GREGORY MARK PLOWMAN

WINAMAC, IN - Gregory Mark “Greg” Plowman, 71, died Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at his home. He was born May 11, 1954 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Virgil R. and Doris J. (Keller-Horton) Plowman.

Greg was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. He was a proud member of the Boilermakers Union Local #374 in Hammond and retired in 2012. He was a talented cook and enjoyed the outdoors and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by one son, Larry Gregory (Mary Lee Patt) Plowman Kryck of Las Vegas, Nevada, one adopted daughter, Crystal Miller and siblings: Stephen (Penny) Plowman and Bruce (Iris) Plowman both of Bruce Lake, Indiana and Lisa (Paul) Altman of Winamac.

A memorial service will be held at 11am EDT on Saturday, May 24 at the First Baptist Church in Winamac with Pastor Mark Pilger officiating. Private burial will take place at Black Pond Cemetery in Oregon County, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o Crystal Miller. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

DOROTHY BALDWIN

KINGSFORD HEIGHTS, IN - Dorothy Baldwin, 80, died Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at her home. She was born January 9, 1945 in Royalton, Kentucky to the late John W. and Tressie Fletcher Patton.

She is survived by her children: John (Jackie) Salyer of La Porte, Indiana and Cindy (Alan) Bailey of Asheville, North Carolina, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and siblings: Nettie Fletcher and Lloyd Patton, both of Salyersville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Baldwin and nine siblings.

Services were held Monday, May 19, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial was in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox, Indiana.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

SALLIE A. TIBBS

ROOSEVELT, UT - Sallie A. Tibbs, 87, died Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Rocky Mountain Care Nursing Home in Heber City, Utah. She was born January 29, 1938 in Galdia, Kentucky.

Sallie had served in the US Army WAC.

She is survived by one son, Ronny Tibbs, numerous grandchildren and two siblings: Amos Allen of Medaryville, Indiana and Bertha Todd of Wheatfield, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roland Tibbs, her second husband, Clarence Tibbs, one daughter, Lillian L. “Lucy” Mortenson, two sons: Eric D. and Joey Tibbs and siblings: Susie Dickinson, Christine Woodward, Madeline Tetzloff and Rex, Albert and James Allen.

Graveside services will be held at 10am EDT on Thursday, May 22, in the Independence Cemetery in Medaryville with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating.

Local arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville.

GLORIA LOU BROWN

WINAMAC, IN - FORMERLY OF VALPARAISO AND PULASKI, INGloria Lou Brown, 89, died Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac, Indiana. She was born January 23, 1936 in Francesville, Indiana to the late Alvin Paul and Pearl Elsie (Boehning) Getz. On August 1, 1954, in Winamac, she married Newton H. “Newt” Brown, Jr. He died April 17, 2012.

Gloria was a talented freelance artist. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Kiwanis Club, Red Hat Society and the Home-Ec Club. She was active throughout her life and enjoyed the many friendships made. She loved her family very much.

She is survived by three daughters: Carla (Raymond) Miller, Paula Stone and Julie Clifton, one son, Newton (Kim) Brown III, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two sisters: Mary Westphal and Diane (Ron) Wolford. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marlene Mae Hornback.

Services were held Thursday, May 15 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel with Pastor Kim Powell officiating. Burial was in the Pulaski Presbyterian and Community Cemetery in Pulaski. Memorial contributions may be made to Pulaski Fest-A-Mill for annual Christmas light display.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville.

ANNA CRONAUER

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Anna Cronauer, 94, died Wednesday, May 7, 2025. She was born August 16, 1930 in Kirchberg im Wald, Germany, to the late Alfons and Katharina (Katzdobler) Sterl. On October 25, 1955, in Montreal, Canada, she married Theobald J. Cronauer Sr. Anna had an adventurous spirit, climbing to the top of Zugspitze (tallest mountain in Germany) with her grandson and riding a jet ski at the age of 92. She had worked various jobs which included restaurants in Germany and Canada, the Five Star grocery store and bartending at the Moose Lodge. She had volunteered as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, the American Red Cross and a variety of other events at her church and in the community. She enjoyed bowling, golf leagues, singing in the church choir, gardening and enjoying nature. She loved her family very much.

She is survived by one son, Theo (Shirley) Cronauer Jr., one grandson and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Theobald, one son, Al Cronauer, step father, Johann Augustin and siblings: Katharina Baumann, Alfons Sterl, Maria Bauer, Eduard Sterl and Günther Sterl.

Services were held Friday, May 16, at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Burial was in the St. Jacob Cemetery in North Judson. Memorials may be made to The Gathering Together in her name.

Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.
