GARRY EUGENE HINDERLIDER
KNOX, IN - Garry Eugene Hinderlider, 67, died Friday, September 5, 2025 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born January 18, 1958 in Winamac, Indiana to the late John Elmo and Mary Katherine (Morrison) Hinderlider, Jr.
Garry was a 1976 graduate of Culver High School in Culver, Indiana. He was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors and in his retirement he worked part time at Advanced Auto in Knox. He enjoyed traveling, visiting 49 states and paint ball with friends and family. He loved his family very much.
He is survived by three sons: William Carl (Jill) Hinderlider of Plymouth, Indiana, David Allen (Amber) Hinderlider of Warsaw, Indiana and Devon Matthew Hinderlider of Bass Lake, Indiana, three daughters: Lisa Jo Hinderlider of Culver, Carrie Chantee Thomas of Daytona Beach, Florida and Casandra Rose (Nick) Wolff of Cream Ridge, New Jersey, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and siblings: Morris (Val) Hinderlider, Jack (Doris Ann) Hinderlider, Susie (Gene) Lincoln, Deloris (John) Locke and Doris Smith. He was preceded in death by his former spouse, Donna Tyson, and siblings: Twannette Densmore, Myrna Posthuma and William Carl Hinderlider.

RONALD RAY WHITAKER
NOBLESVILLE, IN - FORMERLY OF KNOX, IN - Ronald Ray Whitaker, 62, died Friday, September 12, 2025 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born August 2, 1963 in Montpelier, Ohio to the late Henry and Loretta (Marshall) Whitaker.
Ronnie drove a truck for 42 years. He enjoyed truck driving, riding horses, camping, cookouts and family gatherings. He will be missed.
He is survived by one son, Adam Risner of Knox, one daughter, Courtney (Tom Sobieck) Whitaker of Valparaiso, Indiana, three grandchildren, one sister, Glenna (Dave) Fitzgerald of Noblesville and two brothers: Jay (Vicki) Whitaker of Knox and Rocky Whitaker of Plymouth, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta Sue Whitaker and grandparents: Taylor Marshall, Mary Marshall, Lavatis Minix and Lewis Whitaker.
Friends will b received from 4-8pm CST on Thursday, September 18 at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 11am CST on Friday, September 19 at the funeral home with Pastor Ted Dilts officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.

DANNY WAYNE HARMON
KNOX, IN - Danny Wayne Harmon, 68, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025 in Munster, Indiana. He was born March 14, 1957 in La Porte, Indiana to Max and Ila (Long) Harmon.
Danny enjoyed mowing his yard, cooking, riding his Harley, watching football and spending time with his family. He worked as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, two sons: Joshua (Lilibeth) Harmon of Mishawaka, Indiana and Hercules (Nancy) Harmon of La Porte, two grandchildren, his mother, Ila Harmon of Knox and three brothers: Greg (Bea) Harmon of Argos, Indiana, Brian (Irene) Harmon of Knox and Paul Harmon of Texas. He was preceded in death by one son, Nicholas Harmon, his father, Max and siblings: Thomas and Nancy Harmon.
Services were held Tuesday, September 16 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial was in the Oak Park Cemetery in Knox. Memorials may be made to the family.

WANDA L. JONES
KNOX, IN - Wanda L. Jones, 71, deid Friday, September 12, 2025 at her home. She was born July 23, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois.
Wanda was a retired surgery technician. She loved horses and spending time with her grandkids. She is survived by two daughters: Joann (David) Paul of Caledonia, Wisconsin and Jennifer (Ron) Aversano of Knox, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and her mother, Joan Chambers of Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Jones, one son, Sean Howell and her father, Kenneth Watson.
Visitation from 5-7pm CT on Wednesday, September 17 at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 19 at 11am Ct at Dundee Township East Cemetery in East Dundee, Illinois.

REV. EARL SMITH
CULVER, IN - Rev. Earl Smith, 79 died Saturday, September 13, 2025 in Culver, Indiana. He was born Sunday, December 9, 1945 in Tip Top, Kentucky to the late Troy Smith and Nanie (Clemons) Joseph.
Earl was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from owning his plumbing and heating business in 1998. He enjoyed creating wood working projects, attending various churches in the area as a guest preacher and ministering to those in need.
He is survived by his wife, Ines Prater-Smith, one son, Chris (Kristy) Smith, two daughters: Tammy (Fred) Hartman and Lisa (Matt) Gundlach, all of North Judson, Indiana, four step sons: Jeff (Lori) Abrams, David (Virginia) Abrams and James (Michelle) Prater, all of North Judson and Greg (Christy) Prater of Woodruff, Wisconsin, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother, Arthur Manns of Jackson, Kentucky and three sisters: Dulcine (John) Hunnicutt and Barbara (Larry) Robinson, both of Knox and Doris Jean Fox of Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Smith, step son Lance Abrams, and siblings: Troy Smith Jr, Charles Smith, Thelma Minix, Madeline Wireman and Lynn Patrick.
Friends will be received from 10am till time of service at 1pm on Wednesday, September 17 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox. Memorials may be made to the family.

PAUL R. KNACHEL
Paul R. Knachel, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025 surrounded by his family and two cherished dogs at his home in Libertyville, IL. He was born February 13, 1942 in North Judson, IN, and had been a Libertyville resident since 1976. Paul was a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, the Acacia Fraternity President and was a United States Army veteran, having served in Germany. He was a retired employee of Allstate Insurance Company and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Libertyville. Paul was a longtime member of Libertyville Mainstreet Board of Directors, receiving their Lifetime Achievement award for beginning their gift certificate program. His favorite quote was,”It’s nice, to be nice, to the nice,” from the TV show M*A*S*H. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Gail E. (Shultz) Knachel; 2 children, Elizabeth G. Knachel and Todd R. (Tarn) Knachel; granddaughter, Charlotte; sister, Cheryl Orkis and by many loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Sylvia (Vendl) Knachel and Verdayne Knachel of North Judson, Indiana. Services were held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church in Libertyville. Interment was in the Lakeside Cemetery. Arrangements by Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville.
