GUY WYMA

LOGANSPORT, IN - Guy Wyma, 56, died Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born December 29, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to George J. and Holly J. (Eagle) Wyma. On April 16, 1999 in North Judson, Indiana, he married Rhonda Kain.

Guy was an animal lover, especially cats. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda, two sons: James E. (Tatjana) Fletcher II and Lance A. Fletcher, two grandchildren, his mother, Holly of Logansport, one brother, Jonathan (Bridgette) Wyma of Winamac, Indiana and three sisters: Barbara (Tony) Stovall of Peru, Indiana, Donna Wigfall and Betty Eagle of Grass Creek, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Joseph Alan Fletcher, his father, George J. Wyma, Sr. and one brother, George J. Wyma, Jr.

Services were held Thursday, June 19 at Frain Mortuary. Burial was in the Winamac Cemetery (McFarland Addition) in Winamac. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

ALEX FLAGG

ORA, IN - Alex Flagg, 73, died Monday, June 16,2025. He was born March 20, 1952 in Winamac, Indiana to the late Alfred and Lottie Flagg.

Alex was a veteran of the US Army and National Guard.

He is survived by his children: Carrie Flagg and Johnathan Flagg, both of Ora, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and siblings: Jeanette Rodriquez, Joann Busam, Alfred Junior Flagg and Jennifer McKinley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha and two brothers: Alvin Flagg and his twin, Charles Flagg.

A graveside service was held Thursday, June 19 at the Heinemann Cemetery in Ora.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

KATHLEEN IVY TAFF

WINAMAC, IN - Kathleen Ivy “Kathy” Taff, 63, died Thursday, June 19, 2025 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN. She was born November 1, 1961 in Logansport, Indiana to the late Thomas W. and Arvilla A. (Rater) Crissinger. On February 24, 2002 she married William M. “Fuzz” Taff. He died July 15,2002.

Kathy worked at Big A Auto Parts (Standard Auto) for many years. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding and spending time with her family. She is survived by one son, Christopher L. (Bethany) Joseph of Kewanna, Indiana, one daughter, Elizabeth A. Joseph of Rochester, Indiana, three step children: Amanda Luper, William H. Taff and J.C. Taff, eight grandchildren, one great grandson, six step grandchildren and four brothers: David T. (Elaine) Crissinger and Jonathan M. Crissinger, Sr, both of Winamac and Michael L. Crissinger and Jesse F. Peter, both of Star City, Indiana. She was preceded in death by one infant granddaughter, Breanna M. Joseph.

Services were held Tuesday, June 24 at Frain Mortuary with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Private burial was held at IOOF Riverview Cemetery in Monticello, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

ROBEFT NICOLAS BRIGGS

KNOX, IN - Robert Nicolas “Bob” Briggs, 82, died Tuesday, June 17, 2025. He was born November 8, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. In 1968, he married Jacqueline Jones.

Bob was a proud member of the United Steel Workers union for over 40 years. 20+ years at Wisconsin Steel Works and 20 years at BP Whiting Refinery where he retired in 1998. He enjoyed playing piano, clarinet and saxophone, competitive swimming, archery, bowling, drag racing, collecting and fishing.

He is survived by his children: Brad, Nikole and Michelle and one grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

PATRICIA LOUISE COSGRAY

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - Patricia Louise Cosgray, 86, died Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Ignite Medical Resort in McHenry, Illinois. She was born February 21, 1939 in Monterey, Indiana to the late Charles and Stella (Decker) Wentzel. On May 10, 1958 in Monterey, she married Thomas Cosgray. Patricia was a 1957 graduate of Aubbeenaubbe High School. She loved caring for and spending time with her loved ones, traveling, having visited 49 of the 50 states and attended a service with Pope John Paul. She was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Crystal Lake and a former member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monterey.

She is survived by four children: Jaqueline Cosgray, Dwayne (Nora) Cosgray, Karen (Jose) Cosgray and Darrel (Betsy) Cosgray, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, 1Lt. Arthur Wentzel, US Army and five sisters: Francis Parker, Mildred, Katie Sturdevant, Dorothy Listenberger and Mary Alice Fry.

Services were held Saturday, June 21 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Anne’s Cemetery in Monterey. Memorials may be made to St. Anne’s Cemetery.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

PAUL E. HETTINGER

WINAMAC, IN - Paul E. Hettinger, 96, died Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Winamac. He was born January 3, 1929 in Star City, Indiana to the late Ernest and Erma (Reinholt) Hettinger. On June 26, 1954 in Winamac, he married Shirley J. Wenner. She died November 23, 2023.

Paul was a life member of the Winamac VFW Post #1728 and the Winamac American Legion Post #71. He lived an active life. In his youth, he enjoyed racing go-carts. He and his wife enjoyed playing cards, roller skating and dancing. He was a bowler and golfer and an avid fisherman, enjoying family fishing trips to Wisconsin. He is survived by one daughter, Lera (Paul) Mayer and one son, Paul A. Hettinger, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings: Bill, Vera Mae and Mary Lou Hettinger.

Services were held Tuesday, June 24 at Frain Mortuary with Pastor Stephen Sundquist officiating. Burial was in the Bell Center Cemetery in Bell Center, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Winamac VFW Post #1728.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

Jason Lee Risner

Jason Lee Risner, 43 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away, Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was born Monday, October 19, 1981 in Laporte, Indiana, Son of Rita (Risner) Pier. January 6, 2023 in Knox, Indiana, Jason married Katherine Sons, she survives him.

Jason enjoyed reading, fishing and hunting. He loved the Buffalo Bills. His greatest passion was spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his Wife, Katherine Risner of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Mallory Risner of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Brittney Danekas of North Judson, Indiana, Daughter, Brooklyn Danekas of Peru, Indiana, 5 grandchildren, Mother Rita Risner of Knox, Indiana, Sister, Kayla Risner of North Judson, Indiana, Niece, Harper Wagoner of Knox, Indiana. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Willie and Velva Jean Risner, Aunt Mary, Uncle Willis and cousins Kim, Christopher and Bobby.

Friends will be received 4 PM to 8 PM, Wednesday, June 11 at the Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, North Judson, Indiana.

Services will be held at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 1 PM. Interment will follow in the Round Lake Cemetery, Knox, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the family.

The family of Jason Risner would like to thank everyone for your prayers and kind words about Jason “Boo”. Thank you to our family and friends for being there for us, words cannot express our gratitude. Thank you to Howard and Chris at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home for all their help making the arrangements. Thank you to the pall bearers, Boo loved each and every one of you. Thank you to everyone for the many cards and monetary gifts, the plants and windchimes, the flowers, the angels and lanterns, the bench and the blanket, everything is beautiful. Thank you to everyone that made or bought food for the dinner at the VFW, thank you to everyone that helped set up and clean up. Everything was delicious. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Boo is forever loved!

JAMES “JIM” KRUEGER

James “Jim” Krueger, 81 of San Pierre, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. He was born March 14, 1944, in Brems, to the late Everett and Rosemary (Bigler) Krueger. Jim graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1962, where he set a cross country record in the 2 mile that will never be broken. He proudly served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne in parachute packing, and maintenance and air delivery. Jim made his career as a self-employed carpenter with Krueger Construction, and legend has it that every house in LaCrosse has been roofed by Jim at one point. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Judson and the Wanatah American Legion Post 403. In his youth, Jim had been involved with 4-H, and he continued to stay active with the group through his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, watching Wheel of Fortune, and old westerns with The Duke and Matt Dillon. Jim was a devoted family man above all else. He loved showing up to support his grandchildren at their extracurricular activities. He also had a wonderful sense of humor, contagious smile, and ornery personality. Jim will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.

On December 28, 1991, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Medaryville, Jim married Phyllis Dust, who survives, along with children: Jason (Gabby) Krueger of Hanna, Deanna (Chris) Birky of Kouts, Haylee (Matthew) Smolek of San Pierre, and Kelsey Krueger of San Pierre; grandchildren: Cameron Krueger, Lauryn Krueger, Hannah (Ruben) Barjas, Morgan Shreeves, Jackson Shreeves, Sophia Tikalsky, Isabella Tikalsky, Grant Birky, Marissa (Richie) Foster, Anna Birky, Haydyn Smolek, Rowyn Smolek, Hattly Smolek, Amelia Resendez, and Liam Thomas; greatgrandchildren: Caroline, Reed, and Jack; and siblings: Joy Motter, Jeff (Mary) Krueger, and Joel Krueger. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, John & Jane Krueger; and brother-in-law, Ralph Motter.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 810 W. Talmer Ave., North Judson, with a memorial service beginning at 12:00 p.m., Rev. Daniel Speckhard officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Unity Hospice. Kosanke
