NORTH JUDSON, IN - Jacob “Jake” Garcia, 24, died Thursday, March 16, 2023, in Winamac, Indiana. He was born August 25, 1998, to Amador Garcia Jr. and Cindy Campbell Seward.

Jake was a general laborer at MCP USAin Portage, Indiana. He was a loving father, loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the outdoors and all of his adventures.

He is survived by one daughter, Willow Collins of Kokomo, Indiana, his parents: Amador (Dawn)Garcia Jr. of North Judson, Cindy (Marvin) Campbell Seward of Winamac, one brother, Cody Campbell of Warsaw, Indiana, three sisters: Amanda (Brandon) Haines of Plymouth, Indiana and Alyssa and Alaina Garcia, both of North Judson and grandparents, Amador and Inez Garcia of North Judson. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Pearl and Rosie Campbell.

Acelebration of life will be held from 12-6pm on June 3, 2023, at the North Judson American Legion.

Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson.

MARGARET JACKSON

NORTH JUDSON, IN -Margaret Fay

“Marty” Jackson, 50, died Friday, March 17, 2023. She was born March 29, 1972, to the late Donald L. and Virginia “Fay” Ledford.

Marty loved being surrounded by her family and friends, reading and traveling. She always came up with nicknames for everyone.

She is survived by her husband, David Ward, three daughters: Katherine Ledford of North Judson, Sarah (Nathan) Clopp of Fairborn, Ohio and Kayla Ward of Dayton, Ohio, four sons: Donovan (Michaela) Ward and Fabian Ward, both of Rochester, Indiana, David (Shaylin) Ward of Winchester, Indiana and Keith Ward of Portland, Indiana, eighteen grandchildren and one on the way, three brothers: Bryan (Dana) Ledford, Glenn (Traci)Minix and Scott (Angie)Minix, all from Winamac and four sisters: Hazel (Wayne) Moncel of Monon, Indiana, Debra (Gale)Copp of Knox, Indiana, Patricia (Mark) Richards of Marion, Indiana and Joy Shepherd of North Judson. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Short, grandparents: Grover and Hazel Minix, Paul and Margaret Ledford, two sisters: Judy Minix and Ann Hopkins and two brothers: Christison Minix and Steven Ledford.

Graveside services were held Friday, March 24, at the Goodway Baptist Church Cemetery in Medaryville, Indiana.

Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, North Judson.

ROBIN R. SOLOMON

WINAMAC, IN - Robin R. Solomon, 65, died at 2:05pm, Thursday, March 30, 2023. He was born August 26, 1957, in North Judson, Indiana, to the late James E. and Aletha I. (Clark) Solomon. Robin was a 1975 graduate of Pioneer High School in Royal Center, Indiana. He was the owner/operator of TippyCanoe Rentals in Winamac for many years. He enjoyed repairing starting pistols, attending field trials, training his hunting and retrieving dogs, the outdoors and spending time at the Tippecanoe River State Park and on the Tippecanoe River.

He is survived by one son, Ty (Jennifer)Solomon of Kokomo, Indiana, one daughter, Sky (Abhinay) Kolan of Westfield, Indiana, one grandson and two sisters: Vicky Hinkle and Lisa (Eli) Van Es, both of Logansport, Indiana and his friend, Theresa Pence of Kokomo. He was preceded in death by one sister, Debora L. Craft.

Amemorial service will be held at 5pm EDT, Monday, April 10, at Frain Mortuary, with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Private burial will take place at Reed Cemetery in Winamac. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Tippecanoe River State Park.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary, Winamac.

BARBARA SCAMMERHORN

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Barbara Scammerhorn, 80, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, after fighting a long battle with COPD. She was born April 12, 1942, in Winamac, Indiana, to the late Frank and Theresa Nowak. In June of 1963, she married Wayne Scammerhorn. He died in 2007.

Barb was a graduate of North Judson High School, a lifelong resident of North Judson, a dedicated CVS employee and Halloween Shenanigans Coordinator of the famous “Witches on George Street”.

She is survived by her children: Marc (Eva)Scammerhorn and Erin (Oran) Scammerhorn Wray, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three brothers: Ray, Dennis and Jeffery (Janna) Nowak. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Scammerhorn Mullins.

Her service will be held graveside at the St. Jacob Catholic Cemetery in North Judson at 11:30am CSTon

Saturday, April 15, with a lunch to follow.

Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson.

HARRYWILLIAM LEMKE

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Harry William

Lemke, 77, died Thursday, March 30, 2023. He was born April 22, 1945, to the late Harry R. Lemke Sr. and Margaret (Heidel) Lemke. On June 18, 1966, he married Dana Miracle.

Harry was a 1964 graduate of North Judson High School. He worked in construction, for the town, and worked at and retired from the Ford Stamping plant in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He volunteered for the North Judson Fire Department for over 20 years and at St. Peter Lutheran School for numerous years.

He is survived by his wife, Dana, two sons: Robert (Jen) Lemke of Portage, Indiana and Michael (Jeri) Lemke of Hickory, North Carolina and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert. Services were held Monday, April 3, at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, North Judson. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter Lutheran School.

Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson.

ARMELE. WIREMAN

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Armel E. “Carl” Wireman, 84, died Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver, Indiana. He was born September 25, 1938, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to the late Simon and Georgia (Joseph) Wireman, Sr.

Carl had worked as a carpenter for many years and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He loved his family and friends very much.

He is survived by three daughters: Pebbles Wireman and Angie Rose, both of Plymouth, Indiana and Cindy Lynch of DeMotte, Indiana, seven sons: Joey (Sherry) Wireman, Ronnie Wireman and Randy Taylor, all of Knox, Indiana, David Wireman of La Crosse, Indiana, Ricky Wireman of Maryland, Karl (Ruthie) Taylor of Winamac, Indiana and Michael (Brenda)Taylor of Lake Bruce, Indiana, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister, Josephine (Farish) Wireman of Rensselaer, Indiana and two brothers: Donald (Stella Kasnick) Wireman of Rensselaer and Clayton (Linda) Wireman of DeMotte.

He was preceded in death by his fiancée, Clara Ulm, one son, Timothy Wireman, one grandson, Bruce Wireman, three brothers: Simon Jr., Chuck and Rosco Wireman and two sisters: Janis and Ruby Wireman.

Services were held Tuesday, March 28, at Frain Mortuary, with Rev. Pebbles Wireman M.A. officiating. Burial was in the Mt.Zion-Franklin Twp. Cemetery in Winamac.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary, Winamac.

EDWARD LISAC JR.

KNOX, IN - Edward Lisac Jr., 87, died Friday, March 31, 2023, at his home. He was born December 4, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Edward Lisac Sr. and Anna Nejman Lisac. On June 22, 1957, he married Joanne Primer.

Ed loved fishing and jigsaw puzzles and was an avid White Sox and Bears fan. He was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Knox, where he had been an usher.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne, children: Jim (Denise) Lisac and Cris Lisac, both of Knox and Diane (Bruce) Madderom of Newport, New York, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two sisters: Shirley Olejniczak of Michigan City, Indiana and Sharon (Pat)Gorman of Orland Park, Illinois. He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Lisac.

Amemorial mass will take place on Monday, April 10, at 11am CT, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox.

EUGENE GROSS

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Eugene A. Gross, 101, died Monday, March 20, 2023. He was born April 2, 1921, in LaCrosse, Indiana, to the late Louis and Johanna Gross. On September 9, 1950, he married Geraldine Benesh.

Eugene was a proud WWII Army veteran. He loved spending time with his family, sports and feeding the birds.

He is survived by three children: Barbara Gross, Paul (Cheryl) Gross and Sonja (Joe)Caputo, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Aprivate service with immediate family will be held.

Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson.

The family of Shirley (Singleton) Bukowski will be gathering to celebrate her life at her home church, officiated by Heath Hiatt, and would be honored if you’d join them.

As a teacher of North Judson - San Pierre Elementary for 28 years, Shirley touched many lives. Join them as they pay tribute to her memories and celebrate the love, joy, compassion and inspiration to all that knew her.

KNOX, IN - Monica S. (Romine) Shivley, 55, died November 20, 2022. She was born July 19, 1967, to Patsy (Collins) Romine.

Monica dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by three children: Dustin (Kayta), Robin Jr. and Tiffany, five grandchildren, her mother, Patsy Romine and one brother, Shawn (Kim) Bradstreet, all of Knox. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
