Boynton flips flapjacks, serves students during finals week Daniel Allen Staff Reporter
Riley Foster doesn’t often leave her apartment during finals week. “Maybe like five times,” said Foster, a senior at OSU. “That’s it.” However, when free pancakes are offered, that goes out the window. Especially when leaving the apartment entails meeting Mike Boynton, the head coach of her favorite basketball team. At 9 p.m. Tuesday, hundreds of OSU students snaked around the Student Union, eager to be served a stack of flapjacks by Boynton himself. And by 9:30, a frenzy of cheers echoed as he dressed himself in a cooking apron and gloves. It was far from Boynton’s typical game day fit – usually featuring a t-shirt of some sort, a polo or a jacket. Tuesday night was an exception. See Flapjacks on 5
