





































PETER MAROVICH
KNOX, IN - Peter “Pete” Marovich, 53, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025 in Knox, Indiana. He was born July 27, 1971 in Maywood Park, Illinois, to Joseph and Nancy (Cook) Marovich.
Pete was the former Fire Chief of the Bass Lake Fire Department. He enjoyed camping, shooting guns, riding motorcycles, his animals and spending time with his family and friends. He had worked as a mechanic.
He is survived by one daughter, Britney Marovich of Winamac, Indiana, his mother, Nancy Marovich of Knox, one sister, Christina (Chrissy) Marovich of Bartlett, Illinois and two brothers: Joseph (Debbie) Marovich of Florida and John (Mac) Marovich of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph.
Services were held Sunday, April 13 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Memorials may be made to Braman & Son Memorial Chapel.
Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.
DARLYN COMBS
KNOX, IN - Darlyn Combs, 84, died Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She was born July 6, 1940 in Knox, to the late Orville and Elsie Palm Humes. Darlyn loved looking for good deals at thrift and yard sales and working on home decor.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherry Combs of Knox, one granddaughter, two great granddaughters and one sister, Bonnie Chambers of Knox. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Velvet Combs Howard. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.
VIVIAN ANN CRULL
WINAMAC, IN - FORMERLY OF La PORTE, IN - Vivian Ann (Harness)
Crull, 76, died Monday, April 7, 2025 at Northwest Health Hospital in La Porte, Indiana. She was born May 28, 1948, in Plymouth, Indiana to the late Raymond and rosezella (Vermillion) Harness.
Vivian worked as a Qualified Medical Assistant for many years. She loved her family very much.
She is survived by one daughter, Leisa (Daniel) Wade of Sidney, Ohio, one son, RJ Crull of La Porte, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one sister, Donna Minix of Winamac and one brother, Larry Harness of Bass Lake, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Crull, Sr. and siblings: Raymond Eugene Harness, Sandra Sue Heater and Gladys Mae Hamilton.
Private burial was held in the Patton Cemetery in La Porte. Memorial contributions may be made to the Patton Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

LINDA SUE NICOLAS
WINAMAC, IN - Linda Sue Nicolas, 78, died Monday, April 7, 2025 at her home. She was born August 13, 1946 in Flora, Indiana to the late Marion and Dorothy (Grindle) Freeman. On June 26, 1965, in Winamac, she married Steven Nicolas.
Linda was a 1964 graduate of Star City High School and then from Vogue Beauty School in South Bend, Indiana in 1965. She worked as a beautician for 20 years operating her own shop “Linda’s Cut and Style” from home. She also worked as a floral designer at Camelot Flowers and was a waitress at the Indian Head Restaurant and Bischoff’s Restaurant. She was instrumental in starting the Little Miss pageant. Linda enjoyed crafting and traveling to festivals and craft shows while she operated “Loving Creations by Linda”. She attended the First Christian Church in Winamac. She loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Steven, two daughters: Susan (Tom) Corwin of Lafayette, Indiana and Renda (Lester Coffie) Nicolas of Warsaw, Indiana, one son, Corey (Amanda) Nicolas of Rossville, Indiana, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one sister, Marlene (Jim Fredel) Girton of Winamac. She was preceded in death by two granddaughters: Kelsey Corwin and Kierra Castillejo.
Services were held Friday, April 11, at Frain Mortuary with Pastor Stephen Sundquist officiating. Burial was in the Reed Cemetery in Winamac. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.

HELEN VOLLMER
FISHERS, IN - FORMERLY OF FRANCESVILLE, IN- Helen Vollmer, 99, died Thursday, April 3, 2025. She was born September 25, 1925. On September 1, 1943, she married Robert Vollmer.
Helen cherished her time working at the Francesville-Salem Township Public Library. She enjoyed working outdoors tending her yard and reading. She loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her children: Denise (David) Neff of Montpelier, Indiana, Mark (Bonnie) Vollmer of Westfield, Indiana and Janice (Don) Partlow of Lafayette, Indiana, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three brothers: Bob, Ralph and Art Wendt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and two brothers: Richard and Don Wendt.
Visitation from 10am-12 Noon EDT on Saturday, April 26 at St. James Salem Community Church, with a celebration of life starting at Noon, with Rev. TJ Jenney Ph.D. officiating. Burial was in the Roseland Cemetery in Francesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Salem Community Church.

BIRTIE F. BARCUS NOWAK
CULVER, IN - Birtie F. Barcus Nowak, 86, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at her home. She was born August 2, 1938 in Carter, Kentucky to the late Clifton P. and Nora M. (Blevins) Reeder. In 2011, she married Kenneth J. Nowak. Birtie was a realtor for many years and then worked at Leer Corporation in Bourbon, Indiana until it closed in 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, two sons: George Bogan of Culver and Bill Bogan in Knox, one daughter, Margie Barcus of Wheatfield, Indiana, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, two brothers: Jimmy and John Reeder and four sisters: Yvonne Ranaldi, Wava Reeder, margie Galjan and Loretta Barber. She was preceded in death by siblings: Warren W., Billie E. and Robert M. Reeder and Gleneviere E. Schubert Dubulis.
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
MAURO ZUNIGA REYES
NORTH JUDSON, IN - Mauro Zuniga Reyes, 70, died Friday, April 11, 2025 in North Judson, Indiana. He was born January 15, 1955 in Mexico City, Mexico the late Macario Zuniga and Maria de Jesus (Reyes) Hernandez. Mauro enjoyed playing guitar and being a jokester. His greatest passion was spending time with his family. He had worked as a farm laborer.
He is survived by one son, Mauro (Lina) Zuniga Jr. of North Judson, three daughters: Christina Zuniga and Jessica Zuniga, both of Labelle, Florida and Veronica Cortez, one step daughter, Jess Cruma of North Carolina, twenty grandchildren, six brothers: Martin, Pedro and Miguel Zuniga Reyes, all of Corpus Christi, Texas, Brautio Zuniga Reyes of Missouri and Carlos and ignacio Zuniga Reyes both of Mexico and one sister, Maria Zuniga Reyes of Mexico.
Services were held Monday, April 14 at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in North Judson. Contributions may be made to the family.
