If you’re ready for a fresh look this spring, take a cue from this season’s fun and happy nail trends. There’s something for ever yone this year soft and bright hues, multiple shapes, plus 3-D stickers and gems for special flair

A New (French) Twist
The French manicure is a classic for a reason it ’s a subtle look that works for daytime and nighttime. From square to stiletto, nail shapes change with the times and even with the season. This spring is no exception. “ The shape of the nail is getting softer edges, ” said Britney Kleinhans, cosmetologist at Southwest Hair & Day Spa “So if clients are used to getting a square shape maybe it's time to tr y rounding the corners of it a little for a more ‘squoval’ or rounded shape ”
Embrace the Brights and Lights
To stay on trend, choose colors on both ends of the spectrum. “ The main trends we are seeing in nail colors for spring are soft pastels and primar y colors, ” said Kleinhans. Pastels include the usual soft pink and lavender shades but also ex tend to buttercup yellow and even a soft sage green


On the bright side, go for bold primaries of red, blue and yellow with a shiny lacquered finish Combine two or three of these with a bold pattern to really embrace the trend
If you really want to mix it up, Kleinhans has a hot tip for you “Anyone look ing for nails that really stand out in a crowd should tr y abstrac t nails. Don’t forget to take care of your nails “My biggest tip for keeping nails healthy is to keep them moisturized, ” said Kleinhans “Using cuticle oil at least once a day can help keep nails and cuticles moisturized and will help ex tend the life of your manicure My favorite is CND Solar Oil ” While you’re at it, go for health over length, ensuring nails have a strong foundation.
