customs of our liturgical year: Saint Anthony of Padua; Holy Trinity; Solemnity of Corpus Christi; Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul; Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus are all observed this year during the month of June. Please make every effort to participate in these spiritual exercises.

June 18 is our American observance of Father’s Day. It is a wonderful opportunity to pray that through the intercession of Saint Joseph our fathers will continue to be blessed in living their vocation among us. Let us also congratulate all those who have graduated during the months of May and June as they begin a new chapter in their life’s journey. Have a great week. Let us remember one another in prayer. Kateri Programs – Help a Child this Summer!

Make a difference in the life of a local child this summer. For over forty years, The Sisters of the Good Shepherd have provided low-income Monmouth County children with a safe, enriching summer at Kateri Day Camp. You can help a child this summer!

Some key components that make our camp valuable are: Full-day camp for 7 weeks allows parents to work and know their child is safe. We provide transportation, breakfast, lunch, and snack to each child. Each child receives daily swimming lessons. Each child can take home as many books as they enjoy reading.

Your donation will have an impact on a child’s life. $70 = one day of camp ● $350 = one week of camp ● $2,500 = full seven weeks of camp Get some friends together and sponsor a local kid at camp!
