Macirowski Pastoral Coordinator for Worship & Music / Principal Organist Worship@stmaryscoltsneck.org Music@stmaryscoltsneck.org For all parishioners: Congregating before and after Mass is prohibited, as per the bishop. There will be no children’s liturgy of the word dismissal. Volunteers are greatly needed to wipe down the wood of the pews after all Masses (weekend and

weekday). We will have a cleaning crew take care of the floors, bathrooms etc, but need this little bit of additional help. Please contact Andrew if you are able. At weekday Masses, no one is to arrive prior to 8:30 AM. All Masses will be in the Chapel in the Parish Hall. Exposition remains suspended for now. Private adoration of the Blessed Sacrament reserved in the tabernacle is welcomed and encouraged at any time.

EXPECTATIONS AS WE GATHER FOR MASS Enter via the front doors of the Church Each person is wearing their mask and to observe social distancing when entering/exiting, selecting a seat, & processing/recessing to receive Holy Communion. It will require all to come earlier than usual to search for seating that observes social distancing.  

  

Masks and Social/Physical distancing are required.

There can be no physical collection of Stewardship Offerings; A designated box(es) will be placed in the Narthex/Gathering Space for the placement of envelopes or offerings. Thank you for your generosity.

Missals, Missalettes, Bulletins, and other papers have been removed.

Holy Water has been drained from all locations.

Parish Clergy will distribute Holy Communion; we ask all coming forth to observe distancing front to back and side to side.

We have been advised that socializing before or after the Mass inside or outside is to be discouraged; clergy are not permitted to greet parishioners before or after the Mass.

NOTE:  For those Catholic faithful that need to consider any possible health and safety risks involved with attending a public gathering the weekend Mass will be available online. see below  Monday through Friday 9 am Daily Mass in the chapel in the Parish Hall.

Quo vadis…

My Dear Parishioners: Today we celebrate the Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. This “treasure’ does have its cost: we must actively search, find, sort. In the gospel the seekers go out in obvious places to find the treasure. For us our discovery of the kingdom is most often in our everyday circumstances when we experience overwhelmingly in the in-breaking of God’s presence. This may be something so simple as the smile of a person’s grateful thanks or the sense of rightness that comes with fidelity to daily prayer.

The challenge is to recognize that God chooses to be present to us!

I am pleased to announce that His Excellency, The Most Reverend David M. O’Connell, CM, Bishop of Trenton, will visit our parish, Friday, 23 October 2020 to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to our parish candidates.

This celebration will certainly be different than those in of the past. We will make our preparations so that we are in full compliance with protocols to be observed during the COVID Pandemic. Our parish staff persons will be in contact with the candidates for confirmation and their families.

I am also pleased to announce the tentative dates for our parish First Holy Communions.

They are Sunday, 18 October 2020 at the 10:00 am & 12:00 Noon Masses and Sunday, 25 October 2020 at the 10:00 am & 12:00 Noon Masses.

Our parish staff will communicate more details in the coming weeks. Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we strive to prepare these most important celebrations while adhering to the guidelines during the COVID Pandemic.

Our first module of the Summer Intensive Religious Education Program has concluded. I have received and been informed that many of the young participants had positive experiences.

Thanks to our staff persons, the catechists, and the parents of our participants. Let us continue to offer the very best to our young people as they grow in their faith.

The summer continues as we begin the month of August. I hope that you can enjoy some outdoor time before we launch into the Fall season. Have a great week.

Being a spouse, a parent, even a good friend, much like being a disciple of Jesus Christ, requires more than half-hearted attempts at helping, listening with one ear, and paying lip service. We need to put down the phone and look into one another’s eyes, to give of ourselves completely to the other. There’s where and when we’ll find the pearl of great price.
