ADVERTISING AGREEMENT
Michigan Auto & RV is published weekly in an effort to assist those who are buying or selling new or used vehicles. Our publications are available on Wednesday in retail outlets throughout Michigan.
All advertisements and listings have been accepted for publication under the presumption that the information contained in them is true, and that all merchandise or services offered in the ads are available by the advertiser. Publication of advertising contained does not constitute endorsement. Contents of this publication are covered by Copyright © Auto & RV Publications, a division of The Papers Incorporated, 2025. All rights reserved.
Subscriptions are $7.50 per issue, which is mailed out each week, First-Class Mail®.
Business individual ads, subject to business rates, are defined as those individuals who have published ten or more vehicles or items in the past year; buy and sell vehicles or items as a for-profit venture; offer a product or service for sale; or operate from a storefront or function under a business name.
Your ad will run two or three weeks with the photo and description. After your two or three week run you may renew your ad at the original price. Renewal must be made within four weeks of expiration of the original ad. Such ads are limited to private owners only, one item per ad and one snapshot per ad. If there are more than one item and/or price, a $15.00 charge will be applied. Cancellations must be called in on or before deadline day (4 p.m.) for the following week’s issue. Prepayment is required! No credit or refund for new ads cancelled after the 4 p.m. deadline of first publication. New or renewed ads cancelled before 4 p.m. on the deadline day prior to first publication will be charged 50 percent of the original cost as a processing fee. The publisher retains the right to refuse any advertising. Reproduction in any form is prohibited without written permission of the publisher. Year
The year your vehicle came out is its number one selling feature. It needs to be printed in bold at the beginning of your ad. There’s a lot of difference between a Ford F150 and a Ford Windstar. Don’t just write Ford, Chevy or Dodge.
Use words such as excellent, brand new, antique, restored and needs work to describe your vehicle.
Round mileage off to the nearest hundred or simply say “low miles” if that’s true.
Color is a major selling feature. For some buyers it’s more important than the model.
List your vehicle’s features such as air conditioning, stereo, power locks, anti-lock brakes, air bags, etc.
Write “firm” after the price if you’re unwilling to bargain or write OBO which means “or best offer.”
This is the most important part of your ad. Make sure your phone number is correct. Let the potential buyer know when you’re available to answer their call.

Avoid confusion in your home by letting the buyer know who to ask for.
