MEDARYVILLE, IN - Sherrie L. (Nightingale) Hauptli, 58, died Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born February 10, 1965, in East Chicago, Indiana. Sherrie was a 1983 graduate of West Central High School in Francesville, Indiana and attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. She had worked most of her life in the medical field. She was a gifted musician, playing the organ and piano at church and was a member of the Melodyairs, which began her singing career which spanned over 25 years. She taught piano for many years. Sherrie was a certified storm chaser. She was also fluent in American Sign Language and was a talented cook and baker. She enjoyed bowling, spending time outdoors and working summers at Indiana Beach. She loved her Medaryville Assembly of God Church family and her family very much. She is survived by one son, Coltin D. Lynch of Hamlet, Indiana, one daughter, Cheyenne R. (fiancé Seth Dunfee) Lynch of Knox, Indiana, three grandchildren, three sisters: Donna R. Hendershot and Sandra K. Baker, both of Billings, Missouri and Rosetta L. Nightingale of Indianapolis and one brother, Isaac E. (Mona) Nightingale of Monon, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas E. Hauptli, one daughter, Chastity N. “Chas” Bennett, her parents, John W. and Betty L. (Banes) Nightingale, Sr. and one brother, John W. “Sonny” Nightingale, Jr. Services were held Friday, January 26, at the Medaryville Assembly of God Church with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating. Burial was in the White Post Cemetery in Medaryville. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Medaryville.

WINAMAC, IN - FORMERLY OF NORTH JUDSON, IN - Timothy P. Hammond, 62, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was born June 25, 1961, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to the late Elmer D. and Catherine W. (Hohner) Hammond. Tim graduated from Wheeler High School and Valparaiso Tech. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and had worked most of his life as an electrical engineer at Bethlehem Steel. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

STAR CITY, IN - JD Danford, 87, died Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Evansville, Indiana. He was born August 31, 1936, in Monon, Indiana, to the late John and Daisy (Watson) Danford. JD drove a truck all his life and had previously worked at Moyer Grain and the Pulaski County Highway Department as well as for Tony Kasten and Mike McClure. He was a long time member of the Star City Fire Department. He loved spending time at his shop and listening to Bluegrass music. He is survived by three daughters: Ronda Denney of Winamac, Cindy Rife of Cherokee, Iowa and Diana (Danny) Farris of Logansport, Indiana, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one brother, Norman Danford of Washington, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, five sisters: Evelyn Clemons, Angie Day, Barbara Keiser, Gwen Bennett and infant Cleta Jo Danford and three brothers: Larry, Bob and infant Charles Danford. Private graveside services will be held at Star City West Cemetery in Star City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Star City Fire Department. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
CHESTERTON, IN - FORMERLY OF KNOX, IN AND NORTH CAROLINADorothy R. Bradley, 80, died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at The Residences of Coffee Creek in Chesterton, Indiana. She was born August 8, 1943, in Toto, Indiana, to the late Raymond and Lola (Coldiron) Fletcher. In March of 1962, she married Thurman Bradley. He died in 2023. Dorothy had been a beautician and operated the Toto Beauty Salon, she then worked for McColly Realtors in Valparaiso, Indiana and then Howard Realty in Knox. In 1989 she went to nursing school and graduate from Purdue University School of Nursing with an Associates of Science degree and worked as an RN in a pediatric clinic and then a local hospital. Dorothy and her husband moved to North Carolina and she was an RN in orthopedics at Pardee Hospital and well as at a local assisted living facility. She loved her family very much. She is survived by two daughters: Chandra (Albert) Royce of Chesterton and Corinne (Rod) Ingle of Beaufort, South Carolina, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two “bonus” grandchildren: Benjamin and Taylor Faford. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Wynona Lovins, Helen Miller and Cleo Webb and one half brother, Joseph. Services were held Monday, January 8 at the O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. Burial was in the Round Lake Cemetery in Knox. Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Christy L. Hutton, 70, died Monday, January 8, 2024. Christy enjoyed attending her grandkids games/events and traveling to Alaska. Upon graduation in 1971 from Pueblo County High School, she earned her degree from Colorado State University. She grew up participating in 4H, was a champion square dancer, was a volleyball player, and enjoyed spending time loving her family, friends and animals. Christy loved spending time on the farm and taking trail rides with family and friends at state parks. She also enjoyed going to tack auctions. Most of her hard working career was with NIPSCO as a meter reader and Heavy Equipment Operator. She retired after twenty-eight years of service. She loved spending time with her family, friends and animals. She is survived by three children: Dr. Jennifer (Dr. Steven) Jozwiak of Alaska, Brett (Beth) Dolezal of North Judson, Indiana and Kara (Jon) Rhoda of LaCrosse, Indiana, seven grandchildren: She is also survived by brothers Rand, Ryan, and sister Cindy of Colorado. Christy was preceded in death by her loving parents Virginia and Robert Morris. Christy’s celebration of life will be at a later date. Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson.

NORTH JUDSON, IN - John William Klacza, 47, died Thursday, January 18, 2024, at his home from a heart attack. He was born June 25, 1976. John was a friend to everyone and he loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife, Kristine Klacza, one daughter, Tyler Weller, his mother, Barbara Klacza and step father, Guy Tardi and siblings: Wayne, Melissa, Greg and MaryAnn. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Klacza. Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson.

ENGLISH LAKE, IN - Sharen Lois “Bebe” Chesak Barnett, 77, died Sunday, January 14, 2024. She was born March 18, 1946, in LaPorte, Indiana, to the late Charles and Clara (Keehn) Chesak. On May 17, 1969, she married Robert Lee “Bob” Barnett. Sharen was a lifetime resident of English Lake, Indiana and she loved the country life. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in North Judson. She was a 1964 graduate of North JudsonSan Pierre High School. She enjoyed spending time in Michigan and Florida at the Chesak family cabins, shooting and target practice, fishing, nature and animals, reading, learning new things, motorcycles, cars, racing, sci-fi, especially Star Trek and collecting memorabilia. She loved her community and was a member of the North Judson Mint Festival Committee for over 15 years and held the role of treasurer before retiring from the committee. Sharen loved the holidays, photography and videography. Most of all she loved her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Robert, one son, Robert C. (Leslie Hinman) of North Judson, one daughter, Cara Paige (Matthew Hamilton) of English Laike, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was precerded in death by one granddaughter, one brother, Allen Chesak and one foster brother, Jerry Buckley. Services were held Saturday, January 20, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Tabitha Olive Thomas, 57, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at IU Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, Indiana. She was born May 18, 1966, in Knox, Indiana, to Kathryn Butler and Claude (Pat) Tunis. Tabitha wore many hats in her working career, but her favorite positions were waitressing and parts manager for Skip’s Repair. She loved baking, crafting and playing with her grandkids. She is survived by her husband, James, two daughters: Amanda (Jonathan) Brewer and Candice Thomas and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Olive (Woods) Tunis. Services were held Saturday, January 27, at the O’Donnell Funeral Home. Burial was in the San Pierre Cemetery in San Pierre, Indiana. Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.

WINAMAC, IN - Carolyn Sue Redlin, 70, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born August 25, 1953, to the late William and Delores Fites. On March 22, 1975, in Denham, Indiana, she married Charles “Chuck” Redlin. Carolyn was a 1971 graduate of Winamac Community High School. She was a tireless worker and had worked many different jobs around town. She loved Bingo and all games of chance, going on girl’s trips with Chrissy and attending all of Craig’s band functions, traveling with her family and being a grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Chuck, two children: Christine (Michael) Lawbaugh of Highland, Indiana and Craig (Mallory) Redlin of Rensselaer, Indiana, three grandchildren, one brother, Steve (Minner) Fites of Winamac and three sisters: Lois Reynolds of Winamac, Marilyn Krieg of Indianapolis, Indiana and Nancy Abraham of Valparaiso, Indiana. Services were held Monday, January 29, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Rev. Mark Fakih officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson, Indiana.

LAFAYETTE, IN - FORMERLY OF BUFFALO, IN - Jeffery B. “Jeff” Jordan, 60, died Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born April 3, 1963, in Winamac, Indiana, to the late Stanley R. and Myra Mae (Galbreath) Jordan. On March 9, 1985, in Wanatah, Indiana, he married Donna F. Goetz. She died February 8, 2016. Jeff was a 1981 graduate of Winamac High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University. He was an alumni member of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity and was an avid Purdue University basketball and football fan. He had worked most of his life in the auction business. Jeff was an active member in two LARP (Live Action Role Playing) groups and he enjoyed LARPing with his son and grandsons. He also enjoyed attending his grandsons sporting and school events. 4H was a big part of his life and he had been the Pulaski County 4H King, served one term as President of the Porter County 4H Council and served as club leader for the Washington Wiz Kids for several years. He is survived by one son, Justin G. (Christa) Jordan of Winamac, one daughter, Kelsey N. Jordan of Lafayette, Indiana, two grandsons, one sister, Jody M. VanMeter of Royal Center, Indiana and one brother, Jason R. Jordan of Star City, Indiana. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Pulaski County 4H Council. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
