Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation (WACF) – wacf.com

The Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation (WACF) was formed in 1991 to anticipate, seek out, and resolve threats to the water quality in the Wawasee area watershed� The Foundation is dedicated to promoting education, encouraging best management practices to reduce erosion, and acquiring wetlands and endangered shoreline areas� Their efforts have resulted in the acquisition and protection of over 10 miles of shoreline and 48 wetland areas totaling over 863 acres�

The Wawasee Community School Corporation is comprised of five schools located in the northern part of Kosciusko County in the communities of Syracuse, Milford, North Webster, and Milford� The citizens live, work, and play around five large lakes: Dewart, Webster, Tippecanoe, Syracuse, and Wawasee�

Three thousand five hundred students find their way to school each day by bus or private vehicle to take advantage of the many excellent educational programs offered by dedicated school personnel� Core subjects, high ability, home study, summer school, vocational, special needs instruction, etc� meet the needs of the students in the corporation� Afterschool activities which include clubs, organizations, and athletics help keep students very busy and productive�

The three communities of Milford, North Webster, and Syracuse each have an elementary school that provides a solid educational beginning for students� The middle schools, containing grades 6-8, continue student progress before the final four years at Wawasee High School� All three distinctly different levels of educational opportunities, elementary, middle school, and high school, provide each student a strong foundation for adulthood�
