Vegreville offered a jam packed day full of free activities for families and individuals at different venues on Family Day on Feb. 21.

When I asked citizens why they feel families are important and why they should spend time together, I received the following replies.

Jay Charette stated, “We don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring. Cherish every moment you have with your loved ones and live life to the fullest.”

Georgina Malin Frankiw said, “Family is important to us because we love them and we want to be near them to visit and do things together. We are older now and we love to see them come visit and spend time with us. As well, we don’t know in this day and age what tomorrow will bring.”

Shane Zawadoski said family means everything to him as he works out of town and only sees his children every second weekend. “I just like to see my kids enjoy themselves.”

Eric Tymchuk believes it’s important to spend time with loved ones. “People can do things with their children that they did when they were young and pass along their heritage to their children.”
