சித்திரை விழா ஆண்டுத�ோறும் ப�ொது வாக ஏப்ரல் மாதத்தில் சித்திரை விழா நடைபெறும். மகளிர் பலர் முளைப்பாரி ஏ ந் தி , பற ை ய டி த் து , ஊ ர்வ ல ம ா க வ ந் து மேடையில் கூடி, மிகவும் சிறப்புடன் த�ொடங்கும் சித்திரை விழா சுமார் 5 மணி நேரம் ப�ோவதே தெரியாமல் குழந்தைகள், ப ெ ரி ய வ ர்க ள் க லை நி க ழ் ச் சி க ளு ட ன் வி று விறுப்பாக நடைபெறும். ஓரிரு சிறப்பு அழைப் பாளர்கள் ஆன்டுத�ோறும் கலந்து க�ொள்வார்கள். சு வை ய ா ன உ ண் டி யு ம் கு ற ை ந்த வி லை யி ல் வழங்கப்படும். தரமான தமிழ் மரபுசார் நிகழ்ச்சிகள் மேடையில் கண்டு களிக்கலாம்.

குழந்தைகள் நாள் விழா ந வ ம்ப ர் ம ாத த் தி ல் , கு ழ ந்தை க ள் ந ா ள் வி ழ ா மிகவும் சிறப்பாக நடைபெறும். குழந்தைகளின் மாறுவேடப் ப � ோ ட் டி , ப ெ ரி ய வ ர்க ளி ன் க லை நி க ழ் ச் சி க ள் எ ன அரங்கமே கலைக்கட்டி அனை வரின் கண்களுக்கும் விருந் தாக அமையும் வண்ணம் அனைத்து கலை நிகழ்ச்சி களும் இருக்கும். த மி ழ்ப்ப ள் ளி க ளி ன் சங்கமம் என்ற நிகழ்வு 2014 லிருந்து நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. வாசிங்டன் வட்டாரப் பகுதியில் உள்ள பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் இருபால் ஆசிரியர்கள் அ ணி வ கு ப ்பா க த மி ழ் / தமிழரின் பெருமை களைப் பற ை ச்சா ற் று ம் வ ண்ண ம் வண்ண வண்ண பதாகை களை ஏந்தி ஊர்வல மாக வந்து விழா மேடையில் நின்று தங்கள் பள்ளிகளின் சிறப்புச் சாதனைகளை எடுத்துரைப் பதும் ஒரு கண் க�ொள்ளாக் காட்சியாக இருக்கும்.

Poikkaal Kuthirai Aattam or Puravi Aattam is one of the folk dances of Tamil Nadu. It is a type of dance performed with a dummy horse having a gap inside so that a person can fit into it to perform the dance.

TAMIL ARCHEOLOGY KEEZHADI
From the sophisti cated sewer system to the ornate metal and stone artifacts dating back to the 5th century BC, Keezhadi shines as one of the oldest urban settlements in the world. Keezhadi exca vation becomes a turning point in the cultural historiography of sangam age. Inscriptions of Tamil Brahmi letters show the high literacy of ancient Tamilians.
