Sex trial

CALUM Best has been accused of sexual assault after a British woman claimed he ‘forced her to touch his genitals’ at an Ibiza beach club The reality star, 42, faces a three-year prison sentence if found guilty by a trio of investigative judges. He is expected to plead not guilty in the trial, which started on Tuesday, January 9. The son of footballer George Best was arrested at Wayne Lineker’s Ibiza beach club in April 2022. There, he allegedly grabbed a British tourist’s hand and 'put it on his privates under his trousers', telling her to ‘feel this’. The alleged victim was left ‘in shock’ after the incident at O Beach Club during Wayne Lineker’s 60th birthday party. Best was detained after the incident in Ibiza but was released a day later while a criminal investigation ensued. The chair of Dorking Wanderers FC’s women’s side, Best has denied any wrongdoing.

Celebrity

He became famous after winning the 2006 series of Celebrity Love Island alongside Bianca Gasciogne. He has also starred in two seasons of Celebrity Big Brother. Spanish prosecutors are calling for the maximum three-year sentence. The alleged crime took place on April 22, 2022, according to the Spanish prosecutors’ pre-indictment. The document accuses Best of kissing a tourist he was seen arguing with moments before over photos she had taken. It is stated he then grabbed the victim’s hand and put it down his trousers, saying ‘feel this’. Prosecutors claim the reality star’s actions were motivated by ‘satisfying his sexual desire.' The accuser, a female holidaymaker from the UK, was visiting the beach club with friends. She testified that ‘there was some kind of forcing’ by Best and that she left the club and notified security immediately afterwards. The alleged victim said: “The security man asked if he was one of Wayne Lineker's friends and when I said ‘yes’ he laughed, said this happens all the time and told me he wasn't going to call police.” Prosecutors are seeking three-years in prison for Best, a restraining order forbidding him from coming within 100m of the alleged victim and a fiveyear ban from contacting her. They are also hoping to ban him from working with minors for eight years. The trial continues. The trial will be decided by three judges, and not a jury.

After Alex Batty is finally reunited with his grandmother after six years, another expat child ‘missing’ in Spain

BRING HIM HOME

British mother’s desperate appeal after son, 14, ‘is kidnapped by father’ during Iberian summer holiday THE family of a missing British teenager has launched a fresh appeal to bring him home – some 16 months after they last saw him. Jayden Pearson, 14, was last seen by his mother, Rebecca Jones, when she waved him off on a 10day trip to the Algarve in August 2022. Rebecca, 35 - who has legal custody - believes Jayden’s father Andrew Pearson, 33, immediately brought him into Spain, via Huelva. Her worst fears were realised when Jayden didn’t get off his return flight at East Midlands Airport and Andrew then blocked her number. She believes her ex-partner brought him into Andalucia in efforts to evade capture, and may be constantly travelling between the two countries. The pair were last seen in Castelo Branco, an isolated area in central Portugal,

less than 30km from the border with Spain. “But they could be anywhere as they keep moving around, as we understand it,” Rebecca told the Olive Press this week. The case bears a striking resemblance to that of Alex Batty (left), the 17-year-old who was abducted by his mother and grandfather during a holiday to Marbella when he was just 11. Batty turned himself in just before Christmas, after being dragged all over Spain and brought up in various ‘alternative communities’, the last of which was in the French Pyrenees. Jayden’s mother Rebecca explained

THE authorities are breathing a sigh of relief after an enormous search for an 11-year-old autistic boy who went missing while on a school excursion concluded successfully. The boy disappeared in a grassland area near Son Carrio in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, sparking an immediate response from multiple emergency services. Around 30 Guardia Civil officers along with a helicopter and mountain specialists were joined by nine local police officers, 14 firefighters, and 19 members of the Civil Protection team. During the early afternoon, a resident of Sant Llorenç reported seeing the boy crossing fields near Cami de Son Parra.
