The 100th anniversary of OSU’s homecoming celebration has been delayed until next year due to covid-19

The Oklahoma State Alumni Association announced that the 2020 homecoming centennial celebration will not be able to take place due to COVID-19.

The celebration was supposed to take place Oct. 26-31 the week of the OSU vs Texas Tech game. The alumni association said the centennial will take place next year as part of the 2021 season.

“Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,

the OSU Alumni Association will be unable to host the 2020 edition of America’s Greatest Homecoming,” the OSU Alumni Association announced in a statement sent to members.

The decision stands for the safety of all members of the OSU

family. With the main ways to halt the spread of COVID-19 being social distancing and limited crowd gatherings, homecoming was going to be a difficult task to pull off.

“Due to the nature of the events, the Alumni Association would not

I could write Chuba Hubbard and end it here. But I won’t.

The sensational redshirt junior was electrifying in 2019 as the No. 1 running back for the Cowboys.

Hubbard, who ran for 2094 yards and 21

touchdowns, is arguably the best running back in the nation — and it’d be a pretty good argument.

The 6-foot-1, 201-pound tail back’s most tantalizing trait is his jaw-dropping breakaway speed, but he’s far from a onetrick pony. That speed paired with a sweet

blend of power, vision and balance makes him this gaudy player we see on Saturdays.

Hubbard is a true bell-cow who took on 328 carries last season.

But that was part of the problem — OSU’s depth behind Hubbard was dangerously thin last season.

With 4-star true

freshman Deondrick Glass redshirting to get in better shape, LD Brown was relied on to be that No. 2 back.

Even with his explosive speed, Brown failed to make a real impact as the change of pace back last season.

But in 2020 the backups create an interesting situation.

Brown returns to this backfield for his redshirt senior season, and he’s joined by a few others — the aforementioned Glass, JUCO transfer Dezmon Jackson and true freshman Dominic Richardson.

With Richardson committing late to OSU, the Cowboys suddenly have an entic-

ing backfield for the present and future with several talented guys.

Hubbard, who finished eighth in Heisman voting last season, is going to be the primary catalyst on the ground, but the depth behind him is going to be something to watch.
