PATRICIA RIDGEWAY

MONTEREY, IN - Patricia Ridgeway, 75, died Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Kokomo, Indiana. She was born May 30, 1948, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Horace and Jeneve (Lampart) Snellgrove. On August 9, 1969, in Glen Park, Indiana, she married Richard Ridgeway.

Patricia enjoyed gardening and arranging flowers and was a member of a garden club in Merrillville, Indiana. She loved spending time with her family. She had worked as a clerk.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, one daughter, Kimberly (Joe) Raymond of Plymouth, Indiana, three grandchildren and siblings: David (Gayla) Snellgrove of Atlanta, Georgia, Cathy (Lewis) Googligmuchi of Tennessee, Jane (Mike) HIllard of Hobart, Indiana and Ruth (John) Goff of Nashville, Tennessee.

Services will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the family.

Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.

ALBERT WAYNE STRAW

WINAMAC, IN - Albert Wayne “Al” Straw, 76, died Friday, March 8, 2024 at his home. He was born June 19, 1947, in Winamac, Indiana to the late Richard Albert “Dick” and Agnes May (Reinholt) Straw. On June 3, 1972, in Kewanna, Indiana, he married Debbie Ginn.

Al was a 1965 graduate of Winamac High School and attended Ball State University. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Vietnam. He retired as a supervisor from Tyson in Logansport, Indiana. He was a former member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was a member of the Heartland Church in Winamac.

For many years, he served as a Little League coach and organized youth summer basketball. Al was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and IU basketball and was also a Boilermaker fan. He loved spending time with his friends and family

He is survived by his wife, Debbie, three daughters: Leslie Coatie of Elkhart, Indiana, Jennifer Straw of Lafayette, Indiana and Angela Straw of Logansport, Indiana, one son, Scott Straw of Winamac and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Alberta Straw.

Services will be held at 11am EDT, Friday, March 15, at the Heartland Church with Rev. Herb Hiatt officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lake Bruce, Indiana.

Visitation from 4-8pm EDT on Thursday, March 14 at Frain Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Honor Flight Lafayette or Heartland Church.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

RALPH E. RISNER

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Ralph E. Risner, 77, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 9, 2024, following a tragic accident. He was born March 14, 1946. On October 31, 1964, he married Martha Sue Howe.

Ralph was a 1964 graduate of Medaryville High School. He owned and operated Risner Motor Sales in Medaryville for 40 years. He was an active member of the Medaryville Christian Church, Medaryville Lions Club and the Medaryville Potato Festival. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, gardening and working with his hunting dogs and tinkering on antique tractors. He cherished time spent with his family

He is survived by his wife, Martha Sue, one son, Michael E. (Cathleen) Risner of Medaryville, two granddaughters, one sister, Norma J. Clark of Culver, Indiana and one brother, Henry J. “Hank” Risner of Monticello, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one infant son, Gregory Scott Risner and one brother, Edward D. Risner.

Visitation from 3-7pm EDT on Wednesday, March 13 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel. Services will be held at 10am EDT, on Thursday, March 14 at the funeral home, with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating. Burial will be in the White Post Cemetery in Medaryville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Medaryville Christian Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville.
