Traveling men. That’s who we are. That's what we do. Since the early 2000s, the Supreme Council has recognized that in order to get the full Member Experience, we need to encourage our members to expand past the boundaries of their home Valleys, and even their home state, to meet other Scottish Rite Freemasons and see more great degree work.

Supreme Council's New Gold Passport Jewel

As a way for members to keep track of their progress, the Scottish Rite Degree Passport was developed. As members see each of the 29 degrees in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, they receive a passport stamp. Realizing quickly this would be a very popular program, two levels were created: a white passport, which you receive when you are initiated in the 4th Degree, and a gold passport when you have witnessed all degrees at least once. Since this program was started, there have been over 239 gold passports distributed. Some members are even working on their second or third gold passports.

We have often been asked if there would be another “level” to signify multiple completions. You asked, we listened. This year, the Supreme Council decided that because this is such a popular member engagement program, there should be a recognition, so a commemorative jewel was cast.

Remember that our degrees witnessed at any Thursday Night at the Rite or upcoming Virtual Reunions are eligible for passport credit.

How complete is your passport?

Where will your travels take you next?

Remember, you can check out your degree progress when you log into the Member Center. For a listing of upcoming degrees around the jurisdiction, visit ScottishRiteNMJ.org/ degree-dates.
