JAMES LEE GILDON

FRANCESVILLE, IN - FORMERLY

OF GARY, IN - James Lee “Jim” Gildon, 73, died at his home unexpectedly on Friday, November 7, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1951 in Gary, Indiana to the late Levi and Alice (Duncan) Gildon. In 1971, he married Patricia Warner in Gary. In 1986, He married Barbara Joyce McBride in Gary. She passed away on March 20, 2010. In 2011, he married Toni Partee. She passed away on February 12, 2023.

Jim graduated in 1969 from Froeble High School in Gary. He was an accomplished bowler. In his younger years, he was an avid DJ with an impressive collection of 45’s. He enjoyed traveling, especially road trips across the country. It was well-known that the State of Montana was his favorite place to visit. Jim retired from Arcelor Mittal as an overhead crane operator after 42 years. His co-workers affectionately called him “Big Jim”. For many years, he attended church at the Eternal Word Ministry. He has attended the Medaryville Assembly of God Church since moving to the area nearly 20 years ago. He led a prison ministry for a long time. He was a loving father and faithful sibling who will be deeply missed.

He is survived by one daughter, Shahannon Gildon, two sons: Jamey (Tonda) Gildon and Kelvin (Zeta) Hines, two step daughters: Egypt (Byron) Payne, Latavia (Darrell) Sharkey, one step son, Michael Laslovich, a host of grandchildren, siblings: Levi Gildon, Andrea (Charles) Boykin and Judy Sims and his former wife, Patricia Florence.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon – 1 PM EST Saturday, November 22 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, Indiana with services starting at 1 PM EST with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating. Private Burial will take place at Osborne Cemetery in Rensselaer, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Medaryville Assembly of God Church.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Medaryville.

CLEDA MAE TRUSTY CHILDERS

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Cleda Mae Trusty Childers died Wednesday November 12, 2025 in her home in North Judson, Indiana. She was born on March 5th, 1932 in Guage, Breathitt County, Kentucky to L.D. Back Jr. and Viola Brown Back. At the age of sixteen she married Wade Trusty. He died in March of 1980. In 1985, in Tennessee, she married Bill (Billy Don) Childers. Cleda was a homemaker until 1965 when the move to Indiana from Kentucky had her move into the workforce. Thirteen and a half years later the closing of the factory(Simmons Co.) forced her to retire from the upholstery business. She has made quilts for all her children and grandchildren with plenty to spare. Her cooking and baking were second to none with her specialty being chicken and dumplings. She is survived by her children: Levelle Dave Roemer, Eurasula (Ken) Dolezal, Theresa (Robert) Roy and Gregory (Diane) Trusty, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents L.D. and Viola, her seven brothers Freman Back, Ray Back, Lee Back, Chalmer Back, Roy Back, Russell Back and Clyde Kenneth Back, her son Ron Trusty, and one infant grandchild, Jordan Wade Trusty, and infant Great Grandchild Hope Anderson.

Due to Cleda’s love of following her Granddaughter as a Lady Jay,

the family asks that your donations be made in Cleda’s name to NJSP Lady Jays Athletics 1 Bluejay Dr. North Judson, Indiana 46366.

Services were held Tuesday, November 18 at the Braman and Bailey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery in North Judson, Indiana.

EDWARD E. KNEPPLE

ORA, IN - Edward E. Knepple, age 74, died Thursday, November 13, 2025. He was born August 12, 1951 in Niles, Michigan to the late Robert Knepple and Evelyn Joan Morse Knepple. On February 15, 1985 he married Marilyn Crim. Edward loved anything outdoors, including hiking, travel and riding his E-bike. He also loved watching football and Nascar. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Nick and Terry Knepple. A graveside service was held at Alexander Heinemann Cemetery in Ora on Monday, November 17.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox, Indiana.

WILLIAM FREDERICK BODINE II

TRAVERSE CITY, MI - Wiliam

“Bill” Frederick Bodine II died on Saturday, November 8, 2025. He was born on February 25, 1974 in Landstuhl Germany, to William Frederick Bodine of Knox, Indiana and Virginia (Miller) Alderman of Lehigh Acres, Florida.

Bill exhibited an unusual aptitude at a young age in science and technology. He was a self-taught information technology specialist capable of identifying and fixing system vulnerabilities. Incredibly intelligent and creative, he built computers and models in his spare time, but he also enjoyed more leisurely pursuits like producing and programming live music sets and creating and playing computer games. Bill had a dark sense of humor, but a loving sensitive heart.

Life presented many challenges to him, but he always found a way to learn from these difficulties and make a change for the better.

Bill is survived by his father William(Pamela) Bodine of Knox, Indiana; sister Angela(Rick) Harris of Huntley, Illinois; sister Mary(Jeffery) Ruffner of Fishers, Indiana; half-brother Andrew J. Bodine of Knox, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia.

Services to be held at a later date with interment to be held at Eagle Creek Cemetery.

Arrangements were made by Braman and Son Memoiral Chapel of Knox.

HANNAH M. DOMMER

WINAMAC, IN - Hannah M. Dommer, 92, died Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Winamac. She was born on June 24, 1933 in Francesville, IN to the late William and Minnie (Doll) Garling. On August 15, 1953, she married Donald G. Dommer in Winamac. He died on October 27, 2025.

Hannah graduated from Francesville High School in 1951. She was a longtime member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and served the church faithfully throughout the years. She loved being homemaker and her family brought her great joy, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hannah will be deeply missed by all who know and loved her.

She is survived by her children: Kim Goodridge of Kokomo, Indiana and Mark (Jodie) Dommer, Winamac, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings: Edith Tucker and Robert Garling.

Visitation will be from 11 AM – 1 PM EST Friday, November 21, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Graveside Services will be held at 2 PM EST Friday, November 21, at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac. Memorials may be made to Hickory Creek Nursing Home or Dunes Hospice.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
