DEBBIE J. RIDDLE
KNOX, IN - Debbie J. Riddle, born June 5, 1954, died Friday, May 29, 2026.
Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved hard, protected fiercely and carried her family in every piece of her heart.
She is survived by her children: Michelle (Scott), ReGenna (Jr.) and Ronnie (Crystal), seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald “Rooster” Riddle, who died April 30, 2026.
A celebration of life will be held for Debbie and Ron on August 15 at 2pm at the American Legion in Monterey.

NEAL ROBERT BROWN
PLYMOUTH, IN - Neal Robert Brown, 71, died Saturday, June 6, 2026 in Plymouth, Indiana. He was born September 2, 1954 in Knox, Indiana to the late Harold Brown Sr. and Bonnie (Turner) Brown. On October 27, 1973 in Toto, Indiana he married Marlene Fletcher.
Neal enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing baseball, spending time with his family and their trips to Florida. He had worked as a foreman for Union Electric Steel in Valparaiso, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Brown, four daughters: Charity (Robert) Ward of Argos, Indiana, Anette (James) Marlow of Winamac, Indiana, Rebecca (James) Koontz of Albany, Indiana and Keri (Brian) Miller of Plymouth, twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two brothers: Pete (Kim) Brown of Knox and Steve Brown of Monticello, Indiana and two sisters: Barbara (Tim) Yeadon of North Judson, Indiana and Vicki (Chris) Dust of Rochester, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Brown Jr.
Services will be held at 11am CST on Wednesday, June 10 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ben Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery in Knox. Memorials may be made to the family.

CHRISTOPHER
JAMES CAUDILL
TOTO, IN - Christopher James Caudill, 34, died Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at his home from complications from Type 1 diabetes. He was born March 22, 1992 in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late James L. and Deborah Ann Trent-Caudill.
Chris loved anything with a motor and tinkering in his garage and wheeling and dealing. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Chris will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bennie Caudill and Myrtle (Manns) Caudill Riedy and Dorise “Beach” Trent and Dorothy Ann (Schadek) Trent.
A memorial service was held Saturday, May 23 at the Trinity Assembly of God in Knox.

JOHN ROBERT GUM
NORTH JUDSON, IN - John Robert Gum, 47, died June 6, 2026. He was born December 27, 1978.
John was a 1998 graduate of North Judson-San Pierre High School, graduating near the top of his class. He was a 2000 graduate of Ancilla Domini College and received an A.S. in Science and a 2002 graduate of Saint Joseph’s College and received a B.S. in Biology. He also pursued a graduate study at Purdue University for an M.S. in Botany. John was a graduate teaching assistant at Purdue University for the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology and for the Department of Biology. He was a world traveler, having visited Sweden, Japan, Malaysia, Borneo, Singapore and the islands of the south China Sea. He also had close friends from Australia. He was active at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for several years and had also served as an adult alter server, choir member and minister of the Eucharist.
He is survived by his parents, Monty and Nancy (Fechner) Gum, both of Winamac, Indiana and one brother, Andrew Gum of Ohio.
A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, with Fr. Terry Bennis officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in North Judson.

BEVERLY DARLENE JONES
SAN PIERRE, IN - Beverly Darlene (Alexander) Jones, 87, died Friday, May 15, 2026. She was born September 24, 1938 in Gary, Indiana to the late James Francis and Mary Elizabeth Alexander. On February 23, 1957 in San Pierre, Indiana, she married Lewis Clifford “Cliff” Jones.
Bev was a lifelong devoted member of St. Luke Community Church and a member of the Vesper Circle. She enjoyed volunteering, cooking, nurturing others, tending her flowers and she was an avid quilter and sewer.
She is survived by her children: Lewis “Jim” Jones and John (Kim) Jones, both of Knox, Sherry (Charlie) Shirley of New Richmond, Indiana and Mary (Dan) Wildman of Veedersburg, Indiana, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one sister, Margaret Block of North Judson, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff, two children: Angela McMeans and William Jones, two grandchildren: Cassandra Wildman and Joshua Jones and siblings: Robert Alexander, Joy Burke and Betty Giertz.
Services were held on Thursday, May 21 at the O’Donnell Funeral Home. Burial was in the San Pierre Cemetery.

ERNEST COMBS
TULSA, OK - FORMERLY OF MEDARYVILLE, IN - Ernest “Chip” Combs, 59, died Friday, May 22, 2026 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born October 30, 1967 in Chesterton, Indiana to Roy and Connie Combs.
Chip is survived by two sons: Cody and Joshua, his mother, Connie Combs and four brothers: Peter, Leonard, Steven and Anthony. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy and two sisters: Angela and Esther.
Chip enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting and was an avid racing enthusiast and enjoyed attending races when he could.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
