Shine Your (Girl) Power glo
from Glo - May 2018
Last Thursday was a stiletto kind of day. When I married Joe, that is Yes friends, after many years, cheers and tears together, we made the ultimate, sacred vow that forever says, “I do ” A realistic triple-combo of weathering storms, embracing still moments and par tying with the best of ‘em, Joe and I are battletested, scarred and deeply grateful all in one
Life can be tough And it can be beautiful. And the two can (and should) coexist like, well, a loving, steadfast husband and wife.

From celebrating Gal Grads (yes, submit a pic of your gal grad to be included just email to Sue!) to helping gals find the best gift for hubbies and honeys on Father ’s Day, the June issue will be full of inspiration, celebration and yes, positivit y and girl power!
Are YOU a female business owner? Or, do you know of one? Reach out to Melinda to help us promote savv y business gals Learn bare beaut y tips, soak up the sunshine and learn common keys to success. Count on this (and so much more!), coming soon in glo’s June issue

It rained on our wedding day Friends said that meant luck I say it was reality reminding us that love can endure amidst the storms It can And it does So while it was a stiletto kind of day? Galoshes would’ve worked too.

It’s the irony of consistent contradiction that is this thing called life. And this irony can ser ve as an invigorating reminder that we are alive, that reality prevails and that it’s our attitudes that color life We must consciously choose a world of positivity and love With deliberate focus, we can all grasp the power of positivity ; its strength is beyond comprehension I’ll choose it, how about you?
And, friends, it ’s through this view of positivity of gratefulness for yesterday and believing in goodness to come that I must now announce my depar ture.

I will soon move away from the Midwest, and while I will remain in publishing, I am saying goodbye to a nearly 20-year career in print magazines, ser ving this amazing region. Why the change? Because life is unpredictable and sometimes we must embrace life’s surprises.
So while my hear t is heavy to say goodbye as I have so loved glo, all for which it stands and all who graciously read this creation my spirits are also lifted Why? We can still be connected in my next publishing phase, if you wish to be glo is and will remain in great hands, so please, as one reader said, “Keep on glo-ing ” And for those who also wish to follow my journey, I invite you to join me on June 1 for the launch of www.InSuesShoes.com
What ’s InSuesShoes com about? It ’s not about me, nor is it about shoes (sorr y about that one) Instead, it ’s about life and the many shoes we all wear as we traipse, trip and skip through life’s journey Laugh with me Embrace life’s goodness and together, whether in fuzz y slippers, hiking books, bejeweled stilettos or laced up running shoes, let ’s step together in this gift called life
I’ll see you once more in glo’s June issue and until then, enjoy the piece within your hands From celebrating Mother ’s Day to learning the habits of ‘Dreamers and Doers’ to best tips for brides, this issue is full of grea n Enjoy
