Hester Street Paint gets Cowboys excited for Homecoming firing hand gesture and Gina Foster and Kennedy Thomason Pistol Pete were painted.
These messages will serve as encouragement for the Cowboy football team on their Spirit Walk Saturday afternoon. An abundance of alumni were in attendance and they brought lots of future Cowboys with them. Little kids covered in orange paint from head to toe were scattered along the road adding their creations to the uplifting messages.
Hester Street Painting unites Cowboys of all generations each year. OSU students, alumni and their families flock to Hester Street where range paint is provided by the Alumni Association. All sorts of masterpieces were created. Messages like, “Go Pokes,” “Loyal & True” and “America’s Greatest Homecoming” were plastered up and down Hester Street. While the event is fun in spirit, it is still a competition. Each year, the Homecoming royalty court makes its way around campus to see each display, and after taking in the sights and sounds of each competitor’s design, they take many factors into consideration, and they announce a winner on Thursday night.
