TRACY LYNN

NAPIERKOWSKI

KNOX, IN - Tracy Lynn Napierkowski, 48, died Monday, February 26, 2024. She was born February 2, 1976, to David Jarrett and Florence “Tina” Napierkowski. Shortly after birth, she was adopted by Zigmund Napierkowski.

Tracy enjoyed taking walks, listening to music, dancing like crazy and being the center of attention at family gatherings. She loved her family very much.

She is survived by her children:

Elizabeth Wright, Amber Clary, Dustin Clary and Aiden Clary, two grandchildren, her mother Tina and two siblings: Nicole and Brian Napierkowski. She was preceded in death by her biological father, David Jarrett, her father, Zigmund Napierkowski and one brother, Martin “Bub” Napierkowski.

A memorial service was held Monday, March 4, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

PAMELA TROIKE

RENSSELAER, IN - Pamela Troike, 67, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Rensselaer, Indiana. She was born October 7, 1956, in Winamac, Indiana, to the late Jack and Roberta (Russell) Howard.

Pamela had worked as a teacher aide. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, Jason (Jessica) Troike of North Judson, Indiana, four grandchildren and two sisters: Connie (Mark) Stacy of Winamac and Kathy (Dale) Carter of Rensselaer. She was preceded in death by one son, Jeremy D. Troike and two brothers: Dave and Mark Howard.

Interment will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Arrangements were made by Braman & Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson.

VIRGINIA J. COMBS

KNOX, IN - Virginia J. Combs, 79, died Monday, February 26, 2024 in Knox, Indiana. She was born July 13, 1944, in Seedorf, Germany to the late Michael and Stefaina (Prymack) Hukalo.

Virginia loved crocheting, embroidering, bowling, watching birds, gardening and spending time with her dogs and her family. She had worked for G.L. Perry.

She is survived by one son, Paul (Debbie) Combs of Knox, two daughters: Donna (Todd) Hix of Knox and Melissa Alexander of Leesburg, Florida, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one brother, Michael Hukalo of Knox and two sisters: Julie Hukalo of Knox and Vera (Jeff) Tetzloff of Culver, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Combs.

Services were held Tuesday, March 5, at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc.

Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.

FOGARTY

KNOX, IN - George E. Fogarty, 96, died Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was born October 13, 1927, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Arthur and Mary (Helms) Fogarty.

George loved his grandchildren and cherished the memories.

He is survived by his kids: Ann (Joseph) DeLong, George V. Fogarty, Barbara A. Fogarty and Patricia L. (Daniel) VanVolkenburg, all of Knox and Kathleen Thomas of Wyoming, eight grandchildren and one sister, Mary Alice. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Fogarty and several siblings.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, from 4-8pm CT, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be on Thursday, March 7, at 10am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hamlet, Indiana. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Schererville, Indiana.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

ELIZABETH MARY SICKBERT

PANAMA CITY, FL - FORMERLY OF KNOX, IN - Elizabeth Mary “Betty”

Sickbert, 83, died Sunday, February 11, 2024. She was born October 19, 1940, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Virginia and Joseph Sirovy. In 1965, she married John Dillard Felts. He died in 1988. In 1991, she married Earl Henry Sickbert. He died in 2015.

Betty had worked at Illinois Bell as a telephone operator, which started her 25 year career with Mountain Bell and later AT&T. She had also worked for Walmart and retired from there. She was an avid coffee drinker, collector and traveler and she enjoyed helping people.

She is survived by one son, John A. Felts, one granddaughter, children: Tammy L. Huntsman, Earl H. (Barb) Sickbert Jr. and Penny A. Jacobs, sisters: Virginia Hawkins, Margorie Lockridge, Doris Doyle and Mary Nesbitt and one brother, Jonathan Sirovy.

Services will be held at 2pm, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, March 16.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

MARY COBLE

WINAMAC, IN - Mary “Deb” Coble, 70, died Saturday, March 2, 2024, following a brave battle with cancer. She was born June 20, 1953, in Toronto, Canada, to the late Arthur and Mary (O’Rourke) Chinery.

Deb was a 1971 graduate of Andrean High School in Gary, Indiana. She worked at Miller’s Department Store, ran a daycare out of her home and worked at Eaton until it closed. She then pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. She worked at Pulaski Memorial Hospital until 2020. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, taking walks, traveling to new places, going to movies and live music shows, book club, Christmastime, bird watching, gardening and good food. She was a long time member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac and had served as a liturgical minister and was active in the Christian Mothers. She was a former Girl Scout Leader.

She is survived by two daughters: Kellie (Brian) Ritchie of Anderson, Indiana and Elaine (Josh Huelat) Bacewic of Knox, Indiana, three sons: Michael (Dee) Coble and Robert (Brenda) McIntosh) Coble, both of Winamac and Richard (Stephanie) Coble of Knox, eight grandchildren and her ex husband, Noel Coble. She was preceded in death by one sister, Anne Marie Chinery.

Visitation from 3-8pm EST on Friday, March 8, at Frain Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held at 11am EST on Saturday, March 9, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Dennis Faker officiating. Private burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery in Portage, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

S. PAUL MEYER

WINAMAC, IN - S. Paul Meyer, 84, died Friday, March 1, 2024, at Hickory Creek @ Winamac in Winamac, Indiana. He was born August 30, 1939 in rural Pulaski County to the lat Sylvester William and Margaret Ilene (Kline) Meyer. On May 7, 1960, in Winamac, he married Janice C. Braun.

Paul was fondly known as “the Gas Man” for delivering fuel to local farmers for over 30 years. He was a woodworker and made many birdhouses over the years. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren on vacations and telling stories. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski and had served on the Parish Council. He was a charter member and past treasurer of the Star City Lions Club and had previously served on the Pulaski White Rural Telephone Cooperative Board and the Pulaski County Council.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, one daughter, Kimberly A. (Robert

“Bob”) Daily of Kewanna, Indiana, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and one sister, Linda (Rick) Rausch of Anderson, Indiana. She was preceded in death by one son, Randy J. Meyer, one daughter, Katherine J. Meyer, one sister, Dora Fisher and one brother, Tony Meyer.

Services were held Tuesday, March

5, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Dennis Faker officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery West in Pulaski. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Pulaski Animal Center or the Star City Lions Club. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

MARK E. STOUT

STAR CITY, IN - Mark E. Stout, 72, died at 4:38pm, Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born February 13, 1952, in rural Winamac, Indiana, to the late Burl and Fern (Roberts) Stout. On November 17, 1973, he married Sharron L. “Sherry” Korner.

Mark was a 1970 graduate of West Central High School and was a loving husband and devoted dad. He enjoyed family reunions, being outdoors mowing grass and fishing, working on his old Buick and woodworking. He had worked 49 years for Galbreath and was a talented welder. He had also worked for US Steel, A&A Sheet Metal and FRATCO.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry, two sons: Ryan (fiancée, Ana Barraza) Stout of Rancho, California and Sean (fiancée, Melissa Humphrey) Stout of Star City, four grandchildren, two sisters: Lovilla Tetzloff of Howe, Indiana and Carol Pinks of Winamac and two brothers: Leroy (Maggie) Stout and Devon Stout, both of Star City. He was preceded in death by siblings: Arnold Lavon Stout, Darlene Kay Stout, Ruth Elaine Oliver, Lowell Thomas Stout, Roberta Jo Johns, Shirley Fay Dunkel and George Burley Stout.

Visitation from 4-8pm EST on Thursday, March 7, at Frain Mortuary. Services will be held at 10am EST, Friday, March 8, at Heartland Church in Winamac, with Pastor Heath Hiatt officiating. Burial was in the Koster Cemetery in Francesville, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulaski Animal Center or the Warrior Youth Baseball or Star City Lions Club. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
