WINAMAC, IN - Raymond “Bruce” Stamper, 72, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at his home.
Bruce was a veteran of the US Special Forces during the Vietnam era. He owned and operated a bar in Valparaiso, Indiana for 27 years. He enjoyed traveling, history, Harley Davidson, the Chicago Bears and spending time with his family.
He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Stamper and two brothers: Pet and Richard “Dick” Stamper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Howard Stamper. No services will be held.
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

CAROLJEAN ZACHARY

GROVERTOWN, IN - Carol Jean
Zachary, 79, died Thursday, March 2, 2023. She was born January 13, 1944, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. In 1960, she married James Howard Zachary.
Carol raced cars with her husband in her early years and would brag about winning the Powder Puff race her first time racing. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, being outside, watching game shows, playing cards and spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by two daughters: Teresa (Tom) Jordan of Knox, Indiana and Kim Allen of Plymouth, Indiana, two sons: James Zachary of Knox and David Zachary of South Bend, Indiana, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one brother, Ray (Carla) Cox of Redkey, Indiana and one sister, Linda Fields of Muncie, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, James and her parents, Kenneth and Elsie (Black) Cox.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox.
DR. REV. JAMES H. GABHART FRANCESVILLE, IN - FORMERLYOF
WINAMAC, IN - Dr. Rev. James H. Gabhart, 96, died Friday, February 24, 2023. He was born September 9, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Arthur L. and Della V. (Turofske) Gabhart. On July 11, 1953, in Akron, he married Esther Joan Vanderley. She died March 16, 2019.
Pastor Gabhart served 10 years in the US Armed Forces being an enlisted paratrooper in Germany, and an Air Force electronics-armament officer in SAC at various stations. He was educated at the University of Akron, Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana and Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, Florida. He held a Doctor of Ministry Degree, Master of Theology Degree and a Master of Divinity Degree.
Pastor Gabhart served churches in Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and Mississippi. He was an officer in several ministerial organizations and after his retirement in 1991, he supplied pulpits in 43 area churches, did nine interims for pastorless churches and worked in fabrics at the Winamac G.L. Perry. He also served as a volunteer chaplain at Pulaski Memorial Hospital. He was a regular book reviewer for the Baptist Bulletin and The Grace Journal. He enjoyed gardening, walking, stamp collecting, sharing the Gospel and spending time with his family.
He is survived by three daughters: Patty Hanson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Della (Dave) Myers of Francesville, and Alida (Roger) Mays of Delphi, Indiana, one son, James H. (Lorri)Gabhart II of Sun City, Arizona, fifteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Visitation from 4-8pm EST, Tuesday, March 7, at Frain Mortuary QuerryUlbricht Chapel. Services will be at 10am EST, Wednesday, March 8, at the Funeral home, with Pastor BIll McNabney and AJ Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery.

BOURBON, IN - Phillip Wendell “Phil” Mullins, 47, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in Bourbon, Indiana. He was born May 9, 1975, in Knox, Indiana, to Wendell and Alleene (Stacy)Mullins.
Phil enjoyed his work, Harley Davidson motorcycles, old cars and spending time with his family. He worked as a Tow Truck Driver for T&TAuto, Inc.
He is survived by his life partner, Brandy Pulver of Bourbon, six sons: P. Bryan Mullins, Chandler Braxton Ake and Andrew Karl Pulver, all of Plymouth, Indiana, Cody Carlson of LaPorte, Indiana, Kaleb Brayden Mullins of Grovertown, Indiana and Jacob Tyler Pulver of Knox, two grandchildren, his parents, Wendell and Alleene Mullins of Grovertown, one sister, Shelry Mullins of Grovertown and one brother, Thomas (Shellie) Scott Mullins of Culver, Indiana. Friends will be received from 4-8pm, CST, Tuesday, March 7 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, with services at 11am CST, Wednesday, March 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fletcher Cemetery, Hamlet, Indiana. Contributions may be made to the family. Arrangements were made by Braman &Son Memorial Chapel, Knox.
