PULASKI, IN - Michael Edward

“Mike” Cloud, 72, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at his home. He was born August 4, 1953 to the late George and Lucille (Eller) Cloud. On October 17, 1981 he married Judy Kaye Manns. Mike attended school in Pulaski, Star City and graduated from Winamac Coummunity High School in 1971. His career spanned many industries including farming, truck driving, manufacturing and he retired from BraunAbility where he retired as a Quarter Century Club member after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, cheering on local youth sports, playing Euchre and Solitaire, watching old sci-fi and westerns, checking the NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day, telling funny stories of his youth, fishing, boating and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, one daughter, Rebecca (Andy) DePoy of Winamac, Indiana, one son, Benjamin (Amber) Cloud of Lexington, Kentucky, three grandsons and three siblings: Pat, Cindy and Dave.

Private services were held and burial was in the Pulaski Presbyterian Community Cemetery in Pulaski. Memorials may be made to Friends of Tippecanoe River State Park or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

HENRIETTA BAILEY VALPARAISO, IN - FORMERLY OF MEDARYVILLE, IN - Henrietta Bailey, 91, died Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Life Care Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born November 3, 1934 in Kingsford, Michigan to the late Henry and Ruth (McKeller) Wayberg.

Henrietta spent most of her life as a seamstress, working in three garment factories and as a worker in a cabinet making factory. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing, word searches, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by three daughters: Kristine (David) Krug and Kathleen (David) Spitler, both of Valparaiso, Indiana and Shelby Risner of North Judson, Indiana, two sons: Henry (Sherry Cole) Bailey and Mark (Tina) Bailey, both of Medaryville, Indiana, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two sisters: Karen Gutterman of Michigan City, Indiana and Kristine Hershman of El Paso, Texas. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Cleatis Bailey, one son, Cleatis Dean Bailey and siblings: John Wayberg, Lucille Yee, Audrey Wright, Gladys Westlund, Betty Guffey and Darwin Wayberg.

Services were held Saturday, May 16 at Frain Mortuary. Burial was in the White Post Cemetery in Medaryville. Memorials may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Winfield, Indiana.

BUFORD GLENN MILLER

KNOX, IN - Buford Glenn Miller, 70, died Sunday, May 10, 2026 in Knox, Indiana. He was born January 26, 1956 in Knox, to the late Hoy and Mirley (Smith) Miller.

Buford was a born again believer in Jesus Christ. He enjoyed playing basketball, fishing, looking for mushrooms, taking in the scenery, spreading the word of God and spending time with is family.

He is survived by siblings: Homer Miller of Knox, Clifford (Diana) Miller of Big Sandy, Tennessee, Jeremy (Tabitha) Miller of Camden, Tennessee, Karen Shepherd of Knox and Fern (Galen) Brown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was preceded in death by siblings: Amos and Hoye Miller, Betty Siebenhaar and Barbara Miller.

Services were held Friday, May 15 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Lozier officiating. Burial was in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox. Memorials may be made to the family.

BONNIE JEAN PECK

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Bonnie Jean Peck, 83, died Friday, May 1, 2026. She was born May 13, 1942 in Gary, Indiana to the late Ruby and Robert Beckett. On July 2, 1960 she married Dennis Lee Peck.

Bonnie enjoyed playing many types of games and puzzles. She loved her family very much.

She is survived by two daughters: Dawn M. Rojas and Juli K Hayes, both of North Judson, eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one brother, John (Diana) Beckett of Hobart, Indiana.

A gathering of family and friends was held on Sunday, May 17 at the O’Donnell Funeral Home. She and Dennis will be buried in the San Pierre Cemetery in San Pierre, Indiana.

Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.

MARIE MILLER

KNOX, IN - Marie Miller, 84, died Sunday, May 10, 2026. She was born December 20, 1941 in San Pierre, Indiana to the late Frank Joseph and Eleanor Evelyn Lapacek.

Marie will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

She is survived by eleven stepchildren: Dawn (Joseph) Kohn, Sherry (Dennis) Fields, Christina (Daniel) Bosselier, Marlene (Hesham) Khalil, Kenneth Minix, Dwayne (Wenlyn) Minix, Connie (Jerald) Riddles, Vonda (Bill) Crase, Donna Jordan, Vicki (Larry) Jordan and Roy (Cindy) Minix, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

No services will be held per her wishes.

RICHARD E. AND DORIS M. POWERS

FORT MADISON, IA - Graveside services for Richard E. and Doris M. Powers will be held at 9am EDT on Saturday, May 16 at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac with Rev. Anthony Rowland officiating. Richard, 98, was born August 30, 1922 in Star City, Indiana to the late Albert and Hazel (Zellers) Powers. He died December 4, 2020 in Fort Madison, Iowa. Doris, 97, was born on May 18, 1928 in Winamac, Indiana to the late Albert and Arena (Malchow)

Westphal. She died December 22, 2025 in Fort Madison. They were married on December 1, 1946 in Medaryville, Indiana. They were longtime members of the Holy Family Parish in Fort Madison.

They are survived by their children: Jean Ann (Dennis) Kelly of Lewisville, Texas and John (Nancy) Powers of Burlington, Iowa, six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. They were preceded in death by one daughter, Marilyn Powers and Richard’s ten siblings.

Memorials may be made to the Pulaski County Human Services Food Pantry in Winamac.

BOCHNICKA JR.

NORTH JUDSON, IN - John P. “Boch” or “Face” Bochnicka Jr., 56, died Thursday, May 7, 2026 in a car accident. He was born August 29, 1969 in Knox, Indiana to John Bochnicka and Sherry Sams. John was a 1988 graduate of North Judson-San Pierre High School, North Judson, Indiana, where he was a starting lineman on the Bluejays 1987 State Runner-Up team. He loved working on cars, helping others, being outdoors, going on adventures and searching yards sales for treasures. He loved his family very much.

He is survived by his daughters: Miranda (Nickolas) McCallum and Mariah (Dalston Fawley), Bochnicka, both of North Judson and Breighlee Bochnicka of Portage, Indiana, four grandchildren, his father, John (Holley) Bochnicka of North Judson, his mother, Sherry Sams of Texas, siblings: Tom (Cheryl) Bochnicka of Monticello, Indiana and Rhonda Mackey of Ohio and his former wife, Debbie (Sanchez) Paul of North Judson.

A gathering of family and friends was held Friday, May 15. Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.

MARGIE MAE DELLER

WINAMAC, IN - Margie Mae Deller, 73, died Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac, Indiana. She was born December 2, 1952 in Winamac. Margie was a Winamac High School graduate and had worked as a CNA most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winamac. She enjoyed fishing, camping at Lake Bruce, going out to eat, doing puzzles and working on her coloring books. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by one daughter, JoAnna Lynn Deller of Winamac, one son, Michael Shaun (Jamie) Deller of Salem, Missouri, seven grandchildren and siblings: Lydia Jean White of Lafayette, Indiana, Jerry Ralph Freeman of Winamac and Pauline Jane Cashman of Marseilles, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Raymond and Ruth Marcella (Edlin) Freeman and siblings: Norma Lee Schermerhorn, James Edward Freeman, Rena Ann Hoover, Darl Dean Hoover-Shreve and Carol Sue Hoover-Smith. Visitation from 12 Noon to 2pm EDT on Saturday, May 23 at Frain Mortuary with services beginning at 2pm with Pastor Mark Pilger officiating. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery (Town Addition). Memorials may be made to the family c/o Michael Deller. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

Mary Louise Pacilio Ingram, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 11, 2026. She was born September 20, 1950 on the Pacilio family farm to Joseph Sr. and Mary (Di Timmaso) Pacilio. Mary L. graduated from North Judson-San Pierre High School in 1968. Mary and Kerry Sr. married July 3, 1970. She attended Beauty College to become a beautician at The Carousel in North Judson, Indiana.

To know Mary is to know love. Loving was her life’s work and she loved hard and deep. She was passionate about her work as a beautician, cooking, and flowers, but most importantly, she loved her family. A nurturing soul, Mary supported her family unconditionally and found her greatest joy in her friends and family. Mary’s love wasn’t quiet, or small, it was woven into every part of her life and she remained proud of her heritage and her loved ones.

Mary’s survivors include her husband Kerry L. Ingram Sr. of 55 years, their children: Kerry L. Jr. (Christene), Benjamin W. (Jill), Zachary J. (Chrystal), Aaron N. (Caitlyn), 14 grandchildren: Nicholus (Yaritza), Joseph, Christian, Mariabella, Celestina, Francesca, Beniamina, Vittorio, Rocco, Maxwell, Alexander, Rexford, Stella, and Beau, sister Frances Reidelbach (Charles). Predeceased are her parents, Joseph Sr. and Mary Pacilio, brothers: Venture and Joseph and sister Celestina.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on May 15, 2026 at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, North Judson, Indiana.

Donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul, SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.

BRANDIE NICHOLE BURNS

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Brandie Nichole Burns died Saturday, April 25, 2026. She was born December 13, 1981 in Memphis, Tennessee to Linda (Minder) Lee SewellSweet and Edward William Sewell Jr.

Brandie was a proud graduate of Ancilla University in nursing, but dedicated her life to advocate for her children and those of special needs in her community. She loved reading, animals, traveling, sharing her humor and love. Her greatest love was her family.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin, four children: Ryver Burns and Ayden Burns, both of North Judson, Domonique (Emily) Burns of Hobart, Indiana and Roan Burns of Flint, Michigan and sisters: Ashley (Patrick) Poindexter of Knox, Indiana and Rachael (Zach) Surfus of Koontz Lake, Indiana and Angela Burns of Hobart. She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda.

A gathering of family was held on Wednesday, April 29.

JAMES F. WINTERS

WINAMAC, IN - FORMERLY OF MONTEREY, IN - James F. Winters, 66, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. He was born April 21, 1960 in Hammond, Indiana to Frank L. and Joan L. (Natke) Winters. James was a retired welder. He is survived by his father, Frank and two brothers: Michael (Julie) Winters and Brian (Sally) Winters. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan and one brother, David Winters.

No services will be held at this time. Entombment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac. Memorials may be made in mass intentions at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monterey.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

EDDIE LEE SMITH

KNOX, IN - Eddie Lee Smith, 69, died Thursday, May 14, 2026. He was born July 8, 1956 in Knox, Indiana to Edgar and Ressie Marie Smith. On October 27, 1973, he married Janet Fisher.

Eddie worked as a truck driver and diesel mechanic most of his life. He enjoyed a lifetime of traveling, hunting, fishing, gardening and motorcycle riding with friends. He was a proud member of Chapter 131 American Legion Riders in Knox and served as the Riders Assistant Director. He is survived by his wife, Janet, five children: Bethany (James) Davis, Kristina (Dennis) Trusty, Edward Smith, Jacob Smith and Grace (Kevin) Yeoman, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three siblings: Wanda (Ron) Suryk, Brenda (Jay) Wiley and Rick (Sherry) Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Ressie and one great grandson, Julian Gonzalez. A private gathering for immediate family was held on Sunday, May 17. Memorials may be made to the Starke County Humane Society. Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

JOHN P. FALVEY

ELKHART, IN - John P. Falvey, 84, died Monday, February 23, 2026 in Elkhart, Indiana. He was born August 25, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Kenneth and Hazel (Goodrid) Falvey.

John was a graduate of Knox High School and Saint Joseph’s College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He then returned home to carry on the family tradition, becoming the third-generation owner and operator of the Falvey’s family clothing business. He was an avid aviator and was licensed to fly single and multi engine aircraft as well as helicopters. He then became a driver for some of the music industry’s top entertainers, driving them across the US and Canada.

He is survived by one son, Kevin (Aimee) Falvey, one daughter, Kimberly (Phil) Balint, one granddaughter, one great granddaughter and one brother, Patrick Falvey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Hazel and two brothers: Timothy M. and Michael Falvey.

A memorial mass will be held at 11am CT on Thursday, May 28 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Knox. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.

Jack E. Dusek, Jr.

9/4/1951-4/4/2026

Jack E. Dusek, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family members on April 4, 2026. Jack was a “junior” to his father, Jack E. Dusek, Sr. and was the oldest of the six children of Jack, Sr. and his dear wife, Shirley Jean Mow Dusek.

Jack is survived by his “main squeeze” and later wife of nearly wonderful 40 years, America (“Amy”) McAlpinDusek, and his younger siblings: brother James Christopher (“Chris”) Dusek, sister Terri Elaine (Clayton) Shepard, sister Jean Marie (David) Buczek, brother Scott Eric (Charlotte) Dusek and sister, Rebecca Helen Dusek and partner, Robert Wheeler, and many, many special and beloved nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who were all like his own dear children. Jack was a protective and bossy big brother to his siblings and a fun-loving, generous “Uncle Jack” to his nieces, nephews and many precious other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and other dear and special relatives and friends.

Jack was born in LaPorte, Indiana and grew up in North Judson, Indiana, once an important railroad town, where he learned to love trainspotting, especially trains running on the tracks right across the street from his family home. He graduated from North Judson San Pierre High School in 1969 and from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He then graduated from the Methodist Hospital of Gary’s School of Medical Technology, after which he received his B.S. degree in Allied Health Sciences from IU. Thereafter, he attained his registration as a Medical Technologist, MT(ASCP). He later earned a B.A. in Accounting from Indiana University Northwest, becoming an expert at preparing his own and other family members’ tax returns.

Jack went on to have a successful career of 42 years as an MT, including having served as an Assistant Clinical Laboratory Manager during that time. Jack was employed as an MT at several hospitals in Northwest Indiana and Chicago, retiring in 2018 from Ingalls Memorial Hospital, currently the University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial in Harvey, Illinois. He remained friends with many of his great co-workers there and enjoyed holidays and other good times with them over the years.

Jack was a knowledgeable and capable muscle car buff and auto mechanic, having bought and worked on both his first car, a red 1962 Chevy II, in his teens and later on restoring an exact replica of that car he bought as a “project car”. He attended many Power Tour events hosted by Hot Rod Magazine and other car shows across the country over many years with his best and long-time friend, Larry Pixey. Jack was a life-long model train hobbyist and served as Treasurer of Ridge Model Rail Roaders in Griffith, Indiana for several years. He was also a long-time supporter of the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum located in North Judson. He spent lots of good times chasing trains, and enjoying train shows and swap meets with his nephew and “super train buff” pal, Kaiden Roberts.

Also, a knowledgeable history buff, Jack was an enthusiastic Civil War reenactor with the 9th Regiment Infantry Indiana Volunteers, Company E (the “9th Indiana”) group, honoring an actual federal unit that fought during the Civil War. He also served as Treasurer, then President, of the 9th Indiana and spent many happy days at Civil War reenactments held at or near actual Civil War battlegrounds around the country. He enjoyed many happy times during reenactments marching into “battle” with his comrades during the day and then relaxing around the campfire with them in the evening. Jack became an Indiana Master Naturalist in 2023, having lots of good times visiting parks and other natural areas including many throughout the Midwest and Florida. After his retirement, Jack trained and was sworn in by the Lake County Superior Court as a volunteer guardian with the Volunteer Advocates for Seniors and Incapacitated Adults (VASIA) Program of Franciscan Health in Dyer, Indiana. In that Program, Jack served as the volunteer guardian for and friend of an elderly gentleman who had no family or friends to assist him in the final year of his life.

Jack and Amy enjoyed traveling and were blessed to be able to visit multiple countries and places including Alaska and others in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, various places in the Caribbean, and wildlife safaris in Kenya and Tanzania over their 51 years together.

Jack’s fun-loving and generous spirit will be remembered and sorely missed by many wonderful, beloved family and friends. A memorial service for Jack will be scheduled at a later date.
