Browne continued to venture further out of her comfort zone when she vied for the Miss Oklahoma 2016 title as Miss OSU. Although she didn’t win that year, the experience didn’t discourage her from competing again. After 2017, Browne would no longer fall in the required age range for Miss Oklahoma contestants, so it was her last shot.

“As an athlete my entire life, I truly never imagined myself in pageants,” Browne said.

“It’s amazing how much time has shown a new path for me, so I’m really excited just to see what I’m capable of, just challenging and pushing myself enough to be a better version of myself by the time all of this is done.”

Komanduri said OSU is one of the most reasonably priced colleges, but the rising tuition
