HBASJV 2022 Builders Showcase highlights area builders

The Home Builders Association of Saint Joseph Valley’s Builders Showcase, May 7-15 is bigger and better than ever, highlighting the craftsmanship and design of its local builders. The 2022 event will feature 15 custom homes and neighborhoods throughout Michiana.

AWARD-WINNING HOMES

This year HBASJV is bringing back its traditional Builders Showcase that everyone loves. People can also garner a lot of information off the builders association website, www.hbashowcase.com which will be launched Friday, May 6.

The website will provide an opportunity for those who aren’t able to visit the showcase in person to do a virtual tour experience.

This year, the homes will be competing for prestigious awards in multiple categories, including: Best Curb Appeal, Best Kitchen, Best Bath, Best Floorplan and, of course, Best of Show. The winning homes will be announced online Friday, May 13.

Judging for the awards is done by an invited group of experts from outside the area. There is also a People’s Choice Award based on votes from visitors on the tour that will be announced after the event concludes.

HBASJV Executive Officer Bob Penrose said, “This year’s homes range from about $350,000 to over $1 million. “

Twelve different builders and developers will showcase homes and neighborhoods in South Bend, Granger, Osceola and Niles, Mich. Penrose said, “This is a great opportunity to meet our builders, see what they have to offer and start planning your dream home.”

NEW THIS YEAR

“We’re excited that this year the showcase will feature a home from the Penn High School Building Trade Program.” said Penrose. “Our association is proud to support all the local high school building trades programs. This is an exciting opportunity for students to show their home to the community.”

Penrose said this was the first time he was aware of a high school builder’s trade program being part of the Builders Showcase. Usually the homes such programs build aren’t done in time for the event.
