Meet: Judy Lochbihler, artist
A lifelong love for waterskiing led Judy to create her first waterski chair. And now, 50 chairs later, she’s created a niche she’s proud of… and we think her talent is something to celebrate.

Growing up on Lake Wawasee, Judy has waterskied virtually all her life. Combine her water-centered past with an impressive level of artistry, and what you get is a creative lake-loving soul using her talents to add a little more beauty to the world.
Using her water skis of yesteryear, Judy transformed them into an amazingly beautiful, cheery chair. One that belongs lakeside, holding a lake-loving soul, and perhaps a grandson or two.
Judy enjoyed the result of her first chair so much that she started making them for others. Today having designed and created more than 50 chairs total, she’s made some chairs for simple fun, some for colorful aesthetics and function, and some have held a deeper meaning and symbolic significance.
One such chair made was from the skis of a client’s father and brother who were deceased, in memory of their years as champion skiers.
We’d say Judy’s work is pretty special.
And her work also provides some play. Judy plays a game with her grandsons when on boat rides… Think: "Finding Waldo," except their game is “Finding Grandma's Chairs.”
Artistry, creativity, a love for the lakes + family, and one talented soul to pull them all together in a timeless piece. Cheers to you (and your chairs), Judy!
