The Bears beat the once soaring Jayhawks 35-23 this past Saturday after losing to West Virginia the week before. The ground game worked wonders for the Bears as running back Richard Reese carried for 186 yards and two scores. Baylor heads to Lubbock on Saturday to play Texas Tech in what should be a loser-leaves-town game considering any chances for a trip to Dallas in December for the Big 12 title.

5. Texas (5-3, 3-2) (PR: 4) Coach Steve Sarkisian is now 1010 as the Longhorn head coach after a 41-34 loss at Oklahoma State this past Saturday. The game didn’t go well for former 5-star quarterback Quinn Ewers as he threw three interceptions and completed just 38% of his passes. The Longhorns have their bye week this week, but travel to Kansas State in two weeks in what is another tough road game.

4. Texas Tech (4-3, 2-2) (PR: 6) The Red Raiders have a true quarterback controversy on their hands now. Former third-stringer turnedstarter Behren Morton has proven to be a slinger of the football, especially in last week’s win over West Virginia when he threw for 325 yards and two scores in the 48-10 win. Season starting quarterback Tyler Shough has recently been cleared to play again after

his injury in week one. Does Morton stay as starter? Does Shough get his job back? Who knows, but an answer will be given once the Red Raiders take the field versus Baylor this weekend.

3. Kansas State (5-2, 3-1) (PR: 3) Quarterback Adrian Martinez took himself out of the game in the first half versus top-ranked TCU and although replacement Will Howard played well, it was obvious the Kansas State offense wasn’t as good as it was with Martinez running the offense as the Wildcats lost to the Horned Frogs, 38-28. Up next is homecoming for the Wildcats as they host Oklahoma State in a pivotal Big 12 matchup.

ing on the road at TCU last week. An elimination-type game is up next for the Cowboys as they travel to Manhattan and face Kansas State. The winner will be in sole possession of second place in the Big 12.

Cowgirls looking to get healthy, Wright reflects on freshman season Rowdy Baribeau, Staff Reporter

Notebook All the Cowgirls’ focus is on Baylor as they head down to Waco to battle the Bears on Thursday After a tough draw to West Virginia and a loss to Texas on senior day, the OSU Cowgirls are now focused on defeating Baylor to maintain a decent seed in the Big 12 tournament.

One of the biggest notes going into the game is the health of multiple girls. Should some starting Cowgirls be out for the match, look for coach Colin Carmichael to rely on his talented group of freshmen, which includes Chloe Wright. Take a look below at some notes going into OSU’s final regular season soccer match.

Availability of multiple starters Some glaring scratches from the depth chart against Texas were Gracie Bindbeutel and Olyvia Dowell. Mollie Breiner missed the match against West Virginia but had some burn against Texas. OSU goalkeeper Jordan Nytes has been battling a leg injury and many others have been fighting minor injuries. Carmichael was optimistic about having some girls back against Baylor.

“Getting better, individually, you know, they’re all different injuries,” Carmichael said. “But we should have at least some back for Baylor and then moving forward.”

Carmichael noted that losing two players at the same position (Dowell and Bindbeutel) hurts more than losing one player at each position. He also noted that when you put players at different positions, that are not their normal position, it can be difficult to adjust to, which was the case for Grace Yochum against WVU and Texas.

“I think we need maybe some confidence,” Morris said. “I know there’s some people—(Xcaret Pineda)—we’ve seen her shoot like that all year long at practice. That’s just the first time she really cranked a shot like that and attempted it and I think, not just her specifically, but everyone, in general, could have a little more confidence in ourselves.

“She reminds me a little bit of Julia Lenhardt, who was our captain for three years and was just a fantastic player for us,” Carmichael said.

“Chloe’s got a ways to go to get to that level, but she has some of the same attributes and if she can continue on the path like Julia did, I think we’re gonna have a really great midfielder.”

Wright stated that there were some growing pains getting acclimated from traveling to Stillwater from North Carolina. However, a positive mindset has kept the young midfielder in good

spirits.

“I feel like I’ve kept a positive mindset through this all and I feel like I have worked to where I want to be in my freshman season,” Wright said. “I didn’t even think I was gonna start or get minutes. So being able to know that I’ve worked and been able to take the opportunities that have been given to me and grasp them—I will give myself an A for that.”

ber of hairstyles, hair colors and eye colors compared to other generations of Pokemon. The customization also includes the addition of changing your eye shape, eyebrow shape, eyelash shape and other facial features such as freckles.

Scarlet and Violet with these new customization and TM changes it looks like players will have a wider variety of how to play the game versus previous game titles. The open world aspect of Scarlet and Violet adds on to this idea.

“The Oklahoma State family is forever indebted to Jim and Ann for their service to Oklahoma State and Oklahoma,” Shrum said. “On behalf of the OSU family, I send our deepest sympathy and prayers to Ann and the family.”

His career did not end with OSU, as he served as an Oklahoma Republican Senator from 2008-16.

Several students on campus were unaware of his contributions to the university but at the mention of his work immediately recognized and appreciated what he had done.

“I didn’t realize he had done any of that stuff,” Matt Hobbs, an OSU freshman, said. “But I’ve been inside those classrooms and seen the huge research centers.”

“The Addams Family” (1991) and “Addams Family Values” (1993) are Halloween classics. These are perfect for anyone who enjoys Halloween but does not necessarily like the scares. “The Addams Family” and “Addams Family Values” can be streamed on Paramount+ and Amazon Prime.

If you call yourself a fan of horror films, you cannot let Halloween pass without watching “Scream” (1996). Scream queen Neve Campbell gives an exhilarating performance as protagonist Sidney Prescott, a traumatized teen who has to learn to survive based on experiences and horror movie knowledge. This is a smart, self-aware horror film and it is available for streaming on Paramount+ and Amazon Prime.

M. Knight Shalyaman’s “The Sixth Sense” (1999) is one of the most popular Halloween movies to date. Certain to give you a good scare, this psychological thriller has one of Shalyaman’s most intense plot twists.

Shalyaman’s “Knock at the Cabin” (2023) will be released on Feb. 3, 2023. It is a highly anticipated film, starring Jonathan Groff, Dave Bautista and Rupert Grint.

Whether you invite some friends over and have a horror movie marathon or watch a few of these leading up to Halloween, these movies are certain to get you in the right mood for some tricks and treats.

Halloween is approaching quickly, and a lot of people have found themselves looking for the best way to get in the spooky spirit.

Watching horror movies has always been one of the best ways to set the mood for the Halloween season. This year has been fantastic for recently released horror movies, so it is easy to reminisce over older horror films that feel like Halloween.

OSU is always doing unique things on campus that highlights the time of year. The Student Union Activity Board is putting on the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” at 8:30 pm on Halloween at the Student Union theater. What is a better way to prepare for the Rocky Horror Picture Show rather than watching “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” (1975)?

Currently streaming on Hulu, this cult classic follows Brad and Janet, a couple who discover FrankN-Furter’s mansion. This is a movie filled with wild characters, music and anticipation.

The horror slasher “Child’s Play” (1988) is one of horror’s most treasured franchises. The first film follows a single mother who gives her son a “Good Guy” doll for his birthday.

She soon discovers it is possessed by a serial killer named Chucky, who comes to life and wreaks havoc.

There is also a 2019 remake titled “Child’s Play” as well.
