INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Phillip Bond Lowery RPh, 58, died Saturday, March 18, 2023, at his home, from metastatic prostate cancer. He was born January 7, 1965, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late William and Nancy (Trosper) Lowery. On March 10, 1990, he married Suzanne Gutwein.
Phil was a 1983 graduate of Plainfield High School and then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Butler University in 1988. HE dedicated 35 years to Merck &Co., Inc., where he held 12 positions over the years, primarily in the Vaccine Division. He was a member of the Lower Providence Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed cooking, traveling and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, three children: Dr. Madeleine Lowery, Drs. Andrew (Gabija) Lowery and Paulina Lowery and two brothers: Robert Lowery and Dr. Doug (Missy) Lowery. He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard.
Local funeral services were held Monday, March 27, at Frain Mortuary. Burial was in the Roseland Cemetery in Francesville, Indiana. Donations may be made to My Stuff Bags Foundation.
Local arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary, Francesville.

KNOX, IN - Danny B. Traylor, 63, died Friday, March 17, 2023, in Knox, Indiana. He was born February 3, 1960, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Edward and Barbara (Ballenger) Traylor.
Danny was a member of the Knox VFW and was retired from the US Army.
He is survived by one son, Danny Traylor of Garland, Texas, one daughter, Christina Wibowo of Dallas, Texas, his mother, Barbara Traylor of Grass Valley, California, two brothers: Darrell (Delia) Traylor of Grass Valley and Donny Traylor of Mansfield, Texas and one sister, Dianna Traylor of Grass Valley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, his father, Edward and one brother, Dennis Traylor.
No services will be held at this time.

ARGOS, IN - Janice M. Price, 74, died Monday, March 20, 2023, in Elkhart, Indiana. She was born October 12, 1948, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Gordon and Vivian (Smith) Price.
Janice enjoyed crocheting, listening to country and Elvis music and spending time with her family. She had worked as a cook for a nursing home.
She is survived by two sons: John Henry Davis of Princeton, Indiana and James (Bethany) Davis of Knox, Indiana, two daughters: JoAnn (Edward) Hughes of Walkerton, Indiana and Janet Hillers of Crown Point, Indiana, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and two grandsons she raised as her own, one brother, John Kraus of Elkhart, Indiana and one sister, Carol (William) Getha of Argos. She was preceded in death by one grandson, one great grandson, one brother, Gary Price and two sisters: Paula Riddle and Patricia Barton.
Services were held Friday, March 24, at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, North Judson, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or Riley Children’s Hospital.

KNOX, IN - Devona Joyce Slavens, 85, died Monday, March 20, 2023, in Knox, Indiana. She was born September 20, 1937, in Hamlet, Indiana, to the late William and Clara (Hyatte)Romine.
Devona enjoyed jugsaw puzzles, playing cards, crosswords, doing cross stitch and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Beth (Federico Soto) Slavens of South Bend, Indiana, one granddaughter and two sisters: Zola Ferch of Hamlet and Mary Ann Awald of Walkerton, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Slavens.
Services will be held at a later date, with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Braman &Son Memorial Chapel, Knox.
CHARLOTTE M. BERGER
STAR CITY, IN - Charlotte M. Berger, 94, died Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello, Indiana. She was born December 19, 1928, in rural White County, Indiana, to the late Isadore V. and Gloria M. (Snow) Roth. On July 21, 1951, in Pulaski, Indiana, she married Raymond I. “Ray” Berger. He died March 14, 2019.
Charlotte was a 1946 graduate of Royal Center High School and attended St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski, where she participated in the Christian Mothers Society, taught Catechism and served as church organist for nearly 20 years. She was a member of the Niteliters Home Ec Club. Charlotte enjoyed painting, writing poetry, music, crossword puzzles, traveling internationally. She had the unique experience of serving as a juror during the Ford Pinto trial. She retired in 1998 from Winamac High School, where she had worked as a Audio-Visual aide. She loved her family very much.
She is survived by one daughter: Christina Fugate of Monticello, three sons: Frederick (Sally) Berger of Rensselaer, Indiana, Larry (Laura) Berger of Monticello and Jonathan (Jena) Berger of Indianapolis, Indiana, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two brothers: Doyle Roth of Pulaski and Ronald (Marlene) Roth, Sr. of Monticello. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Arvilla Thornbury, Phyllis Foerg and Dolores Gading.

Wednesday, March 29, at Frain Mortuary. Afuneral mass will be held at 11am EDTon Thursday, March 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Andrew DeKeyser officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery South in Pulaski. Memorials may be made in the form of Mass Intentions.

HAMLET, IN - Jerry E. Beem, 55, died Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at his home. He was born February 13, 1968, to the late Gilbert Beem Sr. and Brenda (Olds) Secord.
Jerry lived in the area his entire life and was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved spending time with his family. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by one son, Jordon
(Ashley) Beem of Koontz Lake, Indiana, one daughter, Cynthia Beem of Knox, Indiana, two grandchildren, one sister, Laura (Shelby Schneider) Beem of Knox and one brother, Gilbert Beem Jr. of Hanna, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one son, Aaron Joseph Beem and two brothers: Thomas and Terry Beem.
Services were held Tuesday, March 28, at the Rannells Funeral Home. Arrangements were made by Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel.

"MURPH" WYNN
KNOX, IN - Murphy A. "Murph" Wynn, 69, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at his home.
Murph, the youngest of 15 children, was born on February 21, 1954, in Wallins, KY, to the late Brady Wynn, Sr. and Delora Hensley Wynn. He later moved to Indiana at the age of 16, and has lived in this area most of his life. He was a semi-retired stonemason who always kept busy working on some project. Murph had many interests, including hunting, fishing, playing guitar, card games, cooking, and being outdoors. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren were most precious to him.
On November 21, 1998, in Delong, IN, Murph married Barbara Black Riffey, who surives. Other survivors include four sons, Joshua (Heather) Wynn of Grovertown, Jordan (Lyndsie) Wynn of Plymouth, Robin (Jennifer) Riffey of Culver, and James (Tabitha) Riffey of Grovertown. Two daughters, Elizabeth (David) Lacy, of Forney, TX, and Kelly Shotsman, of Kewanna. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Three brothers, Brady (Charlotte), Jr. of Paducah, KY, Ralph of Clinton, TN, Jerry (Patsy) of Harlan, KY. One sister, Barbara Sue Wynn, of Newark, DE. In addition to his parents, Murph was preceded in death by seven brothers, Monroe, Noble, Charles, Elmer, Hershel, Kenneth and Herbert Wynn, and three sisters, Dolly Jane Wynn, Jewel Blanton, and Jean Besaw.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Central Time) on Thursday, March 30 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, 108 S. Main St., Knox, IN.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. (Central Time) on Thursday, March 30 at Braman & Son with Pastor Steve Schumerth officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
