Mass Schedule Change - Standard Time (changes from Daylight Savings Time)

The 5 pm Sunday Parish Mass starts on November 5, 2017. (where the Con irmation Preparation students are required to attend). The Saturday 5 pm Mass will move to 4 pm on November 4, 2017.

FAITH TO MOVE MOUNTAINS ENDOWMENT CAMPAIGN FTMM update as of 7/27 Total $1,390,294 Pledges 196 Average $7,094

Saint Mary Parish MINIMUM goal, as established by the Diocese of Trenton, was $1,250,000 in which we included 3 years of the parish’s contribution to the Annual Catholic Appeal.

However the parish’s NECESSARY goal is $2,250,000.

NOTE: 70% of all gifts received after reaching our minimum goal come back (rebate) to the parish and will go into a restricted fund to be used only for the 3 items in the case statement.

We received our first FTMM rebate of $35,369 this month.

The money is isolated and restricted until all the FTMM rebates have been received.

Rehearsal/ Penance & Reconciliation Wednesday, 27 September 6 - 8:30 pm.

Arrive in time for 6:00 pm practice for candidates and parents (at least one parent) in the Church followed by a 7:00 pm Penance and Reconciliation service for CANDIDATES AND PARENTS. If sponsors are available, they are most welcome to come to the practice and celebrate Penance and Reconciliation with the candidates and parents. Service should be concluded by 8:30 pm.

Jesus Mommy and Me playgroup begins! a playgroup for caregivers & their pre-school children (infancy until Kindergarten) Starts Tuesday, September 12th 10 am - 11:30 am in Room 10 The group will meet the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month.

Jesus, Mommy and Me is an early childhood, Christcentered formation program and playgroup for a parent and their preschool aged children (infancy until Kindergarten). This program in not just for Moms. Dads, grandparents and caregivers are also welcomed.

Our "House that Rock Built" project for a two family unit in Atlantic Highlands kicked off during our National Women Build Event on May 12th.

Construction of our third "House that Y outh Built" in Long Branch starts later this summer, while our Neighborhood Revitalization efforts in that area continue to expand.

Our A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) and Ramps & Rails programs are going strong and help those whose homes are in need of minor repairs, weatherization & safety improvements.

May 15th was our signature event, A Taste for Homes, at the Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank. It was a fabulous night of amazing food and good company.

On August 21st, we are holding our 6th Annual Golf for Homes event. This year's Outing will be located at the luxurious Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, NJ. Our Restore has a great selection of gently used home furnishings, appliances and more. Hours of Operation are Wednesday - Saturday 10 am - 5pm. Quo vadis…

My Dear Parishioners: Today we celebrate the Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time. The good news of the Church is that Christ trusts us to proclaim throughout the ages that His identity has been revealed by God. Jesus didn’t only choose great thinkers or saintly people to steer His Church on a right course and make His name known. He chose ordinary human beings who simply open themselves to the capacity to be great believers because they are first great hearers of the revelation.

“Revelation” doesn’t mean that we sit around alone in silence waiting for God to speak to us.

It means that we open our eyes to see, and our ears to hear, and our hearts to experience Jesus’ presence and power in the daily happenings around us. The infant who utters the first word and delights parents, one who has Alzheimer’s who has a rare moment of recognition, the unexpected good deed that comes our way can all be revelations of Jesus’ identity and saving power. We only need to hear and have faith.

Many thanks for your kind welcome extended to Father Mathieu Herve Mboudou during his recent visit to our parish. Participating in the Mission Co-op Program offered by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith is another visible way for us to experience the communion of churches in our Roman Catholic Church. Your generous sacrificial stewardship enables these mission dioceses to continue to provide for the needs of their members and offer basic services to increase the quality of life. Together we continue to advance the mission that Jesus Christ left for us -- His Church.

The Martha Mary Guild Clothing Sale is

beginning to gather momentum. The ladies work very hard to make this sale a huge success. Take time to review your clothes.

Perhaps there are some that are now too big?

Consider donating them to this cause. All proceeds of the sale benefit the charitable works of the Martha Mary Guild. More information is included in this bulletin.

We are completing the second phase of work on Madonna Hall. I am grateful to everyone for their patience during these past few months.

Next we will purchase some rectangular tables on wheels like those in the parish hall. These will make it easier to set up for some special events. We will begin cleaning all of the Heating-Ventilation-AC duct work throughout our campus. Some of these are a decade or so old; other areas are more than 25 years old. We have no records indicating that they have ever been cleaned.

This is a major expenditure that is important maintenance to care for the equipment that provides for our HVAC. This project is expected to take 3-5 weeks. Thank you for your patience during this project.

Preparations for our Love Thy Neighbor-45th Anniversary of the establishment of our Parish are continuing nicely. Tickets and sponsorships are available online. Buy your ticket today in order to participate in this great event. Preparations continue for our Parish Mission. This is a great time for us to pause and allow the Lord to fill the glass of our life spiritually. Check out more details in the coming bulletins. Enjoy the remaining days of Summer.
