JS and PF reported on the last Burnside meet – approximately 20 people attended ◦
The non-Burnside wall program is being positively received
◦
NMC members are advised to wear NMC T-shirts to non-Burnside wall meets
ED estimates that half the t-shirts and hoodies have been sold ◦
The stock of size medium is almost exhausted
◦
£70 worth were sold at the Neil Gresham and Kenton Cool talk
58 tickets for the Neil Gresham and Kenton Cool talk were sold at £8.50 each for a total of £493 ◦
£160 was raised from the raffle
◦
£42 was donated to Sherpa by members.
◦
The overall club surplus was £143.13
From feedback the talk was generally well-received ◦

There was feedback that the advanced master class was a bit hands-off
The Venables talk is lined up for the 9th of December at the Lit and Phil ◦
No invoice has been received as of the committee meeting, but the Lit and Phil have confirmed that the talk is on their calendar.

Tickets will be sold via the same company as the Neil Gresham and Kenton Cool talk
◦
The possibility of allowing for overspill was discussed, but it was decided to keep the number of attendees at 100.

Action on IB to develop promotional material

Action on ES and JS to contact organisations for promotion.
◦
A ticket price of £10 was decided upon, with 60 tickets for sale and 40 places reserved for NMC members.

The possibility of raising additional funds via a raffle will be explored

JS will approach Steven Venables to find out if his sponsor is willing to contribute to a raffle

IB will approach Cotswold Outdoor to find out if they will contribute.
ED will be away when the talk is scheduled to take place and has proposed changes to the running of the NMC stall ▪

The NMC quiz is proposed for the 7th of January with the 14th as a fallback ◦
JS has volunteered to be quizmaster.

The NMC Christmas dinner is proposed for December the 13 th, venue TBD

Committee Structure Update •
JD proposes reducing the number of committee members to 10 with 6 officers and a quorum of 5.

A Vice President is needed for next year, as well as 3 ordinary members.

A BMC meeting on guidebooks is due to take place on the 29 th of December ◦
JD will approach Steve Blake to see if he wants to represent the club at that event
◦
JD and IB are happy with the backup arrangements for the new guidebook
◦
The first section of the new guidebook is just about done, the next section is to be on Caller
◦
JD expressed concern at the biography section on the Cream team in the Stowell proof of concept that has been circulated to general agreement that it should be toned down so as to avoid the impression that they are the only ones developing crags in Northumberland.
Communications •
JS announced that a lean autumn County Climber is to be published in midNovember
•
JS is planning a bumper Christmas issue, which will be the final County Climber released in paper-only format.

Dave Hume has made some suggestions for County Climber that JS is planning to implement ◦
Retrospectives from original members.

Put feelers out to Andy Earl to see if he's willing to be interviewed about his experience
◦
IB will be working with JS on the interviews

IB has been told that Wildtrak is coming back.
•
An advert for the NMCs guidebooks has been published in Climb with Cordee paying half the price
AOB •
IB will organise a winter event to fill the slot of the President's walk
•
The AGM is to take place on the 28th of January ◦

JD will prepare a version of the constitution containing the proposed rule changes to accommodate the reorganised committee for 6 weeks ahead of the AGM.
