What is Eucharistic Adoration?

Understood simply, Eucharistic Adoration is adoring or honoring the Eucharistic Presence of Christ. In a deeper sense, it involves "the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ truly present before us". During Eucharistic Adoration, we "watch and wait", we remain "silent" in His Presence and open ourselves to His Graces which flow from the Eucharist ... By worshiping the Eucharistic Jesus, we become what God wants us to be! Like a magnet, The Lord draws us to Himself and gently transforms us. In its fullest essence ...

Eucharistic Adoration is "God and Man reaching out for each other, at the same time!" The Monstrance contains the Sacred Host. At all other times, the reserved Sacrament is kept locked in the Tabernacle, so that the faithful may pray in the presence of the Sacrament.

The Eucharist is: Jesus truly present Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity!

Reminder for ONLINE RE Students.

Deadline for completion of the Online Learning Program is Monday, 1 May. If your child(ren) has not completed the program by Monday, 1 May, you will not be permitted to enroll them in next year's RE classes, but instead will have to repeat this year. If you are registered for summer, but your current online program is incomplete, then they will be moved into the summer grade that corresponds with THIS year and not next.

Most of you are cruising right along, but it seems many of you have not completed much of the curriculum up to this point. It can still be done, but there needs to be immediate attention given.

Please remember parents are the primary religious educators of their children.

Quo vadis…

My Dear Parishioners: Today we celebrate the Third Sunday of Easter. Jesus was busy on his resurrection day! No wonder the early Church from the very beginning chose the first day of the week for breaking bread—celebrating Eucharist. This is why, for us, Eucharist— “breaking of bread”—is so pivotal; here we encounter the risen Jesus, share in his meal, and become ourselves, the risen presence for others. Here we engage the dying and rising that is the pattern of our everyday living.

Here we promise to allow our own bodies to be broken so that others might have new life.

We continue our journey through the liturgical season of Easter. The music and environment for our liturgy reflect this reality. We maintain the seasonal psalm and Mass-part settings. The Easter Season is a time when the Universal Church celebrates in a very deliberate way the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. Our parish too celebrates these sacraments. Pray for the parents and family members of our candidates for First Holy Communion. If you would like to learn more about our Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation, contact our Faith Formation Staff. We will celebrate First Holy Communion this weekend and again next weekend during this month.

Let us congratulate these children, their parents, godparents, grandparents, catechists and all who nurture their faith development.

Registration has gone out for Summer Intensive Religious Education (August is fully subscribed; July has a few more

openings) as well as for the next year online program, Confirmation Sacramental Preparation and the First Penance/First Eucharist Tuesday program. We continue to develop initiatives to assist parents in forming their children while encouraging them to make the regular celebration a central priority in family life. We have been advised that His Excellency, The Most Reverend Bishop of Trenton, will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation here in our parish during the Fall.

Thanks to all those who help to set up Agape. It is such a nice way to get to meet parishioners who have recently joined us as well as those who are seasoned STMCN stakeholders. Take a look at the upcoming events scheduled in our parish community.

Make time to participate whenever you can.

Many thanks to those who have made a gift to this Faith to Move Mountains Capital Endowment Campaign (which for our parish includes the Annual Catholic Appeal for calendar years 2016, 2017, 2018). To those who have not made your gift, please consider making your gift as soon as possible so that we can make our goal.

We will publish the final tally for our 2017 Easter Collection in the coming weeks. Please make your gift as soon as possible using the Easter Envelope that has been mailed to all of our registered parishioners listed in our parish census.

Also known as America’s Catholic Church, the National Shrine has been a century in the making, built by and for the faithful of our great nation in honor of our Blessed Mother, the patroness of the United States.

Jesus is the faithful friend who never abandons us.

Even when we sin, he patiently awaits our return; by that patient expectation, he shows us his readiness to forgive."

Pope Francis wrote these words in his Message for Lent this year. Such a beautiful reminder of the obligation that we have and need to work toward -making not just Lent, but our entire life on this earth, a journey of conversion.

Yet, there is so much to distract us from the important things of life, isn't there? There are so many things that can put enormous obstacles in our way. We can be lured away by the world and all that it offers only to feel empty and unsatisfied.

And all too often, for every step forward that we take in our personal conversion, we may find ourselves falling two steps back and become discouraged. However, we must remember that the measure of conversion is also in the effort, and not just in the success. So, forge ahead and strive to make this Lent, and your entire life, a marvelous journey toward the Lord!

It is my daily prayer that our work at Domestic Church Media and our Catholic radio stations will assist you on this great journey. We, like the Church; exist to evangelize and proclaim the Gospel with great joy. Thank you for listening and for your continued prayers and support. We can't be here without you!

Join us for a faith inspired movie once a month in 2017.

The Movies Series continues with: ServiceWorX is a week-long service immersion program for youth going into 7th and 8th grades and current 8th graders who are still in need of service hours or a service experience (current 6th, 7th and 8th graders and confirmation prep students). The camp explores the Catholic faith through hands on service opportunities at local agencies and organizations.

ServiceWorX is held at Saint Mary Parish in conjunction with local organizations. To date service opportunities have been secured with Lunch Break, a food bank in Red Bank and Care One at Holmdel, a nursing home.

ServiceWorX Program will begin on Sunday, June 25, 2017 with attendance required at the 12:00 noon Mass at Saint Mary Parish. Immediately following Mass, attend a Kick-off informational meeting for participants and at least (1) parent in Madonna hall. Pizza and refreshments will be served.

Program continues throughout the week: Monday, 26 June - Friday, 30 June 30 from 8:30 am-4:00 pm.

2017 Easter Egg Hunt This years Easter Egg Hunt held on the Octave of Easter, Sunday, 23 April was a wonderful event. The weather was warm and sunny. The hunt took place outside on the parish grounds behind Madonna Hall.

200 attendees (over 100 young participants ages newborn to 11 years, teen volunteers and parents) enjoyed faith-filled crafts, face painting and religious tattoos, live bunnies, a visit from the Easter Bunny, homemade refreshments and the Easter Egg Hunt with over 3200 filled eggs!!

Teen chairs Stephen Ciccarone & Mary Natale for all their planning and direction 42 teens and adults who filled 3200 eggs and prepared crafts two Wed. evenings 45 adult and youth volunteers who helped the day of the event: set-up, decorations, costume Easter bunny, photography, hide eggs, crafts, face painting, tattoos, clean-up and breakdown of the event. W e couldn't do it without you!!!

Adele Sessa for bringing the beautiful live bunnies that everyone loves!!

The Natale and Ciccarone Families for their donations and all the extra help Special Thanks to the 7th/8th grade families for donating 90% of the Easter candy used to fill the eggs and the baked goods, fruit and vegetables for the refreshments
