JOHN WHITE, JR.
NORTH JUDSON, IN - John White, Jr., 73, died Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Briarcliff Nursing Home in South Bend, Indiana. He was born September 13, 1949, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late John and Hattie (Merdia) White. On June 5, 1968, in Knox, Indiana, he married Betty Bradley.
John was a retired as a steelworker for US Steel. He loved dining out and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by one son, Bradley (Kellie) White of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, one daughter, Rochelle (Daniel) Punt of La Porte, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Bill (Judy) White of Hebron, Indiana two sisters: Jane Guffey of Albany, Kentucky and Marcia Enochs of North Judson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, one son, Johnny White and one sister, Shirley Gunter.
Services were held Friday, June 23, at 11am at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial was in the Round Lake Cemetery in Knox. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

FLOYD DEAN KISTLER
VALPARAISO, IN - FORMERLY OF LOWELL, IN - Floyd Dean “Pap” Kistler, 88, died Friday, June 16, 2023, at Aviva of Valparaiso in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was born November 21, 1934, in Winamac, Indiana, to the late Floyd Elroy and Letha Marie (Stewart) Kistler.
Dean was a 1952 graduate of Star City high School, where he was a Yell Leader. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, where he received laboratory technician training. He founded the Crown Point Clinical laboratory, which he operated for nearly 40 years. He was a member of the Indian Trail Grange #2361, and had served as the President for over 10 years. He enjoyed music and could play any song by ear on the piano and he could sing very well. Dean enjoyed numerous trips to Wyoming and attended the Cody Rodeo. He loved the outdoors, vegetable gardening, canning his own vegetables, trips to Turkey Run and bird watching. He was a talented cook and baker. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight sisters: Garnet Emma Rearick, Esther Denelia Hayes, Grace Thelma Straw, Thale Mae Feltis, Lura Elnora Feltis, Helen Marie Brown, Doris Baggerley and Janetta Jane Grice and two brothers: Lee Grant and Kenneth Keith Kistler.
Services were held Friday, June 23, at Frain Mortuary, with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial was in the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac. Memorial contributions may be made to Indian Trail Grange or Dunes Hospice.

YVONNE STOLL
MEDARYVILLE, IN - Yvonne Stoll, 70, died Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Indiana, after a battle with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. She was born June 22, 1952, in Winamac, Indiana, to the late Bonnie Joyce and John F. Stoll.
Yvonne was a 1970 graduate of North Judson-San Pierre High School in North Judson, Indiana. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Indiana University and her master’s degree from Purdue University. She taught 44 years at North Newton Lincoln Elementary School and received the teacher of the year award in 2016. She enjoyed playing with her nieces and nephews, reading books to them and cheering them on on at their sporting events. She loved her pets and everything Disney.
She is survived by three brothers: John W. Stoll of Westville, Indiana, Michael (Shelly) Stoll and Gregory (Carla) Stoll, both of North Judson, one sister, Bonita (Genes) Godsey of North Judson.
Services were held Tuesday, June 27, at O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. Burial was in the St. Jacob Cemetery in North Judson, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alpha-1 Foundation.

SANDRA K. RICHIE
KNOX, IN - Sandra K. “Sandy” Richie, 66, died Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at her home, after battling cancer for more than a year. She was born September 22, 1956, to the late Dan and Geardean Craft.
Sandy enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, LaVelle, four children: Vicki (Randy Minix) Richie, Phillip (Kristie Spaulding) Richie, Jennifer Richie and Wade Richie, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers: James Craft and John Craft and one sister, Sharon Dryer. She was preceded in death by two great grandsons: Connor and Matthew and two brothers: Roger and Mike.
A gathering of family and friends was held on Sunday, June 25, at O’Donnell Funeral Home.

MATZAT
CULVER, IN - Olga Alma Matzat, 95, died at 1:30am, Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the River Bend Assisted Living Facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born February 26, 1928, in Lithuania to the late Karl and Emma (Jakubat) Redweik. On July 27, 1951, she married Henry Matzat.
Olga and her family escaped Germany in 1941 and arrived in the United States on April 28, 1948. She retired from Culver Military Academy after 48 years of service in the laudry/ uniform department.
She is survived by her children: Ken (Sue) Matzat of Pleasant Plains, Illinois, John Matzat of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Bonnie (Ed) Raffel of Kewanna, Indiana, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two step great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, two infant daughters: Debbie and Connie, four brothers: Arthur, Edwin, Ewald and Robert, one sister, Meta and two half brothers: Karl and Roland.
Services were held Saturday, June 24, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, North Judson. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

BENJAMIN ADAM ROBBINS
WINAMAC, IN - FORMERLY OF KEWANNA, IN - Benjamin Adam Robbins, 37, died Wednesday, June 21, 2023. He was born April 14, 1986, in Hartford City, Indiana to Randal Alan and Susan Carol (Batten) Robbins. On June 30, 2011, in Monticello, Indiana, he married Marissa Ann Roe.
Ben was a 2004 graduate of North Judson-San Pierre High School in North Judson, Indiana. He served in the National Guard for 8 years-with 14 months of active duty in Iraq. He worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 11 years, starting as a conductor and working his way up to engineer and remote operator. He had also worked at FedEx and Rochester Metal Products, where he was currently employed. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local #3261-01.
Ben was a talented mechanic and liked tinkering on cars. He enjoyed the outdoors, bonfires, hunting, fishing & building model cars with his kids. He loved his family very much.
He is survived by his wife, Marissa, three daughters: Trista Kay Robbins, Elizabeth Marie Robbins and Annabelle Sophia Robbins and one son, Benjamin Adam Robbins II, all of Winamac, his parents, Randal and
Susan Robbins of Buckeye, Arizona, two sisters: Abigail (James) Peterson and Megan (Brandon) Mareska, both of Buckeye and three brothers: Christopher Robbins of Medaryville, Indiana, Nathaniel (Tyler) Robbins of Goodyear, Arizona and Caleb (Taylor) Robbins of Kewanna, and former wife, Heather Stavedahl of Winamac.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jeremiah Robbins.
Services were held Tuesday, June 27, at Frain Mortuary, with Pastor Stepehn Sundquist officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Warrior Youth Baseball.

FAYE LYNN REDWEIK LEONARD
WINAMAC, IN - Faye Lynn Redweik Leonard, 74, died Friday, June 23, 2023, at her home. She was born August 28, 1948, in North Judson, Indiana, to the late Robert R. and AnnaBelle (Lash) Royce. On November 4, 1967, She married Edwin Emil Redweik. He died March 10, 1973. On December 6, 1975, she married Edward David Leonard.
Faye had worked at Gilsinger’s in Winamac for many years. She retired in 2010. She was a longtime member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac, where she formerly taught Sunday school. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and to casinos. She enjoyed getting lottery tickets and scratch offs, crocheting, patching clothes for the family and was an avid Judge Judy watcher. She loved her family fiercely.
She is survived by her husband, Edward, two sons: Karl R. (Laura) Redweik and Kevin E. Redweik, all of Winamac, two daughters: Kellie A. Leonard Haselby of Winamac and Karrie L. (Andy) McCay of Argos, Indiana, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren with one on the way, and one sister, Anna Mae Mullins of Wanatah, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Infant James McCay and infant Olivia Redweik, one great grandson, Infant Avery Tersigni, one sister, Karen Tripenfeldas and one brother, Robert W. Royce. Visitation will be from 4-8pm EDT, Wednesday, June 28, at Frain Mortuary. Services will be held at 11am EDT, Thursday, June 29, at the funeral home, with Pastor Tom Woodley officiating. NORTH JUDSON, IN - Laura Noble, 76, died Thursday, June 22, 2023, in La Porte, Indiana. She was born October 1, 1946, in Jackson, Kentucky, to the late Ray Hatfield and the late Ruby (Miller) Hudson. On February 18, 1962, she married Ivan E. Noble.
Laura was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was an active member of the Aldine Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing, teaching Sunday school and attending church whenever she could.
She is survived by two sons: Dean (Sheila) Noble of North Judson and Steven (Tracy) Noble of Chicago, Illinois, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two brothers: James and Mike Hudson, both of Hardshell, Kentucky and three sisters: Donna Combs of Hardshell, Billie Grob of Lexington, Kentucky and Adna (Douglas) Noble of Lost Creek, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan.
Friends will be received from 3pm Friday, June 30, until time of service, which will begin at 6pm, at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home.

CHARLES K. VORM
Charles K. Vorm, 71, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family, after battling CNS Lymphoma since last December. Charlie was born October 26, 1951, in LaPorte, IN, to Nels Vorm and Helen(Kelley) Cutler.
On December, 11, 2013, he married Julie Workman, who survives. Also surviving are his 3 children, Erika (James) Johnston of North Judson, Kirsten (Andrew) Martin of North Judson, Alyse (Zachary) Albers of Valparaiso, IN; Julie’s 3 children, Suzann (Josh) McLaughlin of Knox, IN, Weston (Rose) Workman of Culver, IN, and Josh (Jenna) Workman of Culver, IN; 17 grandchildren Delaney, Reese, Lindley, Avaree, Emaree, Cadence, Brody, Corinne, Ashton, Myles, Mason, Deegan, Madden, Delaney, Danae, Jordanna, Delilah; siblings Bobby (Cindy) Cutler of Palm Coast, FL, Linda (David) Hughes of Mission Viego, CA, Laura Stanley of Mesa, AZ, Eric (Julie) Vorm of Fishers, IN, Joel (Dana) Cutler of Indianapolis, IN; 1 hunting buddy Barkley. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father Robert Cutler, and step brother John Cutler.
Charlie spent his childhood in North Judson and then moved to LaPorte where he graduated high school. He began his career working in his step-family’s funeral home business, where he graduated from Worsham Mortuary School, and became a licensed mortician. He eventually had a change of heart and decided he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps. In 1972, Charlie moved back to North Judson and began working at American Oak Preserving Co. for his Uncle Fred. In 1985, he acquired the company from Fred and became the President, he served in that capacity for nearly 40 years until becoming ill in December. For the last 20 years, he proudly ran the company alongside his 3 daughters. In addition to the above, Charlie also found time to serve as a volunteer firefighter for the NJFD (in his younger years) as well as operate a local pumpkin farm. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed lots of early mornings in the duck blinds, golfing with his buddies, doing crossword puzzles on the porch, and sipping his signature Beefeater martini with exactly 2 olives.

A Graveside Service was held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Highland Cemetery in North Judson, IN. A meal followed the service at the Maxinkuckee Country Club in Culver, IN.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to CV’s Yellow River Duck Club or a charity of your choice, in his honor.
RAYMOND EDWARD BACHERT
WESTFIELD, IN - Raymond Edward Bachert, 77, died Friday, June 23, 2023, at his home. He was born September 4, 1945, to the late Ora and Mabel (Schacht) Bachert. In 1968, he married Karen Kerns.

Ray was a 1963 graduate of North Judson High School in North Judson, Indiana and Acme Institute of Technlogy. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer. He enjoyed an early retirement, traveling, gardening and helping the family farm. He loved gathering with and attending all the events of his ten grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, three daughters: Michelle (Sam) Schenk, Susan (Brad) Sponhauer and Mary (Matt) McGreal, ten grandchildren, one brother, Art (Christie) Bachert and one sister, Karen (Bruce) Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jim.
Friends are invited to gather at St. Martia Goretti Catholic Church for viewing from 12-2 and Mass beginning at 2 EST. Donations may be made to Rock Steady Boxing c/o Witham Hospital.
