From Our Pastor Rev. Fr. Jeffrey E. Lee, MDiv, MA, ThM Where has the time gone?

Looking back is an important part of visioning for the future. I look back and wonder where the times has gone these past ten years. I think about the many joys and challenges that we have experienced during this past decade. I think it is fair to say that it was a challenging time for our parish. What has been achieved is truly a credit to the faith of our parishioners. Together with the support of the parish staff and leadership teams we have overcome the many challenges along the way.

The most significant fact is the number of parishioners who are no longer with us. Some following “Superstorm Sandy”; others financial irregularities; others choosing to downsize as their children went on their own; the COVID-19 pandemic; and the rise in home prices while interest rates remained at historic lows. Regardless of the reason, our Colts Neck Community has experienced one of the largest population shifts in years…maybe ever. This shift continues to provide opportunities for us as a parish community.

The good news is that we have emerged from the pandemic stronger than ever. Sunday Mass attendance has returned to our normative numbers (even with the higher than average numbers of parishioners with second residences, and those involved in travel sports teams).

The median age has decreased. The group from which many volunteers traditionally come from (55-75) is the fastest contracting group. The number of households where both heads of households work outside the home has increased (even though some now work from home partially).

We have regularly noted an increase in the total number of weekly contributors (on-line, cash/check envelopes). The online giving program has proven to be very successful and most appreciate the ease of setting it up to ensure regular support of our parish. We have experienced a slight drop in the overall average of each weekly participating parishioner gift. We will continue to address this as we have in the prior years thanks to your generosity.

I invite you to take the time to read the following pages. It has been prepared as a way for us to be transparent and accountable to you. I am especially proud of our parish commitment to the poor and needy. We have come a very long way these past 10 years. This is due to you and your sacrificial support of our commitment to the poor and needy.

May God continue to bless you and your family for your generosity. May Mary, Seat of Wisdom, intercede for us and inspire us to proclaim the love of God in all that we do and say.

Pastoral Coordinator for Worship & Music A reflection on corporate worship, ministry involvement, and future needs of our worshipping community The reception of the Holy Eucharist and active participation in the liturgy remain the hallmarks of our Catholic identity when we gather for worship. As we continue our journey with the Eucharistic revival it is important to remember that the Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith.

Mass Attendance, Worship Practices & Stewardship An active participation by all those gathered (the assembly) leads to a more profound worship experience by all of those present.

Actively participating in the liturgy entails joining in the responses and other parts of the Mass that are prayed by the assembly.

Worship and Music (continued) versary celebration, the chapel also now houses the organ that had been in the church to add to our chapel worship events. This also allows us to host smaller celebrations in the chapel, allowing for better use of our electrical output (in the form of reduced lighting and HVAC costs) and serve as responsible stewards of both our environment and our financial resources.

Our Ministries and Members Going back a few years, prior to our temporary closure in 2020, we had 162 active volunteers who would give their time to serve in our various liturgical ministries at weekend Masses. At the end of fiscal year 2021, that number dropped to 92, and by June 2022, decreased again to 88. By the end of fiscal year 2023, we saw a slight increase to 95 active volunteers. There are several reasons for that initial decrease. Some volunteers have not returned to church for worship since its reopening after pandemic closures. Others have retired from their ministries due to health reasons or have relocated out of Colts Neck. We have also had some mobility among young people, such as altar servers who went away to college, but unfortunately there was not younger student available for replacement. It appears that the greatest cause for the drop, however, was that parishioners who returned for worship did not resume serving in their former role.

Below are the breakdowns for each ministry: what they entail, how many we currently have active, and how many are typically needed per Mass: • Altar Servers - 21 Assist clergy during Mass and other celebrations, from processions to the Liturgy of the Eucharist, as well as holy hours, weddings and funerals. At least one altar server for is needed for most Masses, though two are preferable. For Solemnities, two are required and four are preferred.

• Ushers - 7 At least two ushers should attend each Mass to assist both visitors and regular congregants, especially during special occasions such as First Holy Communion, Baptisms, and the like. Ushers also monitor the collection, and make sure the nave is properly set for the following Mass.

• Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion - 33 These individuals assist the priest and deacon during the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass. Some also bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound. Three ministers are preferred for most Masses, with an additional person to serve as an alternate should someone be unable to fulfill their position. Christmas and Easter Masses usually require additional ministers in order to best accommodate our increased numbers on those days.

Worship and Music (continued) the word of God at Mass and prayer services. Readers must be strong public speakers, able to deliver the readings with clarity. Two are scheduled for each Mass.

• Children’s Liturgy of the Word - 4 Children are dismissed from Mass during the Liturgy of the Word to the chapel with a catechist and an assistant to hear the word of God in their own language and engage in activities to expand their understanding. Having recently restarted after the restrictions of the pandemic were lifted, this opportunity is available to children during one Sunday Mass at 10 a.m. Our goal is to expand the number of offerings in the future as more catechists are trained.

• Music - 12

The music ministry consists of the choir, handbell choir, cantors and instrumentalists. We have one staff organist, one staff cantor and four volunteers who aid the assembly in their musical participation.

More volunteers are necessary to make scheduling more equitable. The choir and handbell ensemble consists of about eight regular members, but ideally that number would double to bring us in line with a congregation of our size.

• Sacristans - none dedicated at present Sometimes referred to as sextons, a sacristan prepares the vestments, liturgical books, vessels and other necessities to prepare for Mass in accordance with the order and needs of the congregation. They also clean the vessels after Mass and maintain these items throughout the year. Though at least one sacristan is needed per Mass, at present this important role is unfulfilled. A combination of staff, clergy, and some volunteers have been performing these duties in the absence of dedicated sacristans. The parish welcomes volunteers dedicated to serving in this capacity. Extraordinary ministers of holy communion and altar servers are excellent candidates to double up on this role, but any liturgical ministers can easily double as a sacristan with proper training.

One challenge in scheduling the appropriate number of ministers per Mass is the preference of volunteers to only attend certain Masses. The Saturday anticipatory and 10AM Sunday Masses are generally the most well-attended, but that is not an accurate indicator of volunteer availability.

Worship and Music (continued) In the past few years, the following trends have emerged: 1) Less Flexibility: The same extraordinary ministers often attend the same Masses week after week, resulting in difficulty to find coverage if one is sick, is on vacation, etc. It is preferred that ministers be open to serving at different Mass times, especially for such an important ministry.

2) Early Morning Preference: Though at one time the 8 a.m. Mass was the most difficult to schedule altar servers, today it is the most popular. Several families now prefer that time, but the downside is that more weeks than not, there are none scheduled for the Noon Mass.

3) Attrition: Many of our older servers have gone off to college without an adequate number of younger children to fill their spots.

4) Ushers Wanted: We previously had a large team of ushers, but we have seen a steep drop in the number of ushers available per Mass.

In order to alleviate these concerns, it is recommended that volunteers consider attending different Mass times and signing up to do so with our scheduling software. At certain times of the year, volunteering for more than one Mass per weekend is encouraged. The parish is also in need of more volunteers in all ministries, in order to best serve our worship community.

Finally, at certain points of the year, ministerial volunteers become more important than ever, and it is not a coincidence that these times are always busy times with family and out-of-church activities. The preparations of the campus for Christmas and Easter require a great deal of labor, not all of it physical, but volunteers are severely lacking during those times. The making of commitments to serve on Holy Days is also proving difficult. To use the same feasts and Solemnities as examples, there are four Christmas Masses, five Masses for the Triduum and Easter, plus the Good Friday service, each requiring many hands to function efficiently, and we often go with empty positions for many of those Masses. At these times, when Mass attendance is great as family, friends and visitors join us for worship, it is ever more critical to fully staff our ministries.

All Things Musical Our music ministry continues to evolve as we strive to be more in line with the Universal Church, using guiding documents such as the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, with a focus on solid theology, well-written hymns and songs, liturgically accurate texts and the occasional challenge piece for the choir. Our current worship resource for the pews, The Book of Sacred Liturgy, has been generally well received by parishioners. Many who attend weekday Mass have found it especially useful as it contains the readings and propers for every single day of the liturgical year, aiding in participation and prayer. For the weekend liturgies, the more

Worship and Music (continued) concise format of this resource has enabled us to focus our musical prayers toward the Holy Trinity with carefully chosen texts and well-written music.

As with all of our ministries, we saw a decrease in music ministry. Calling attention to our congregation size, our music ministry should have double the amount of members that it currently does, especially where the choir and handbell ensemble are concerned. As music is an integral part of the liturgical experience, we should strive to always offer our best to the Lord, and make music to his name.

Our annual summer concert series which began in 2018 had to pause for 2020-2022 due to the pandemic, but resumed in August 2023, offering Vivaldi’s Gloria, conducted by Dr. Carly York. As part of our 50th anniversary celebration, we have entered into a contract with Stadele's Allen organ, the local dealer representing the Allen Organ company, to purchase a state-of-the-art digital organ for the church. The new instruments will have the most up-to-date sampling technology and will be “field-upgradable”, meaning that as newer technology becomes available, the instrument can be updated and kept current, rather than becoming obsolete and in need of total replacement. Due to the nature of this brand new system, this organ will be completely custom, unique to our worship space.

The previous organ, an Allen theatre organ, has been installed in the chapel while a loaner organ has been placed temporarily in the church. The new organ is expected to be installed prior to Christmas 2023. As always, the music ministry thrives best with larger numbers and all who are inclined are encouraged to join.

Cooperation We continue our cooperation with the community of Saint Catharine Parish in Holmdel, sharing clergy on weekends, coordinating music ministers, and running a joint RCIA program. This kind of cooperation allows us to bring the best of both communities together to help each other, not because we have to, rather because we want to and the results are nothing but beneficial. Additionally, beginning this year we will coordinate Mass times on Holy Days to better serve both communities.

Final Thoughts We are a strong, prayerful, and active faith community. The challenge remains that while we have a greater than average participation in stewardship of treasure, we have a smaller than average percentage of active parishioners are engaged in ministry, giving of their time and talent. I greatly encourage all of our members to prayerfully consider giving their time and talent to the community.

Whether singing in the choir or ringing the handbells, acting as a substitute usher on Holy Days, assisting with Christmas decorations, the community is always grateful for the contributions of its members. May God bless.

Pastoral Associate for Temporal Administration, Stewardship & Outreach Consistent giving, volunteering your time and sharing your talents are key to helping your Parish thrive Last year, The Parish of Saint Mary celebrated 50 years on its current location at 1 Phalanx Rd in the geographic center of Colts Neck. We started the fiscal year with some valid concerns about the national economy as recession and inflation were being forecast. Despite that, we were able to maintain our financial position and keep up with our obligations thanks to the generosity of our committed parishioners. The mild winter and lack of snow saved the parish thousands of dollars, as funds budgeted for snow removal were redirected to some pending capital projects. In the end, we concluded the year positively—but increasing costs and exhausted government grants from the pandemic are projecting a deficit in next year’s budget.

The following are some of the key accomplishments and highlights for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023:

Stewardship There continues to be a decrease in giving of time and talent since the beginning of the pandemic. This is especially critical and noticeable in our liturgical ministries. Weekend after weekend, our masses are celebrated with fewer volunteers serving as altar servers, lectors and extraordinary ministers of communion. To reverse this situation, we are planning to launch a Liturgical Ministers Fair in the fall. Parish office volunteers for key roles such as answering the phone, typing documents, or maintaining our archives are very few these days. Other committees and event teams are always looking for new members. There is always something to do! If your schedule allows, please consider volunteering to help “Honor the Lord with us in an area that interests. Feel free to contact me or any other your wealth, with first staff members if you are interested in volunteering. Your giving fruits of all your proof time and talent is much needed and really appreciated.

Our Sunday mass offerings decreased slightly, both in weekly volume and average contribution per household compared to the previous year. A more in-depth analysis shows that we have lost a number of large donors due to deaths or relocations to other states or senior communities. Ironically, the number of donors per week has increased, but the average offertory has decreased.

For quite some time, the Finance Council has been discussing the need for an Increased Offertory Renewal, a campaign which had originally been scheduled for last fall, but was subsequently postponed due to the recession and inflation concerns. This

Temporal Administration (continued) year, we must move forward with this campaign in light of our budget deficit. Therefore, an invitation to consider increasing your Stewardship of Treasure will come later this Fall. We ask that you review it faithfully and please consider increasing your offering or giving on a more consistent basis. It is important to emphasize that we share in the responsibility of supporting our parish, so we are called to joyfully share our blessings.

Both Christmas and Easter are the most important celebrations in our liturgical calendar, and many parishioners have responded to the call to make a special gift to the parish on those occasions. The Christmas collection in 2022 hit another record, climbing 6% compared to Christmas 2021 and an additional uptick in parishioner participation. Similarly, our Easter collection increased slightly with similar participation as in 2021.

Support for the poor and needy has increased among our parishioners participating in charitable initiatives as well as giving projects throughout the year like our food collection program, the Thanksgiving food drive, Blessing Bags and Fishers of Men. Our revenues for the poor and needy fund are almost sufficient to cover the growing requests for assistance and the subsidy from our operational fund has decreased over the years.

The monthly Building and Mortgage Reduction collection, however, dropped 1% as compared to the prior year. The parish continues to subsidize the monthly mortgage payment with operational income since we just collect about 41% of what is needed.

The Diocesan capital campaign, “Faith to Move Mountains,” came to an end in April 2023.

The Diocese received $1,230,076 throughout the course of this campaign out of a total pledged by our parish of more than $1.3 million. As a result of this campaign, the Parish of Saint Mary received $317,342 in rebates which are restricted for the items in our case statement. To that end, our church lighting upgrade project is slated to start late Summer 2023 thanks to funding made possible by a portion of this rebate.

The 2023 Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) launched in February 2023 with a goal of $75,000 as it has been in recent years. The ACA provides funding for diocesan ministries and programs which benefit our larger church while also providing the parish a rebate when we reach our goal.

At the time of preparing this report, 223 households pledged to the ACA, raising $85,052.50. This means we have already reached our goal and secured our rebate. It is pertinent to remind our parishioners of the importance of supporting the Annual Catholic Appeal every year.

We have also received a special restricted donation towards a new Nativity art piece. Our Nativity scenery and fiberglass statues are showing noticeable signs of wear and tear which are difficult to repair. A family of non-parishioners approached our Pastor about making a gift to-

Temporal Administration (continued) wards a new Nativity, and the artwork was commissioned last March. The new Nativity art piece is scheduled to arrive on time for Christmas this year.

Facilities The following are some of the capital projects we have completed this past fiscal year in our campus: • Childcare Center Play Area: After some delays due to supply chain issues and contractor availability, construction started in November. First, the large window in the north side of the childcare center recreation area was demolished, making way for new double doors and window combo that provides direct access from the childcare center to the play area. Excavation began in December, and thanks to the mild weather the contractor company was able to pour the concrete foundation and 40-feet by 60-feet slab that same month. Construction resumed in January with the installation of playground equipment followed by installation of pour-in-place rubber surface covering half of the play area.

Fence and service gates installation followed shortly after. A commemorative plaque in thanksgiving to the donors was the final step.

• Main Campus Tree Trimming and Removal The second stage of tree pruning and removal continued in the fall to complete most of the trees in our campus from the driveway in Phalanx Road to the driveway on Route 34 North as well as trees around the parking lot islands and fields. More work is needed but is on hold until funds become available.

• LED Lighting Upgrade The project to upgrade our lighting to more efficient, energy-saving and long-lasting LED fixtures continued. In this phase, we addressed the old offices in Parish Hall/Daily Mass Chapel, bathrooms, hallways, and storage rooms. New 2x2 LED lights were installed across these, improving the illumination and energy consumption. This project has been partially funded by the Annual Catholic Appeal rebates received over the last two years.

Temporal Administration (continued) • New Roofing for Garages and Shed Inclement weather in the past 2 years had taken its toll on the old roofs of the maintenance garages and storage shed. Sections of underlying plywood had rotted, making it accessible to the elements and critters. We contracted a roofing company which removed layers of shingles and rotted wood, and they installed new, 30-year, asphalt shingle roofs on both buildings. This included the installation of proper venting to allow fresh air in and hot air to escape. They also patched roof areas on the parish house on campus which had also been damaged over time.

• Electric Vehicle Chargers Conversations to install new EV chargers started about two years ago with the Parish Pastoral and Finance Councils.

We learned that rebates were made available by electric providers in New Jersey. As more people are turning to electric vehicles, it was seen as a pastoral need for our parishioners and their families when visiting the parish for funerals, weddings, and other special celebrations, as there are no other charging stations in town. The project was completed in May, and our chargers have since been providing energy to electric vehicles.

Outreach This year was particularly busy for our Charitable Appeals ministry as the request for emergency assistance increased. Many requests were received from our partner organizations in the area and beyond. The dollar amount spent in assistance was 81% more than the prior fiscal year, surpassing our budget projections.

The Thanksgiving Food drive continues to grow in participation year after year. Lots of bags with groceries were collected and others opted to provide monetary donations to purchase turkeys which price per pound continues to increase. Food sorting and packing was also another well attended intergenerational event. Over 300 grocery bags for Thanksgiving dinner and several bags of mixed groceries were distributed to the needy in our larger community. Additionally, potatoes, onions, rutabagas, and more than 200 turkeys were purchased and donated.

The Tree of Love, Sponsor A Family and our direct Charitable Appeals efforts were significant to make of Christmas a very special celebration for hundreds of children and families in need. We also continued hosting other charitable service events such as Fishers of Men food collection on Ash Wednesday, the Blessing Bags collection of personal hygiene items and Soap SACK, which were welcomed and supported by our parishioner families.

Temporal Administration (continued) Community Building Events Participation in events throughout the year returned to levels prior to the pandemic. Our traditional Halloween Halls was scheduled the last Saturday in October and brought many families for the traditional trick or treating around our halls and meeting rooms. Trick-or-treaters in their costumes gave a special profile to the 4 pm Mass. The Easter Egg Hunt happened the second Sunday of Easter in April, gathering many families for mass and the egg hunt following around our grounds.

We also hosted our traditional Fall and Spring parish grounds cleanups, which were wellattended by our parishioners of all ages. Dozens of volunteer families helped us rake leaves, collect brush, clean planting beds, and tidy up our property in preparation for the major Holy Days of Christmas and Easter.

In the spring, we hosted our first Theology on Tap event at Source Brewery. It was a great evening, and our own Bishop David O’Connell was the principal speaker.

A good number of parishioners and friends were pleased to visit the local brewery for the first time and taste some of their original brews while enjoying some food and camaraderie. There are plans to host similar events in the near future, so stay tuned for more information.

Conclusion In summary, this was another great year for our parish community. The Stewardship of our parishioners permitted us continue being a vibrant and strong community, while we were able to remain offering convenience in our service to the community, maintain our campus and facilities, compensate our personnel for the hard work they do and present new opportunities for community building.

We are looking forward to continuing serving you, our parishioners and the larger community.

As a result of the faithfulness of parishioners, The Parish of Saint Mary has maintained total offertory revenue despite inflation and other economic challenges Highlights: •

Overall Revenue: $211,411 greater than previous year mainly due to ERC Stimulus and additional Faith to Move Mountains revenue.

Weekly Offerings: Decreased by only $16,525. However, both years did not have the Offertory Recovery Program and collections are continuing to decline. Fortunately, the decrease was offset by additional collections for Christmas and Charitable Giving.

Government ERC Simulus: $71,212 increased revenue.

Faith to Move Mountains: $193,867 increase from previous year.

Bequests: $50,000 decrease from previous year.

Pastoral Coordinator for Faith Formation, Religious Education

Thoughtful, positive change marks a year of growth for our Religious Education programs This year has been a great year for the Religious Education and Faith Formation department. Many thoughtful and positive changes and improvements were implemented this year to our religious education program. The children flourished in many on-campus/in-person classes, live online classes, and many great events and programs throughout the year.

Summer Intensive RE Program The Summer Intensive Program for grades 1 through 6 ran two weeks in July 2022 and two weeks in August 2022.

During the July session, we engaged the children in a live Google Classroom setting. The online classes were three hours each day for a total of 30 hours at the completion of the two-week period. For the August session, the children came in on campus for an in-person module. This session ran for four hours each day including breaks, snack time and special presentations.

With 101 students enrolled in July and 86 students enrolled in August, a total of 187 students in grades 1 through 6 participated overall in our summer program. Professional school teachers successfully taught and guided the children through their faith journey.

This year’s curriculum this year consisted of Loyola Press’ Growing With God Safe Environment program with a total of 6 lessons. This was completed along with the 25 lessons in Loyola Press’ Finding God series. We surveyed parents at the conclusion of each session, and the response was overwhelmingly positive, and suggestions received will be taken into account for next year’s program. It is great to get honest feedback as there are always facets of any program that can be improved.

Fall RE Program Our fall program consisted of both on-campus and virtual classes. A total of 177 students were enrolled this Fall. Families had a choice of weekly class days and times, and the program ran from late September 2022 to early May 2023.

Religious Education (continued) two-year, First Communion Prep program had a total of 37 first and second graders who came to the church Tuesday afternoons for in-person religious education classes. Families registered their child for the early 4:30pm class or for the late 5:50 pm class. Each class ran for 70 minutes.

For grades 3 through 6, students attend virtually either Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 pm or Wednesdays from 6 to 7pm. This was a teacher-led, live module using Google Classroom technology to allow students to interact with each other and work together to complete their lessons.

Intergenerational Events Our Religious Education students are required to complete an intergenerational component each year. Students must attend at least four programs or events throughout the year. This year, we had a total of 22 events children and families could choose from to fulfill this requirement.

As reflected by this extensive list of events, there were numerous opportunities to engage our religious education families and parishioners. Many of the intergenerational events were met with record setting attendance this year. The fall cleanup was extremely successful as was the Advent Penance and Reconciliation service. The Easter Egg Hunt was a very popular event with a record number of volunteers as well as participants. The Easter Bunny had a photo booth, and the 500 plus filled eggs decorated the parish grounds for the children to enjoy. We were excited to add Palm Weaving class on Palm Sunday, as both children and parents alike were excited to learn how to weave the palms! Grandparents’ Day was a new event this year, as we celebrated national day for Grandparents and the Elderly. The turnout of participants as well as volunteers was inspiring. Grandparents and grandchildren enjoyed the continental breakfast and a presentation about Jesus’ grandparents.

Religious Education (continued) Sacramental Firsts First Holy Communion We celebrated the Sacrament of First Holy Communion this year with a total of 44 children. They each received this beautiful Sacrament on one of two Sundays in October 2022. Rehearsals were held to ensure a wonderful experience for the children and their families.

First Penance and Reconciliation In December 2022, those preparing to receive their First Communion during Fall 2023 attended their very first Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. We were blessed to have 13 priests to administer the Sacrament.

As a parish-wide event, many parishioners also attended this Advent Penance service. To prepare, the children attended both a retreat day and a rehearsal day.

Final Thoughts This year has been a tremendous success here at the Parish of Saint Mary for our Religious Education programs.

Our families have been welcoming of the additions and changes we have been making in order to improve and streamline our program. Our parishioners stepped up this year, as we asked each family to help at least one event.

Working together as a community has invigorated our Faith Formation/Religious Education program and team!

Confirmation Preparation Our Confirmation preparation program leads students to the next step on their faith journey towards the completion of their Sacraments of Initiation. We hope to prepare students to fulfill the promises their parents made for them at baptism. In alignment with the Diocesan Mission, we aim to support growth in faith and help our young people move towards becoming life-long disciples.

In collaboration with our Cohort, The Parish of St. Catharine, Rev. Pat McPartland presented Teaching the Mass, a discussion about the basics of the Mass for our 7th - and 8th - graders and their parents. Participants took part in a church scavenger hunt and were asked to search their hearts for what holds them back from God. The event concluded with guidance on how to move forward in their faith and Eucharistic Adoration. Confirmation prep students once again contributed to the parish Sponsor a Family initiative and the Blessing Bag Brigade project, providing them the opportunity to live their Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) The ministry team, comprised of members from the Parish of Saint Mary and St. Catharine Church along with Reverend Monsignor Michael Walsh (“Father Mike”) serving as the Spiritual Director, accompanied four Catechumens (unbaptized) and three candidates for Confirmation into full communion with the Catholic Church at the 2023 Easter Vigil.

The RCIA team continues to walk with the remaining Candidates through the RCIA process. Both parishes continue to welcome new inquirers to come and see the richness of the Catholic faith. The team will continue to bear witness and accompany those going through the process of discernment and catechesis. We are always looking to grow the ministry team with people who are open to sharing the faith, serving as a parish Sponsor, or offering hospitality in the way of making coffee or being the welcoming face. We ask that parishioners continue to keep those who are seeking God and those who minister to them in your prayers.

Adult Faith Formation Highlights Bible Study Programs: Offered at the Parish of Saint Mary since 2013, Bible study programs increase familiarity and ease with the Bible, faith sharing, and deepening the personal understanding of the Word of God. Morning and evening sessions are offered to accommodate participants who want to continue their journey in the study of Sacred Scripture. We have been using the Ascension Press Series for the studies. This past cycle featured “Matthew - The King and His Kingdom (24 sessions),” and “Epic: Journey Through Church History (20 sessions).”

Walking With Purpose: Twenty women gathered for 22 weeks to share two different bible studies.

The small groups provided an avenue for share their faith journey with one other while gaining a deeper understanding of their spiritual studies. The program is led by co-coordinators Anne Baker and Kathy Woolston.

Women’s Morning Office: Women of the parish gather in weekly for ‘Song, Scripture, Reflection, Eucharist, Sharing, and Prayer’, praying for our parish and community.

Prayer The National Eucharistic Revival To conclude our 2022 Annual Report of Stewardship, we invite you to say this beautiful prayer provided by The National Eucharistic Revival, an initiative that began in June 2022 and continues through 2025. This grassroots effort calls upon Catholics to renew our Church by enkindling a living relationship with Jesus through the Eucharist. This inspiring initiative, in which The Parish of Saint Mary is taking an active role, is a wonderful opportunity to experience a profound renewal in Jesus and the Eucharist.

Let us pray...

Lord Jesus Christ, you give us your flesh and blood for the life of the world, and you desire that all people come to the Supper of the Sacrifice of the Lamb. Renew in your Church the truth, beauty, and goodness contained in the Most Blessed Eucharist.

Jesus living in the Eucharist, come and live in me.

Jesus healing in the Eucharist, come and heal me.

Jesus sacrificing yourself in the Eucharist, come and suffer in me.

Jesus rising in the Eucharist, come and rise to new life in me.

Jesus loving in the Eucharist, come and love me.

Lord Jesus Christ, through the paschal mystery of your death and resurrection made present in every Holy Mass, pour out your healing love on your Church and on world. Grant that as we lift you up during this time of Eucharistic Revival, your Holy Spirit may draw all people to join us at the Banquet of Life. You libve and reign with the Father and Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.

May Mary, the Mother of the Eucharist, pray for us. Amen.
