COLLEEN F. GOOD

WINAMAC, IN - Colleen F. (Biedron)

Good, 79, died Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born August 4, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Joseph S. and Anna (Stefaniak) Biedron. On February 15, 1969, she married Ralph E. Good. He died June 26, 2007.

Colleen worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. Thomas Kaminski for many years. She was a member of St. Peter ’s Catholic Church in Winamac and she enjoyed NASCAR, raising her plants and caring for her cat.

She is survived by one son, Jeff Good of Winamac and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael D. Good and one sister, Joanne Biedron.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 13 at Frain Mortuary, with Pastor Stephen Sundquist officiating. Burial was in the Pulaski Presbyterian Cemetery in Pulaski, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Mothers of St. Peter’s Church.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

RONNIE DEAN BACK

KNOX, IN - Ronnie Dean Back, 81, died Saturday, July 6, 2024 at his home. He was born November 20, 1942, in Tiptop, Kentucky, to the late Glaster and Lula (Miller) Back. On March 27, 1963, he married Linda Jensen. She died May 10, 2004.

Ronnie worked as a machinist at Modine Manufacturing in La Porte, Indiana. He was a member of the Knox American Legion Post #131 and loved paying honor to the veterans of Starke County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with is family.

He is survived by two sons: Tom (Connie) Back of Mount Juliet, Tennessee and Jeff (Rachelle) Back of North Judson, Indiana, five grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Siddal.

Interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox American Legion Post #131. Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.

LU ELLA BOWMAN

FRANCESVILLE, IN - Lu Ella

Bowman, 85, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville, Indiana. She was born May 13, 1939 in Weaverville, California, to the late Norvin and Janie (McNeal) Hershman.

Lu Ella grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana and spent most of her life in Summit City, California, where she attended Community Baptist Church and had worked as a preschool teacher. She also worked as a CNA at a nursing home. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and VBS, caring for others, traveling, reading and listening to music. She was a very proud of her son and grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Gary (Fiancée Barbie Potter) Bowman of Shasta Lake, California, two grandchildren and one sister, Mary Geisler of Rochester, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Leta Cooper and Clara Cheek.

A memorial service will take place in California at a later date.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac, Indiana.

RODNEY W. BLISS, SR.

KNOX, IN - Rodney W. Bliss, Sr., age 89, of Knox passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in his home.

In Hammond, Indiana, Rodney was born on March 12, 1935, the son of the late Orville and the late Elizabeth (VerBerkmoes) Bliss.

On May 31, 1958, in Hammond, Indiana, Rodney married Charlotte Shaffer.

Rodney worked as a supervisor for NIPSCO. He enjoyed spending time playing cards with his family at casinos. He was also an avid bowler.

Surviving are a son, Rodney (Crystal) Bliss, Jr., of Knox, five daughters, Sherry Pinney, of Winamac, Indiana, Vickie (Michael) Miller, of North Judson, Indiana, Charlotte (Roger) Griffith, of Knox, Sandra (Dave) Lembke, of Beauville, North Carolina, and Margaret (Nathan) Nichols, of Koontz Lake, 24 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, a brother, Darrell Bliss, and two sisters, Sylvia Bliss and Ada Saunders.

A private family service is planned. Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.
