Mason Rudolph stuttered throughout his answer to the question: “Now that you have two losses, do you guys have to adjust your goals for this season?”

Rudolph, Oklahoma State’s quarterback, had said since before the season started that the Cowboys’ goal was to win a Big 12 title and have a chance to make the College Football Playoff.

Bedlam was deemed a playin for those opportunities.

Both teams entered the game with matching records and one conference loss.

Both were in a four-way tie atop the Big 12 that included OSU, Oklahoma, TCU and Iowa State. OSU had suffered its only loss to TCU at Boone Pickens Stadium.

OU also suffered its only loss at home but to ISU. The Cyclones also gave TCU its lone conference loss. ISU dropped its first Big 12 game to Texas early in the season.

ond Big 12 loss with a 62-52 win Saturday. The victory put OU and TCU atop the conference after ISU lost to West Virginia on the road.

“We were just talking to coach,” Rudolph said after the loss. “We win out, we may get another shot at these guys (OU). That’s what I would love. I would love nothing more than to go down to Arlington, get second shot.”

The dream is realistic but farfetched. OSU travels to ISU on Saturday. The winner of that game will be the outsider looking in, hoping fate punches their ticket to Arlington, where the Big 12 championship game will be hosted Dec. 2. Fate will not be able to help the loser.

OU and TCU also play Saturday in Norman. The winner will gain sole possession of the Big 12 and be in the driver’s seat for a spot in the championship game. If OU and OSU win, the Cowboys will need TCU to lose another game to get a Bedlam rematch. The Horned Frogs end the season

with a game at Texas Tech and a home contest against Baylor.

Same goes for if OSU wins and TCU does, too.

The Cowboys would need OU to slip against Kansas or West Virginia for a rematch against the Horned Frogs.

If the loser of OU-TCU doesn’t suffer another loss, then the two will meet again in Arlington with OSU finishing in third place.

“There’s different things that have to happen at that point,” Rudolph said. “But obviously, we can only control ourselves, and so we gotta go win out. A little bit, I guess (has changed) as far as maybe the (CFP) final four, but who knows, crazier things have happened. All I can do is lead my team tomorrow and continue to fight and win out, just give my all, empty my tank for our team.”

As the fall semester winds down, Oklahoma State students often find themselves with increasingly busy schedules and soaring levels of stress.

Charles “Chico” Harring, university college adviser, said he recognizes students are often anxious this time of year.

“We only have 5 or 6 weeks left,” Harring said. “This is crunch time. This is the busy time of the year. Students are stressed, eager and excited.”

Although expectations at the end of the semester can be overwhelming, students can find several ways to gain support at OSU. Harring explained a social life is important to help students deal with the stressors of college.

A social circle can act as a support group when students are feeling down because friends can motivate them.

“You want to graduate with a big smile on your face and look back on college saying…‘I really enjoyed myself,’” Harring said. “Not...‘I’m so glad it’s over. I’ve been stressed for five years.’”

Joni Hayes, Reboot Center Coordinator, said stress is natural.

“Stress is a physiological reaction to someone’s perception of danger or threat,” Hayes said. “It’s a normal, natural reaction intended to save our lives. It prepares

our body and mind to run fast, jump and get away from danger.”

Hayes said the average person can experience between 50 and 200 stressors every day. Stressors can be as simple as an alarm clock blaring in the morning.

Hayes explained the physical effects of those stressors.

“When we’re stressed, our blood vessels and capillaries constrict and move blood to our large muscles,” Hayes said.

“We’re not ourselves.

We’re more easily distracted because vision and hearing are more acute.

“People that are under a lot of stress can’t think as clearly, don’t have

access to their resources.

Finding some ways to relax and respond to those situations is really important.”

Hayes said students are welcome to unwind at OSU’s Reboot Center.

The Reboot Center offers a range of activities, including art, Sudoku and biofeedback video games.

The video games connect to users through a few unobtrusive sensors that clip onto the fingers. They measure a few variables about the body, such as heart rate, sweat and other skin conductants and the pace of breathing. The video games, such as a game in which participants race cars against three people,

train users to control their breathing.

“Skill development is the primary goal,” said Veronica Sutton, outreach specialist. “We like to develop skills that calm down the body and mind.”

There’s more than just video games and Sudoku at the Reboot Center.

Every Thursday, students can visit between 12 and 1 p.m. to meet Pete’s Pet Posse.

Pete’s Pet Posse is a group of therapy dogs students can pet to relieve stress and receive comfort.

dent volunteer for Pete’s Pet Posse.

“Studies have been done by therapists that bring dogs in, and it is actually easier for nonverbal people to talk to the dogs than it is for them to talk to the therapist,” Weltzer said.

“They bring a smile to people’s faces. Relax and pet some dogs, and feel better about life in general.”

Pete’s Pet Posse members are OSU faculty members’ dogs. There are 34 volunteer canines, and different pairs of dogs attend various events on campus. The therapy dogs are trained and certified to ensure the dogs are comfortable enough to allow anyone

to approach them and pet them.

Haylie Miller, animal science sophomore, said she stresses about difficult classes such as chemistry. Miller said she loves to follow Pete’s Pet Posse whenever she can.

“I feel like dogs can sense emotions,” said Miller. “They’re gonna be there for you. They know its stressful, but it’s the loving feeling you get from petting a dog.”

Blog: “The Lion King” remake with star-studded cast announced B rad en Fos ter S taff Repo rter @ BFosterOS U

Disney is doing another classic in live-action, this time choosing the 1994 classic “The Lion King.” The movie will utilize Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) to bring the cast of animals to life, and retell everyone’s favorite version of “Hamlet.”

Taking the helm is Jon Favereau, responsible for the 2016 smash hit “The Jungle Book,” also adapted in live action from a previous animated success. Utilizing modern CGI and Motion-Capture

to the fullest, along with the talents of some of Hollywood’s best voices, Favereau seeks to repeat his success.

The cast for the movie was released Nov. 1, and many were immediately impressed with the selection Disney took. Headlining the film is Donald Glover, who voices Simba, and Beyoncé, who will voice Nala. For those that haven’t put it together yet, we get to hear Glover and Beyoncé perform “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” which is enough to make anyone buy a ticket.

has casted James Earl Jones back into the role he made so famous 23 years ago. While casting new voices will certainly spice up the movie and help it stand out from the original, not casting Jones just wouldn’t have been right.

Chiwetel Ejiofor, known for his roles in “The Martian” and “Twelve Years a Slave,” will lend his voice to the villainous Scar, bringing his smooth voice to the character that defined ‘bad guy’ for a generation of children. Eric Andre, Florence Kasumba and Keegan-Michael Key will voice the hyena

henchman. Those three will most certainly be the perfect voices for the roles, bringing hilarity and strangeness to the movie.

Now, what everyone was waiting for, Timon and Pumba. Timon will be voiced by Billy Eichner, who is most famous for his role as Craig in “Parks and Recreation.”

Seth Rogan has the pleasure of loaning his voice to Pumba, a match that most people will say is perfect for him.

Those two, who are most people’s favorite characters in the original, will certainly be back in full force.

John Oliver will play Simba’s bird friend Zazu, bringing British charm and whit to the character.

Rounding out the cast is John Kani, a relatively unknown South African actor, who will play Rafiki. The old baboon is perfectly cast as a deepspeaking, accented man, and will be the voice of wisdom throughout the film.

The most exciting news, however, is that Hans Zimmer will be back to re-do the score he nearly perfected in 1994. A master of movie soundtracks, Zimmer won the Academy Award for Movie Score in the

original “Lion King.”

Whether we get an updated version of the original soundtrack or a new invention that stays true to the original, Zimmer is sure to provide another masterpiece.

Jon Favereaus’ “The Lion King” is coming to theaters in 2019, full of masterful voice performances, award-winning music and realistic computer effects. I fully expect this movie to be amazing.
