“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.” (2 Co.1:20 NIV) Amen or “so be it” is affirming by the apostles the inclusive statement about God’s promises. They are all yes in Christ! Peter declares they are “very great and precious promises so that through them you may participate in the divine nature.” (2 Pet.1:4 NIV) We are told that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to God’s purpose; to be conformed to the image of his Son. (Ro.8:28) He wants to change us to be more and more like Christ. “So do not fear, for I am with you: do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will
strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Is.41:10 NIV) God wants to fulfill his purpose in your life. Are you tempted by fears of all kinds? Are you challenged with discouragement because of your own weaknesses or by obstacles you face? This promise above is for you through Christ. “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Is.41:13 NIV) Surely you have seen a hesitant, unsure or fearful child who is taken by the hand of his father or mother. Such reassurance! This is God’s promise in Christ to us. He will personally take hold of our lives and help us. No wonder we are encouraged to trust in the Lord because we will not be disappointed. Remember the old song? “Put your hand in the hand of the man that stills the waters. Put your hand in the hand of the man that calms the sea...put your hand in the hand of the man from Galilee;” The Lord Jesus Christ! Step past the fear, and trust Christ.

Hill breaks freshman rushing record in Bedlam loss BY c h a nd l er ve sse ls sp o rt s editor
NORMAN — Justice Hill took the ball for the second time, and when his run ended, he was a part of Oklahoma State history. The 3-yard run was insignificant in a 38-20 Bedlam loss for Oklahoma State, a few yards to add to the 99 he finished with. For Hill’s career and in OSU history, though, it was a monumental moment. Hill broke the freshman record for rushing yards, passing Mike Hamilton, who rushed for 963 yards in 2005. Hill finished the regular
season with 1,042 yards and still has a postseason game to play. As a freshman, Hill is not allowed to talk with media, per OSU rules. Fellow running back Chris Carson had high praise for Hill upon learning he set the freshman record. “The sky’s the limit for that kid,” Carson said. “He’s a great running back. He’s only going to get better from here on out. Congratulations to him. I didn’t know that he did it, but I’m definitely going to congratulate him.” Carson finished with 91 rushing yards, and OSU had 217 as a team. In the

first half, the Cowboys controlled the game on the ground, but the Sooners stacked the box in the second after quarterback
Mason Rudolph struggled to get things going. OSU rushed for only 31 yards in the second half. “We felt we could es-
tablish the line of scrimmage,” offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich said. “Our running backs were running hard. We needed to continue that in the second half and then got behind a little bit and had to play catch-up somewhat. I think that had something to do with it.” OSU struggled to find a balance between running and passing in the past few years. With Hill, it looks as if it has. He became the first 1,000-yard rusher for OSU since Joseph Randle in 2012. The loss to the Sooners was disheartening for the Cowboys, and after the
game, there wasn’t much positive to say. Coach Mike Gundy talked about what went wrong but neglected to mention the one positive, Hill. Perhaps because he has already talked about him so much this season. With Hill in the backfield for at least two more seasons, the OSU ground game could flourish. Oklahoma State Overall
It was a tale of two halves. At first, OSU’s run game picked up where it left off against TCU, and its defense limited one of the best running back duos in the country. During that time, though, Mason Rudolph’s struggles hung over the game, becoming more apparent in the second half as OSU stopped running and its defense allowed big plays.
c-
Mason Rudolph
Saturday was arguably the worst start of Rudolph’s career. He completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes for the first time. His 11 completions were a career low, while his 186 yards were the second fewest. His struggles could be blamed on the damp weather, but his OU counterpart, Baker Mayfield, seemingly had few qualms with the rain.
Regular Season
A-
In the end, the Central Michigan game didn’t matter. Whether they’re 9-3 or 10-2, the Cowboys finished second in the Big 12. After a 2-2 start, OSU rattled off seven straight victories, positioning itself to win the Big 12 title. OSU football is a program of expectation now. If Rudolph and James Washington return, the Cowboys will be an early conference favorite next year. For now, though, I look ahead to one last game from this team. See you in San Antonio.
We are deeply grateful for the kindness and compassion extended to our family during this difficult time. You have touched our hearts.
