The SWCC Foundation, Inc� is a separate 501c3 entity within the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber which provides special options for community donations and grant funding to support the Syracuse-Wawasee businesses and community in the areas of arts, education, economic development, and community development�

THE CANOE PROJECT
Community pride continues to paddle forward with the Syracuse Wawasee Chamber of Commerce (known as SWCC) non-profit arm, the SWCC Foundation. Dedicated to community connection, arts, and beautification, the Foundation proudly presents one of its most recognizable initiatives: The Canoe Project.
The Canoe Project features fifteen bright red canoes sprinkled throughout our community to beautify our town and spark curiosity, conversation, and smiles. Each canoe is uniquely decorated by community volunteers, showcasing local creativity while transforming everyday spaces into colorful points of interest. Over the years, these canoes have become a beloved symbol of Syracuse’s welcoming spirit.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to tour the canoes and enjoy this well-loved addition to the community. A map inside this directory highlights all fifteen red canoes, making it easy to explore them at your own pace and discover new corners of town along the way.
The future of The Canoe Project is secure thanks to the generous support of the Harkless Family Foundation through the Kosciusko County Foundation, which has permanently endowed the Red Canoe Project to ensure it remains part of our community for decades to come.
