What’s happening with the Times Theater?

A big question on the mind of anyone interested in the development of downtown Rochester is, “What’s going on with the Times Theater?”

The short answer, according to the Times Theater Board Chairman Julia Shambarger, is the theater will be open to the public sometime this year, with a focus on live music, movies and community events.

A crucial moment came in late January, with the announcement of the formation of the Round Barn Opry at the Times house band, a five-piece classic country ensemble led by producer Thad Stewart.

The band is currently rehearsing roughly 25 songs focused on country, with some classic rock and blues thrown in as well, according to Stewart. As is the tradition in Nashville, the song is king with the Round Barn Opry Band.

To prove that point, Stewart handpicked musicians who can not only play but can sing as well.

“Everybody here is very experienced,” he said, including his daughter Kate Karter, who has been making a name for herself with the Orange Blossom Opry in Florida, led by Bobby Randall of Sawyer Brown. She was recently one of 20 musicians invited to audition for Toby Keith.

“I’m excited to be playing on a big stage right here in Rochester,” said Karter.

The Round Barn Opry at the Times will perform every other week on Thursdays and Fridays.

The Thursday show will be a competition between two performers, known as “showcasers,” who will submit audition tapes beforehand. The audience will then vote for their favorite performer who will be featured Friday night.

merce Gala, April 30, when the band makes its debut.

According to Devon Gibbons, Times Theater project manager, major headway has also been made on renovations, which will bring the theater up to modern standards while at the same time restoring the art deco ambience of this historic structure.

When completed, Gibbons expects theater occupancy to be roughly 470 patrons, “with plenty of leg room in the rows,” he noted.

Included will be an ADA platform — with railing to match the orchestra pit — accessible through an original egress from the lobby discovered during renovation.

Not only is it “up to code,” said Gibbons, but “it’s just the right thing to do to give those folks access.”

This notion informs every aspect of the Times Theater concept, which is to “appeal to a broad range of people. Everybody’s welcome here,” said Shambarger.

The Times has all new water pipes and HVAC system as well as a new furnace. Footlights will all be replaced in the original locations with new fixtures and wiring, and curtains have been repurposed from Rochester High School, serving both an acoustic and aesthetic function. The roof now has a membrane covering and 3 inches of insulation. Bathrooms have also been brought up to code.

Another crucial puzzle piece will be the restoration of the marquee, complete with original neon colors and chasing lights.

The Times board hopes to receive funding for this very soon.

Many would know Rebekah Parker for her playing career with Tippecanoe Valley High School.

One in a line of dozens of outstanding players to shape the Lady Viking program, Parker played her way to Indiana All-Star status as a senior.

Before that, she helped Valley to its first-ever sectional title in 2002 as a sophomore of a program that would eventually pile up 73 wins in her four years and a trio of sectional titles.

Valley, however, couldn’t get

out of the regional round, but it wouldn’t hinder what Parker had developed as a player, being the second-leading scorer in the state as a senior, averaging 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists en route to the Indiana All-Star nod.

“Being a part of the Indiana All-Stars was an experience I absolutely loved,” offered Parker.

“Having the opportunity to play with the best in the state was an honor. So when I see my jersey there it brings back great memories and I was proud to represent our state and our community. Plus my kids think it’s fun to find mom’s picture on the wall.”

Parker graduated as the all-time leading scorer in program history with 1,420 points, and has since only been passed by Anne Secrest.

“I’ve never been one to think about the impact made, I truly loved playing the game and being competitive,” said Parker, who is one of nine siblings in a gigantic Parker family tree. “But thinking about being a part of the first sectional championship is something I feel like helped build a foundation of a successful program. Those memories of riding the bus back home with a parade of cars and sirens from the local fire trucks and police cars are moments I will never forget. Being able to share those times with younger players hopefully gave them motivation to want to work hard to achieve further success.”

The Division I recruit settled on the University of Evansville and immediately made an impact by being chosen to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team. She elevated to All-MVC status and finish her four years among the top-10 all-time in steals and rebounds and is still fourth

upon graduation, Parker moved to the sidelines and began coaching, serving as an assistant coach at her alma mater Evansville, as well as the University of Toledo. She shifted back to the area and the high school level, catching on with Plymouth as a varsity assistant and then home to Tippecanoe Valley, where she led the JV program for two seasons.

Starting her family, Parker walked away from coaching, but the game never left her.

“I really enjoy coaching details and figuring out what makes players ‘go,’” Parker said. “It’s very rewarding to see the light bulb turn on for kids who are struggling with certain aspects of the game.

Being able to work individually with players helps to break down parts of their game that need more attention and I found that to be equally as rewarding as coaching on the sideline.”

Still with the itch to stay connected to the game, Parker jumped into officiating where she could have more of a fluid availability as she started her family. It was a different approach and viewpoint, but the switch made the game more interesting to her. She’s been at it now for six years, a new way to stay on top of the game she loves.

“I think being an official has helped me learn the game even more than as a player or coach,” Parker noted. “Having the understanding of what officials responsibilities are has definitely helped my viewpoint of the game.”

FCCC announces annual Gala and Awards Ceremony details Fulton County Chamber of Commerce announced the details for the 2022 Fulton County annual Gala and Community Awards Ceremony.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Rochester High School. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner beginning by 7 p.m. Community awards and the Community Service Award winner for 2021 will be announced during the

awards ceremony at 8:30 p.m.

COUNTY REPORT

Eugene Workman U.S. Army Veteran Eugene “Gene” Workman, 91, Rochester, passed away at 9:06 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Howard Community Hospital, Kokomo.

He was born July 3, 1930, in Augusta, Ky., the son of Thomas Albert and Alberta (Crawford) Workman. Gene married Diane Ruley and she preceded him in death in 1982. He then married (8*(1( Minnie (Rutherford) Colangelo and she preceded :25.0$1 him in death March 8, 2008.

After graduating from high school, Gene enlisted in the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Gene was stationed at various bases across the country as well as in Germany. He retired from the Army in 1968. After retiring from the military, he worked in the state of Washington in the lumber industry. He eventually returned to the Midwest, settling in Cincinnati, Ohio, for many years before moving to Rochester to be closer to family. In his spare time, he enjoyed making model airplanes.

Survivors include his daughter, Kitten (Richard) Grimm, Rochester; stepchildren, Tammy (Brian) Milne, Ashland, Ohio, and Teresa Colangelo, Jennifer Colangelo, Nita Colangelo and Cindi Colangelo, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Joseph (Mistie) Roberts, Charlestown, and Shawna (Michael) Canham, Daphne, Ala.; greatgrandchildren, Emily and Madilyn Canham, both of Daphne, Ala., and Madisyn and Alisyn Roberts, both of Charlestown; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends visited from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, where military graveside services were conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.

She married Robert D. Overmyer Sept. 16, 1950, he survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leroy.

Sadly, Mr. Heishman left us because he felt he could better serve the citizens of our state and (specifically) Fulton County by engaging in law enforcement in the community where he lives, and his family is being raised. Busy Bells’ garage sale kicks off at fairgrounds March 19 %\ '$9,' +$=/(',1( 6WDII :ULWHU The Busy Bells Extension Homemaker Club is holding its 10th annual garage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Fulton County Fairgrounds’ Everett Smith and Community Buildings. The event is a fundraiser to assist the club’s many volunteer activities benefiting the community, particularly around the holidays, which include United Ministries, Shop with a Cop, Secret Elf program and more.

Since the first garage sale in 2012, the event has been “very popular,” said Busy Bells Treasurer Karin Fowler. “We often fill both buildings and sell out all of our tables and spaces.”

Let’s study the Bible The Comforter (Read John 14:1-31) “I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.” (John 14:16) %\ 5(9 521 While he 385.(< was with the disciples, Jesus Christ supplied their needs (see John 16:22-24); now that he was returning to heaven, he gives them the privi-

lege of prayer. He promises to answer prayer the Father might be glorified. To pray in “his name” means to pray for his glory, asking for whatever he himself would desire. The “greater works” spoken of in John 14:12 refer to the wonderful miracles and blessings the disciples experienced as recorded in the Book of Acts (see Mark 16:20; Hebrews 2:4). The works he does through us today are “greater” in the sense we are mere human vessels, while he was God incarnate ministering on earth.

Christ had much to say about the Holy Spirit in the next chapters in John’s Gospel. Here he calls him “the Comforter,” liter-

ally, “The one standing alongside to help you.” The word “another” means “another of the same kind,” for the Holy Spirit is God just as Jesus Christ is God. The Holy Spirit living within the disciples would take the place of the Savior living beside the disciples.

He is also called “the Spirit of Truth.” The Holy Spirit uses the word of God (the Bible) to convict sinners and to direct saints, and God’s word is truth (John 17:17).

The world cannot receive the Holy Spirit because he comes in response to faith.

There is considerable discussion over what Christ means when he says, “I will come to you” (John 14:18). Literally it reads, “I

This statement probably includes several things: Christ’s coming to the apostles after his resurrection; his coming to them in the person of the Holy Spirit; and his future coming to take them to heaven.

In John 14:21-26, Jesus Christ speaks of a deeper relationship the disciples will have with God the Father and God the Son through the Holy Spirit. They thought they would be “orphans” (literal meaning of “comfortless” in John 14:18), when actually Jesus’ going to the Father made possible a deeper relationship between the saint (the redeemed person) and his Savior. This relationship involves obedience to the word (John 14:21) and a love for the word (John 14:24). It involves too the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26).

The Christian who spends time learning the Bible, then goes out to live the word of God, will enjoy a close, satisfying communion with the Father and the Son. Love for Jesus Christ is not a shallow emotion to be talked about; it means loving and obeying God’s word by the power of the Holy Spirit. In John 14:1-3, Jesus talked about the redeemed person going to heaven to abide with the Father and the Son; but here he talks about the Father and Son coming to abide with the redeemed person.

Along with the aforementioned activities, the Busy Bells are known for organizing the open class section of the annual Fulton County 4-H Fair. “We welcome all Fulton County residents to submit projects,” said Fowler.

The Busy Bells also hold a craft show at the fairgrounds every fall and sell pies at the Fulton County Chili Cook-off and Car Show.

Rochester DQ to sponsor Choral Club Fulton County Choral Club will participate in the Rochester Dairy Queen’s sponsor night from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 22.

Club members are working to maintain funds for their music and programming costs. Dairy Queen will be donating 10% of profits during that time period for all sales in their store, including drive-through.

P litics Three candidates running unopposed for Senate nominations %\ .(,7+ .1(33 6WDII :ULWHU This November marks the official mid-term elections for federal offices. Nationwide, 34 seats in the United States Senate are up for grabs, including 20 currently held by Republicans and 14 by Democrats.

Included in that Republican number is the Indiana seat currently held by Sen. Todd Young, who will run unopposed in the GOP’s May primary election. The Democratic party also will have only one candidate on its primary ballot, Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. Additionally, James Sceniak was chosen by the Libertarian Party of Indiana during their state convention held last week to be placed on the November general election ballot for the right to represent Indiana in the Senate for the next six years.

Sen. Todd Young — Republican Young is seeking re-election to the Senate for a second term.

Young was first elected to the upper chamber in November 2016, defeating former Indiana Senator and Governor Evan Bayh in an election to replace retiring Senator Dan Coats. Young handily defeated Bayh 52.11%-42.41% in a general election that also included Libertarian candidate Lucy Brenton.

Prior to his election to the Senate, Young served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Indiana’s Ninth District, which encompasses south central Indiana. His current Senate committee assignments include the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Committee on Foreign Relations, Committee on Finance and the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

A former U.S. Marine, Young and his wife, Jennifer, have four children.

Thomas McDermott Jr. — Democrat McDermott was first elected mayor of Hammond, a city in northwest Indiana of approximately 78,000 people, in 2003.

He is the son of Thomas McDermott Sr., who served as the Republican mayor of the same city from 1984-92. The younger McDermott was elected to his fifth term as mayor in 2019.

In 2020, McDermott sought the Democratic nomination for the First Congressional District of Indiana. He was defeated in the primary by now-Rep. Frank Mrvan, who won the November general election to replace former Rep. Pete Visclosky.

Raised by his mother in Napa, Calif., McDermott joined the U.S. Navy following his high school graduation. After six years of military service, he moved to northwest Indiana where he earned a bachelor of science degree in finance from Purdue University Northwest and a juris doctor from the Notre Dame Law School.

McDermott is married to Lake County Judge Marissa McDermott, with whom he shares four children.

James Sceniak — Libertarian During their state convention

held Tuesday, March 8, the Libertarian Party of Indiana selected James Sceniak as its nominee in the November general election.

According to his campaign website, Sceniak “is passionate about bringing a fresh modern Hoosier approach to Washington DC. As a lifetime Hoosier, James knows the concerns that are present in the state: medical freedom, veterans’ care, fiscal responsibility, and more.

Sceniak is a trained behavior therapist that works primarily with children on the autism spectrum. He works with kids to improve their social, academic, behavioral and gross and fine motor skills. “James is already a public servant and wants to use those same skills and attitude of service to represent all of Indiana in the Senate.”

Candidates for second district unchallenged in primary %\ .(,7+ .1(33 6WDII :ULWHU With only a few exceptions, most people who live in the Shopping Guide News coverage area are part of the Second Congressional District of Indiana. Since the general election of 2012, the district has been represented by Jackie Walorski.

For the first time since 2014, Walorski will run unopposed on the Republican primary ballot.

In 2018, Walorski defeated Democrat Pat Hackett in the November general election, collecting 61.5% of the vote.

On the Democratic side, Goshen resident Paul Steury is the lone candidate to file for the party’s nomination.

The second district includes all or part of 10 northern Indiana counties, including Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Miami, Pulaski, Starke, St. Joseph and Wabash.

Jackie Walorski — Republican Prior to winning election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012, Walorski served as a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2004-2010.

Currently, Walorski is the ranking member on the House Committee on Ethics and is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Prior to her public service, Walorski and her husband, Dean, spent four years as missionaries in Romania, where they started and ran a foundation to provide food and medical supplies to impoverished children. She also worked as a television news reporter in South Bend and as a development director for colleges and universities in Indiana.

Paul Steury — Democrat Steury is a two-time candidate for Elkhart County Council, having run unsuccessfully in 2018 and 2020. In his first attempt, Steury challenged Republican Darryl Riegsecker in the third

county council district. The following election, he was on the ballot for one of three at-large seats on the council.

Steury is married to Michele Fanfair Steury. They are parents of two children. He is a graduate of Bethany High School and Gos-

Akron Public Library has some new reads for March. You can check these and others out at the library located at 205 E. Rochester St. “Reckless Girls” by Rachel Hawkins. 6WDII :ULWHU Even if you don’t know Jimmy Arnett, you can’t help but notice him at basketball games. In a profession where most officials don’t want to be noticed, Arnett is OK with people knowing he’s around.

Rather than be the star of basketball games in the wrong way, Arnett has made an officiating career specializing in being a people person. Taking time in tense game situations to make a joke on an inbounds play to lighten the mood, perfecting the art of “diffusing the situation,” or just helping fans feel enlightened in the moment, Arnett has been a real one in the stripes.

For his efforts, his peers have voted him with the 2021-22 Interscholastic Athletic Officials Association Award of Excellence in the sport of girls basketball. Indiana recognizes 24 different officials’ associations and Arnett, who is the president of the St. Joe Valley Officials Association, was chosen as the top official this year. St. Joe Valley assigns officials across northern Indiana which Arnett himself has worked several games this winter. He has called numerous games involving Fulton and Kosciusko county schools.

Arnett was honored at this past weekend’s IHSAA Girls Basketball State Finals, where he was presented the award at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis during the day’s championship games.

“I guess the right word was ‘humbled’ at first,” began Arnett, who spoke shortly after working

a Wawasee-Elkhart Christian boys basketball game in late February, the same day his award was announced by the IHSAA. “It’s gratifying to be recognized as the girls basketball official of the year. Kind of cements the hard work and the time you put into the advocation of officiating.”

Arnett, who works both girls and boys basketball in the winter as well as volleyball in the fall and softball in the spring, has been officiating for 30 years and has quite a tournament résumé to his credit, working 23 basketball sectionals, 17 regionals, six semi-states and three IHSAA State Finals.

Arnett pointed to several who have helped pave his way, including longtime official Ron Gradeless as well as dozens of crew members, athletic directors and coaches he has served for and with, along with the support of his wife, Merie, and his two daughters, Sara and Janelle.

His charm on the court is just as impressive, one minute a stoic and imposing figure who easily could pass as a boxer or bouncer.

The next minute, as lovable as a familiar comedian, joking with players and fans with a smile and heart of gold.

His work off the court is equally notable, involved with the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, Toys For Tots and Special Olympics to name a few.

“There are dozens of other officials across the state who deserve this as much or more than I do,” Arnett said. “I’m just really appreciative to be given the opportunity to be recognized for the work that I do night in and out.”

BTOXFI, MilaniCarter and KBKSRE have all been investigated by the BBB after multiple reports from consumers of unfulfilled orders. Consumers also have reported being unable to reach customer service for these websites.

Do a search for reviews and potential scams. If you still can’t tell if a website is real or fake, try typing the website name along with the word “scam” or “reviews” into your web browser. If other people have been victims of a fake site, you’re likely to find reports when you search for scams.

Look closely at the domain name. One way fake websites trick people is by using a domain name that is extremely close to a real business’s or organization’s domain name. Upon closer examination, you might notice two letters are swapped or it’s just slightly misspelled.

Watch out for tricky subdomains. Sometimes attackers hope you will confuse a subdomain with the real domain name of their website. For example, a scammer might use the domain name netflix.com.movies.com hoping you won’t notice the real domain name is actually movies. com.

Be careful with links in emails.

Phishing scams are extremely common. A scammer might send you an email that looks like it comes from a reputable business in hopes you’ll click on the links without a second thought. Always hover over links in unsolicited emails and even in emails that come from a brand, business, or person you think you know.

The Tippecanoe Valley School Board heard that news from TVSC Superintendent Blaine Conley during a recent public work session.

Valley alumna Valeria Jimenez, now a Manchester University sophomore, recently received a Lilly Endowment Inc. Realizing the Dream scholarship for her academic efforts and being a first-generation college student. As part of that scholarship, she honored a former educator of hers who inspired her.

She opted to pick Walker, who gets a $1,000 professional development grant as part of the recognition. Conley also played a video for the board in which Jimenez explained why she choose Walker as her honored teacher.

“He taught a class called PEERS at my high school,” she said in it. “In that class, we would go to the middle school and the elementary schools in our school corporation and we would mentor kids there and when we weren’t doing that we would have discussions in class essentially on how to be better people.”

“His encouragement really helped me pursue my college goals,” she continued in it. “My senior year, I was really debating going into child psychology and when we would have discussions in class, he would tell me time and time again: ‘You’re going to be an awesome psychologist.’ And hearing that from somebody that I looked

up to so much really gave me the green light that yes, this is what I am supposed to do with my life.”

TVSC Board President Tom Bauters mentioned Walker was previously a Teacher of the Year for the corporation and one of the top finalists for the Indiana Teacher of the Year award.

KREMC Operation Round Up awards $2,500 to TVMS Tippecanoe Valley Middle School is among five Kosciusko County nonprofit groups to receive funding from the Kosciusko REMC Operation Round Up fund this month. Since its inception in 2003, the fund has awarded 548 grants totaling more than $1.4 million.

KREMC Operation Round Up is a voluntary program through which KREMC members pool their resources together to help those in need by choosing to round up their monthly electricity bill to the nearest dollar.

According to KREMC, each participating member contributes $6 a year on average.

This month, grants were awarded to the American Red

Cross of Northeast Indiana, Presby Preschool, Tippecanoe Valley Middle School, Winona Lake Limitless Park, and Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts. $2,500 was awarded to Red Cross to aid in the recovery process for Kosciusko County Families displaced by house fires. Presby Preschool also received $2,500 to help fund new nature camps for 4-6 year olds which allow them to explore the outdoors and have new, creative experiences. Tippecanoe Valley Middle Schools received $2,500 to help supply students living in food-insecure homes with food for the weekend and school breaks.

KREMC Operation Round Up is managed by Kosciusko County Community Foundation. The Community Foundation is a public charity that granted more than $6 million last year in the areas of education, health, arts and culture, recreation, civic projects, environment and human services.

Sutton recognized in 2022 Hoosier Women Artists’ exhibition Last Thursday, Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, Treasurer Kelly Mitchell and the Indiana Arts Commission hosted a reception to celebrate the 2022 Hoosier Women Artists exhibition at the Indiana Statehouse.

Included in the exhibition is Rochester artist Julia Sutton for her work titled “Out of Time.” It will be displayed inside Mitchell’s office.

“It brings me joy to see the return of the Hoosier Women Artist exhibition,” Crouch said. “We received so many great submissions this year and numerous pieces are beyond incredible. I look forward to displaying these in my office throughout the next year. Our state is blessed with talented Hoosier women and I want them all to continue to share their artistic talents with others.”

The Hoosier Women Artists program was established in 2008 to celebrate the importance of the arts in Indiana’s communities and showcase the work of talented female artists throughout the state. The annual exhibition was announced in January, and today’s 44 honorees were selected out of more than 200 entries. The entries

were judged by a panel of Indiana visual arts professionals and then selected for display by Crouch and Mitchell.

Tips for getting rid of lawn moss A very common question I get is about moss on the home lawn.

There are all sorts of explanations I get on why the moss is %\ 0$5. .(3/(5 “crowding 'LUHFWRU out” their 3XUGXH ([WHQVLRQ grass. )XOWRQ &RXQW\ It is not doing that. It is simply taking advantage of a poor grass growing situation to flourish.

Most of the time the problem is shade. Grass does not grow in the heavy shade of a maple tree. A line I use when I do programs is, “grass does not grow in woods and trees do not grow on the prairie.” Grass needs sunlight to flourish. Even though you can find shady varieties of lawn grasses that are more tolerant to the shade, they still need some sun.

Mosses are small plants that look like a mass of fine stems that grow in a variety of conditions ranging from very wet to dry soils. They vary in size and are without a root system, but grow root-like filaments that attach to the soil or other substratum. I remember seeing a beautiful miniature Japanese garden created with several unique species of moss. There are about 12,000 species of moss in this world, so a knowledgeable and creative person could develop a magnificent landscape.

Mosses can invade lawns with low fertility, poor drainage, heavy shade, soil compaction, poor air circulation, or a combination of these factors.

Under poor growing conditions, moss plants are able to compete against turfgrass and infest thin lawns due to these poor growing conditions. Mosses are not harmful but many homeowners desire a thicker stand of turf vs. moss in their lawns.

Many people associate moss with a low pH. Their quick answer is to apply lime to the lawn.

Good ole, all-natural lime is probably the most abused product in a garden store.

The only permanent way to control moss in turf areas is to correct poor growing conditions causing the moss to overcome the turfgrasses. The following lawn maintenance practices will help control moss infestations: Fertilize lawns at least once per year. September is the prime time to fertilize turf for recovery from summer stress and to maintain a dense, green, deeply rooted turf with optimum energy reserves for future growth.

Increase air circulation. Areas surrounded by trees may block air circulation over the

turf. Pruning tree limbs or removing plants when feasible may help increase air movement over turf plants and help dry the soil surface.

Provide more light. Growing turf in the dense shade can be very challenging and this situation often forces the homeowner to choose between growing turf or trees. When practical, remove trees or prune tree limbs to provide more light to the turf. In many cases and when

Think about those bananas that are beginning to turn too brown and soft on your counter. Peel them, place them in a sealed bag or container, and freeze. They will now be ready for your next smoothie combination.

In general, to freeze your own fruit. Wash the fruit thoroughly under running water, pat dry with clean towels and freeze in a single layer on a rimmed cookie sheet. Individual pieces can then be transferred to a freezer bag or container after freezing.
