THE INEXPRESSIBLE MYSTERY The God of the universe is mysterious. Science has not been able to solve the mystery of how the universe came into being or explain exactly what continues to give it creative energy and masterful design. No religion asserts that it has found words to name fully the ineffable mystery of God, for no matter what name we use, God always transcends our limited ability to understand. God is a mystery to be believed, not known. And yet, we Christians believe that our name for God best expresses that inexpressible mystery: God is the Most Holy Trinity of three persons united in a communion of love, pouring forth that creative, saving, sanctifying love into the world. Today's scriptures celebrate the mystery of the Trinity and give us clues for living that mystery in our lives. Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

Musical Notations: Happy Summer! Salutations, friends! As the year unofficially kicks off Summer with Memorial Day, we too, coincidentally have a season change. The Easter season begins with the conclusion of the Triduum (the return of the Alleluia too!) through Pentecost Sunday. This week, we return to Ordinary Time. We have three (3) Ordinary Time seasons: between the Christmas season and Ash Wednesday (OT1), following Pentecost (OT2) and following the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (OT3) which continues until the first Sunday of Advent. In Ordinary Time 2, we have the return of the Roman Missal chants and an organ recessional. Speaking of summer and changes, did you know we’re going to have several music workshops, including bells, group voice lessons, AND a music camp for our youngsters, grades 3-12? See the website & future bulletin/Mass announcements! Lauren Walters - Coordinator of Music and Ministries

SAVE the DATE: Saint Mary Thank you to Angela Kinlin and Molly Aiello for passionately launching, coordinating and leading the W alking With Purpose Bible Study Program for Woman for the first four years. You have made a big difference in the lives of many women and have drawn them closer to Christ. “We have been honored and blessed to lead our wonderful WWP Bible study for the past four years. Although we will still be on this journey with you, we will not be in front but shoulder to shoulder. Know that this time has been special, and we are thankful for the presence of each one in our lives.” Love and God Bless you all, Angela and Molly The parish is happy to announce that Karen Wilk has taken the reins in coordinating and leading the WWP program. Walking with Purpose is a Catholic Bible study for women that aims to bring women to a deeper personal relationship with Christ. Through personal study and small group discussions, the group helps to link our everyday challenges with solutions given to us through the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church. BOOK CLUB JUNE Book: Peace Like a River by Leif Enger Meeting: Wednesday, J une 28 4:30-6:00pm ABOUT THE BOOK: Young Reuben Land has little doubt that miracles happen all around us, suspecting that his own father is touched by God. When his older brother flees a controversial murder charge, Reuben, along with his older sister and father, set off on a journey that will take them to the Badlands and through a landscape more extraordinary than they could have anticipated. Enger’s novel is at once a heroic quest and a haunting meditation on the possibility of magic in the everyday world.

Quo vadis… My Dear Parishioners: Today we celebrate the Solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity. Last Sunday, Pentecost, we celebrated the power given to us by the Spirit to forgive one another. On this Sunday honoring the Trinity, we ponder the Source of all forgiveness, our merciful and loving God. We are invited to be gracious as God is gracious. It is awesome to think that God invites us to share in such a great mystery as the Trinity! It seems as though God’s graciousness never ends—not only with sending the Son but further with inviting us into God’s saving work. In this context, we might think of the simple and ordinary ways we reach out to others—a smile, a helping hand, a kind word—as ways we actually manifest the mystery and majesty of our Triune God. Such love as this can only be matched by those who share the divine life! Congratulations to all who helped to plan our 8th Annual Parish Golf Tournament. This year was another success. There was great positive energy among the golfers: some who have been supportive since the tournament’s inception and some brand new participants this year. We are grateful to all of our sponsors, especially our Event Sponsor, Robert DeFalco Realty, and to our Tournament Chairs, Ken and Kathy Camarco, and their committee. The weather was once again like Scotland but the rain held off and a great day was had by all. The tradition continues. Last weekend we presented an accounting of our 2017 Easter Collection. I am very grateful to all those who have participated. We continue to make progress each year as we
strive to serve the needs of our parishioners. Your generous support continues to provide services and facilities that aid us in fulfilling our mission. Many, many thanks. Next Sunday is the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. In some parishes there is a special solemn Mass celebrated followed by a simple indoor procession, Eucharistic adoration and benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament later in the day. Other parishes have an outdoor procession with three stations prepared for adoration of the most blessed sacrament. It is important for us as a parish to consider how we might insert opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction into our calendar of liturgical prayer. Next weekend is also the civic observance of Father’s Day. We pray that through the intercession of Saint Joseph, God will continue to bless all those who live the vocation of Fatherhood. The summer months are upon us. Make time to celebrate the Mass each Sunday whether here at home or while you are enjoying vacation time. Our need to praise and thank God does not diminish when we are on holiday. In fact, when we are on holiday it is important that we embrace the idea of being re-created. Preparations continue for our Summer Session Religious Education Programs for children and young people. Registration for Fall Programming is underway so that materials can be ordered and personnel recruited. Thank you for helping us to provide the very best for our families. Have a great week. Let us remember one another in prayer. Happy Sunday. Peace. Father Jeff

HighScope is a play based curriculum that focuses on the children’s true desires and interests through teacher observation. Our teachers are trained to incorporate your child’s interests into their daily lesson plans, thereby motivating your child to participate in active learning. Recently, our children showed an interest in nature and the birds outside. They wondered where the birds lived and what they ate. Our teachers took that interest and ran with it. The children learned about different birds, where they lived and what they liked to eat. Our children then made their own bird feeders and hung them outside for the birds. They are really enjoying watching the birds fly to their feeders each day!
