MARY OF NAZARETH FACT FROM FICTION by Friedrich Gomez She is, without question, the most famous teenager in world history. Whether one subscribes to Biblical Scriptures or not, regardless if one is atheist or believer, most citizens on planet Earth – across different cultures and language translations – have heard of Mary of Nazareth, and the alleged supernatural claims connecting her to the Christian Messiah (derived from the Hebrew word, Mashiach or Moshiach, meaning “Anointed One”).
AS A HISTORICAL FIGURE, SHE IS VIEWED BY BOTH SECULAR & RELIGIOUS SCHOLARS. There is no serious dispute among both the world’s most august religious and non-religious scholars that Mary of Nazareth truly existed as a historical figure. The diversion occurs regarding both Christian and Islamic claims of the supernatural events surrounding her life, and the opposing views of non-religious scholars who study her historical reality

without subscribing to any aspects of divinity. That is not say that secular (nonreligious) scholars do not study the religious faiths and their perceived “dogma” belief system in the same way that secular scholars study all ancient cultures and their perceptions of various deities. planet’s 8 billion inhabitants believe in the “Virgin Birth,” that is, that Mary miraculously gave birth to her son (Jesus) purely through divine intervention. Mary’s life is one of such fantastic claims and events that they, collectively, stagger the human imagination to the point of contention.
