Residents of Railroad Township and all of Starke County: More questions we should all be asking, Where are the contracts with the solar companies that the county signed? Commissioners please upload the documents to the county website.

What is the annual revenue from these projects? Any?

Are our emergency responders trained and equipped to respond to a solar project incident?

If June 1 of 2025 is the target date for our once paved roads to be repaved we only have to wait 638 days, ouch!

Who will pay for the paving at that time?

Maybe residents of Railroad Township should consider a name change for our town of San Pierre to Solar Pierre, what do you think?

Full & part time care available. Please call 574-540-3228 ...........................................34B

Kathy Lynn Wera

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathy Wera, 59, who departed this world on the 12th of August, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones at the Northwest Starke Hospital. She was born on the 25th of December, 1963 in Knox Indiana to Floyd (Carson) Rowe and Ruth (King) Rowe of North Judson, Indiana, who both preceded her in death.

Kathy will be remembered for her strength, courage, and compassion. She had an unwavering love for her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, family road trips, spending time with loved ones, and attending church and praising the Lord to anyone that would listen to her testimony. Throughout her fight with cancer, though her physical strength declined, her faith and love for God only grew stronger. Whenever there was bad news, she only saw the bright side and praised the Lord for everything He’s done for her. For Kathy, every cloud, no matter how dark, had a bright silver lining. Kathy’s faith, willpower, and love is an inspiration and she will be missed deeply. She is survived by her two sons, Kasimir Leon (Destiny) Wera, of North Judson, Indiana and Johnnie Joseph (Vanessa) Moss-Hillers of El Paso, Texas; three brothers, Freddie John (Debbie) Rowe, Kenneth Mack (Mary) Rowe, Floyd Carson (Maryann) Rowe Jr, all of Salyersville, Kentucky, and one sister, Ruby Ann (Rabion) Frasure of Winamac, Indiana; and her one granddaughter, who was the light of her life, Sabriel Grace-Lynn Wera of North Judson, Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services were held Wednesday, August 16, at Denham Freewill Baptist Church, with Mike Noble officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in North Judson.

Kathy’s memory will forever live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew her.

Mathew 10:7 And as you go, preach, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Rest in peace, Kathy.
