According to Oklahoma State University’s reopening plan, student and employee location data will be kept by the university for up to 30 days to aid in contact tracing efforts. The reopening plan
was announced on June 4, 2020, and is publicly available online. “Leveraging existing campus technology, OSU has developed analytics to identify employee and student movement across the OSU campus via WiFi access points,” the website reads. In addition to using
data from WiFi access points, the plan also specifies class schedules, ID card transactions, and housing and office assignments as data that will be leveraged to aid in contact tracing. Also of importance is the data
that will not be stored. According to the university’s website, no content data is, or will be collected from individual devices. The plan limits the distribution of this location data to University Health Services. “This location data will be held in
cases as of August 7. The same data reports a cumulative total of 569 known cases and 3 deaths in Stillwater so far. The O’Colly will continue to look into this policy and surrounding issues, and this story will be updated as more information becomes available.

Oh, how the tables have turned. Last season there were many questions about OSU’s defensive line-- and for good reason. The group was incredibly inexperienced and very few people knew how they’d fare in Jim Knowles’ defense. Well, they proved almost everyone wrong. The d-line was one of the most talented groups last season and now with another year under their belt, they are coming in as one of the most complete position groups on the team. Here’s a breakdown of each starter: Tyler Lacy: Tyler Lacy, like most of the defensive linemen on OSU, is a rising star in the Big 12. At 6-foot-7, 276 pounds, he’s got a large frame for his position, but this is something he uses to his advantage. Based on strength alone, Lacy wins many battles at the line of scrimmage. But when this is mixed in with his quick hands and strong balance, it lets him leverage most opponents he faces, maintain his gap responsibility and create many opportuniMONDAY, AUGUST 10, 2020

Cameron Murray: When it comes to defensive tackles in the Big 12, Cameron Murray had an elite redshirt junior season-and he’ll do more of the same in 2020. His 30 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and four sacks
in 2019 are incredible stats for a defensive tackle. He did this by using a combination of hard-hitting initial contact, great gap control and a staunch ability to thwart offensive lineman off using his strength and agility. Having these abilities lets him both stuff the run, fly through gaps and get to the backfield with ease. If this type of progression continues, Murray will be playing on Sundays
in the future. Israel Antwine: Israel Antwine brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and talent to this year’s defensive line. His huge, 6-foot-4, 294 pound frame makes him difficult to move, which is exactly what you want from someone in his role. He uses that to his advantage by maintaining his gap and doing his job on the line of scrimmage to record a large

number of tackles. In these gap contain scenarios, Antwine not only maintains leverage extremely well, he also gains ground and stops runs a yard or two behind the line of scrimmage. If you’re a running back who’s running through a hole near Antwine, you can expect him to stuff the run nine times out of 10. The interior duo of him and Murray will do damage against offenses this season. Trace Ford:
How can you not love Trace Ford? The freshman-extraordinaire was one of the most exciting additions to the Cowboys defensive line last season and he’s only going to get better. Much, much better. He works his magic within milliseconds of the hike of the ball. Ford’s quickness off the ball is something you’d expect to see from a third-year starter and is one of the reasons for his success as edge rusher. He doesn’t just throw off the offensive lineman using speed, he does it with a number of moves like spins, swims and an impressive club rip. Oh, and this is just when he’s at DE. Ford’s freak athleticism allows him to play a hybrid DE/LB role. While this isn’t uncommon in modern football, the way Ford excelled in this during his freshman year is something that every Cowboy fan should be optimistic about. He can blast through gaps to apply pressure to the QB, drop back in pass coverage, swat any ball thrown at him and much more. You will see Ford’s name in the NFL one day and he will be the star of the defensive line this year.
