“The first French Bulldogs appeared in my house in 1979. But we registered our kennel in RUSSIAN KINOLOGICAL FEDERATION (RKF) and FCI in 1995. The same year I became RKF and FCI all round judge and since that time I have judged in almost all European countries, USA and Latin America. I have been in charge of the breeding commission of Russian Kynological Federation for a long time. Nowadays I am an RKF advisor in cynology. We have no kennel in the conventional sense of the word, that is, buildings with aviary and the cells - all our dogs live in a comfortable home environment. I have at home just four of them. Katya (our talented handler), Marina, Tatyana, Svetlana, Olga, Irina, Alla, Pavel, Tatyana, Vera, Valeriy, Andrey, Anastasia, Maria, Svetlana, Olga, Irina, Svetlana, Oksana, Valentina, Yulia-they have built our big team providing an opportunity to our dogs to live as beloved pets..

Interview with Revaz When did you acquire your first French Bulldog? I got my first Frenchie in 1979
What is the meaning of A’Vigdors and when did you register your kennel name? It`s an ancient Jewish name, the same time means “our Father�. The prefix registered in the FCI in 1995 You are known throughout the world and regarded by many as the top french bulldog kennel in the world. What responsibility comes with this recognition? Probably to breed better and better dogs and never rest on my laurels Do you line breed and to which lines? Yes, of course! In my opinion only line breeding can be called breeding The quality of French Bulldogs in Russia seems to be amazing. Has it improved over the last 20 years and is there room for improvement? Of course it has improved a lot! Anton is synonym with Katya. She is known for her talented handling of this amazing dog. Is he as good as he looks in pictures? How important is the relationship between a handler and his/her dog? Or is it all about confirmation? One of the most important things for me is the contact between a

Interview with Revaz handler and a dog, emotions‌etc. I don`t like dogs acting like robots, it`s not interesting. Anton is beautiful, smart and full of life. Tell us more about your life - what do you do outside of French Bulldogs? I was in charge of the RKF breeding commission for many years. Until 2016 I was adviser to the RKF President in cynology. You are a respected all breeds FCI judge. Where in the world have you judged? Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Israel and USA In your opinion - where would we find the best French Bulldogs? There are good Frenchies in every country. Is there a future for French Bulldogs, Bulldogs and Pugs? There seems to be increased efforts to end the breeding of these dogs by anti-breeding activists? Animal rights protectors are against of these breeds breeding. I think too many rights are given to greens! It`s foolish saying castration human but tail docking is barbarism! Breeding ban for any breed is discrimination. For me it`s unacceptable! Do you do health tests? Yes of course!

Interview with Revaz You don’t have a conventional kennel in the sense of the word. How does this work? All our dogs live with people in families. I don`t like kennels as they are. To which countries have you exported dogs? Europe, Latin America and some to Asia Your favorite French Bulldog of all times? Robobull Fabelhaft Xcelsior, Xaramouche de la Parure, Omar Sharif de la Parure, Obsession Dell’Akiris The explosion in French Bulldog numbers all over the world = is there reason for concern? Just about quality… Any advice you have for breeders, owners and handlers of French Bulldogs? Love and be faithful to the breed! And do not use every dog for breeding. You obviously get many inquiries from all over the world from people who would like to purchase an A’Vigdors French Bulldog puppy. How should they go about contacting you and what are the qualities you are looking for in a prospective owner of an A’Vigdors puppy? The most important for me is a loving and caring owner! A dog should be a member of the family! This is very important!

Slipped disks Slipped Discs When thinking about backs, you may have heard the term “slipped disc”. You or your dog may have experienced the misfortune yourself, or in conversation you may have heard someone talking about having a “slipped disc”. But what on earth does it actually mean? First…a quick recap from last time: We learnt that the spinal cord runs from the brain, through a “tunnel” in each vertebrae (backbone), all the way to the tail. Nerves pass out from the spinal cord, between the vertebrae, to give our body various functions. We also learnt that between each vertebrae, there is a rubber-like “disc” that acts as a shock absorber between the vertebrae.
So, a “slipped disc” is when the disc that sits between two vertebrae moves out of place (or “slips”). Usually, the disc moves as a result of trauma. When the disc slips out of its normal place, it may either push upwards and press on the spinal cord, or slip sideways and put pressure on the nerves. When this occurs, the pressure that the disc places on the spinal cord or nerves causes the cells in them to die because they lose their blood supply, and this blocks their function. Aside from being extremely painful, if the spinal cord is “squashed” by a disc, nerve signals cannot get past the squashed area. This may lead to paralysis. Slipped discs are considered an urgent situation. Generally emergency surgery is required to remove the slipped disc(s), in the hope that the compressed nerves and spinal cord will have their blood supply restored, so full functioning can resume. However despite surgery, if there is permament cel death in the nerves/spinal cord, then there may be permament, lifelong paralysis.
