Five outstanding homes created by three of the top builders in the region are showcased on this year’s tour. All five homes are situated on some of northeast Indiana’s finest lakes. If you want to see an absolutely one-of-a-kind property, then you do not want to miss this home! Two very small cottages on separate, adjacent parcels comprised the original site when we first visited in July of 2020.

The vision was to create a four bedroom main home on the roadside parcel, and to have a dedicated entertainment structure at the shore on the lakeside parcel. With the property situated on a significant hillside, the homeowners desired to have all of the amenities needed at the lakeside pavilion to be able to spend the day at the water’s edge without having to repeatedly climb stairs to the main home.

Due to zoning constraints, we maintained the original shell structure of the existing lakeside cottage, and re-built it from the inside out, adding two glass overhead doors toward the lake, vaulting the interior ceilings, and installing a new kitchen and bathroom. It has become the perfect water’s edge entertainment space!

Approximately halfway up the hillside, the second existing 450 square foot cottage was torn down completely. We constructed a new 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath contemporary home nestled into the hillside. This home is all about the views! As you enter the home through the intentionally unpresumptuous covered front entry, you are released to an unobstructed view across the second basin of Lake James. Natural light and views are maximized throughout the home. From the master bedroom, you will feel as if you are standing in the trees right above the shoreline. The second master bedroom boasts views across second basin, and a peek all the way to the entrance to third basin through the transom window. We are looking forward to sharing this incredible property with you!
